Thank you so much for using the GPS with gloves and not the index finger. Some many reviews fail to test it with different gloves in a real world application.
Brilliant review mate! I'm so tempted to get this for my FJR as I also fancy a nice TFT screen. I'm just wondering where best to mount it. I love how it's integrated with the whizz wheel for the GS. Love your dog btw, give him a cuddle from me :)
Brilliant reviews on these systems. Love the channel. Might be an idea to compare and contrast on both the Chigee and Carpureride. Pros/cons in relation to price- installation-functionality etc.
Thanks for the review I have two chigees on both bikes . Bought one and had a cheap Amazon CarPlay on my bmw r 9t. But chigee has updated software so now your rear camera shows up when BSD is activated.for me that a must have which prompted the second purchase. Go and update to 2.8.1 select BSD and rear camera switching . But it’s awesome quality screen is more sensitive than my Amazon £200 unit. They are bringing out OBD modules which will give u engine temp etc in aug
Great review Dave, very interesting. Looks like a fantastic piece of kit. Blind spot warning is a top safety feature alone. I just got a Nav VI recently but the features on this has me thinking.
Dave, There is also an AOI-5 Play version, it does the same as your AOI-5 Lite, but doesn't have the camera's which makes it cheaper. They are in also launching a BMW edition of the AOI-5 Play which will fit into the BMW cradle. Chigee customer service is excellent, FedEx Ireland lost my unit and Chigee have been extremely efficient helpful in sorting it. If only FedEx were as easy to deal with. Peter
Yes, when I made this review there were rumours of a plug and play for the BMW cradle so it’s great to hear that it’s available now, save that bloody wiring!!🤯Good to hear about their customer service too. 👌
Hi Dave, I’ve been looking at this system for a while now and after watching your very informative video I’ve purchase the full system. Thanks for the great discount code as well. 😀👍👌🏍️
As one Dinosaur to another I got it!!!!!!!Yippee!!!!! I would definitely buy this system were it not for the fact I fitted the Innov cameras front and rear. However this has more features and has got me thinking about changing! The blind spot detection system is worth it alone. Be well and catch you later.
Thanks for this. Based on this and a review from our friend Andy, I got one myself (the Play version). I figure if two techno-skeptics like it, it must be good. Thanks again, chum.
Dave. Great review. Taking the time to show installation procedure is great. I am using the Carpuride 5 inch connected to my BMW stick gps mount. I love it, but unlike the Chiggee, it is not Wizzy Wheel. I can’t remember the last time rotated that wheel😅. Regards from Switzerland
I have the AIO fitted to my V-Strom 1050XT. Love it, excellent bit of gear. Just wish that it was a 6" screen to match the size of the V-Strom's dash. As for your videos and touring, l love them. Last year my wife and I did a tour of Ireland. Unfortunately it was on a bus full of either young annoying kids or old fuddy-duddies such as myself. We did the 160 km loop called the Ring of Kerry. It was at that point I said to my wife, I'm coming back next year on the bike. Never again shall I do a bus tour, never. A friend runs a bike tour/shipping company, specialising in the Isle of Man. Ship the bike over, pick it up at a cargo place near Heathrow, do the IoM, then off on a tour before the bike has to be back at the cargo place for shipping back to Australia. I hope to do that in 2025. I'd love to do ABR Festival as well. That'd be great, do the IoM, BDR, tour Ireland and the UK and if I'm brave enough, scoot over to the Continent for a zip around France. As I've never ridden on the right that'd be a scary one, I reckon. That's my Bucket List. Thanks again for your content. Love watching motorcyclists and their bikes doing stuff in other countries.
Hi Mike, you have some great plans right there. If you make it to Ireland on a bike (not the bus) give me a shout to hook up and I’ll take you on some epic roads. Maybe see you at next years ABR too?!
Good review, covers off a lot. Agreed it would be good to be able to remove the unit at night for security. I'd also like to add the ability to connect to and stop/start recording on action camera's to the "features wish list", as it would be helpful for camera's mounted to unreachable locations (when on the move)
@@WheelieGoodTV fair play! I think if I fitted to my bike it would be a 3 mugs of tea job and I would also have left over screws too! It proves we are more efficient than the manufacturers, so I tell myself! 😂😂

Good review Dave, Same Question for you as your previous CPR review.... You said that you connected your phone directly to your Sena headset. When you did this could you still listen to audio (Music, Audio books & phone calls) when carplay was active on the Chigee Screen? Thanks
So chigee v carpuride, which is better? Also the blind spot detection works as you showed, but does it work when you turn off the screen ?? Very interesting video, cheers
All shall be revealed on next weeks vid🤗. I must check if that works when the screen is off, good question.. I’m away on hols at the moment but I’ll check when I get back.
Great bit of kit Dave but I’ll stick to just my Garmin xt2 keep up the great vids. Was thinking of upgrading my action 3 camera and mic to the action 4 with the action 2mic setup so no need for the receiver in the rain is that correct and would the flitters from the action 3 fit the action 4 ? Pls
@@Themotograndpa cheers Grandpa. Yes that is an amazing setup for when it’s raining and works flawlessly. Regarding the filters it depends which set you use as I’ve heard conflicting reports but my Telesin filters hot swap.👌
Hmmm. Would like install a stem mounted nav to my gen 4 BMW RR. Maybe the best way to go is install a BMW nav cradle and then use my BMW nav VI but this looks interesting too. I’d happily use my phone and google maps but worried about the bmw vibrations killing the camera stabilisation sensor…
Ive got a VFR same as yours, thinking this would modernise it up little... do you think this system and cameras would go on it ok? I see they do a stem mount for the attachment...
Yes it would work no problem but my concern would that you would have to look down too much. I don't mind when its within your view and near your screen but if it was stem mounted I would say that was very unsafe.
Thanks! I’ve got a garmin XT sat nav there at the moment on the VFR and it works well. I’ll have a think and may bite the bullet with the discount. Thanks for the reply
Hi Phil, I’ve recently bout the Cardo pack talk edge. I have that fitted in my Neotec3 . I wish I’d bought one years ago as the sound quality and battery life is superb!
Hey Glenn how’s things my friend? That would be the ideal scenario but that system isn’t available as yet. I’ve encouraged them to release a hot swap cradle system so hopefully someone might have listened. 👌
Thanks for this; does the system act purely as a mirror of the phone or can it act as a stand alone gps? So if in an area with poor network coverage, will it work without having the maps downloaded to the phone in advance??
Now this is a good question. So at the moment it just mirrors the phone but it does have a gps unit which I have also installed. Rumours are in the near future they will make it a stand alone GPS because of this and also store GPX files on the SIM card. This would make it incredible. 👌
For someone whose phone is always full of 💩, are maps easily saved to the chigee unit before a trip? That way if there is no phone coverage, you’ve still got navigation?? I’m really interested in one of these.
Looks a great system Dave. I especially like the rear canera view on the screen and blind spot warning however until the unit can be removed from the bike ill give it a miss as some arsehole will knick it . Perhaps V2.0 will include that one day
Well guess what Ian….. they’ve started shipping out the new version which just clips into the GS cradle so BMW users will be happy. It would be great if they carried it out for all models on a cradle system. That would be awesome.
@WheelieGoodTV that's good news. Hopefully, they will send you the new version . As I'm a Triumph Tiger owner I will have to wait a while until it becomes a cradle mount . Camera system aside, how does it compare to the Carpuride system ? Good review . Keep up the good work !
This stuff is ok till you have no phone signal , ie when touring a few weeks ago I had no signal crossing switzerland because my package only included EU and Switzerland is not in it like us in the UK, so only as good as your phone and for that money you can get a dedicated sat nav .
@@quatron--- ok. It has worked flawlessly for the last six weeks and I really don’t want to undo wiring looms to start searching for a suitable wire. I’ll be the first to post if it fails but this is good info for any viewers looking at this thread.🙏
@@WheelieGoodTV basically what’s happening now is the fuse clamp is holding more stuff.
