- The MAP is here at last! Thank you to everyone who waited patiently while we worked on the MAP! And a special thanks to everyone who worked on this, all of your work turned out wonderfully!
First off, sorry this MAP is so poorly edited. I had no time to work on this any other time of this week, probably for months. So I had to rush it, once again, I apologize. Hopefully it still looks alright!
This MAP is based around an AU where Daisy helps Squirrelflight get away from her toxic partner, Bramblestar. Coming from the loveless relationship with Spiderleg, she tried her best to help Squirrelflight achieve her own happiness. Along the way, Squirrelflight reconnects with her family and finally feels happy.
You can interpret their relationship in any way you'd like! You can make this a shipping MAP in your eyes, or let them just be friends. Whatever you'd like!
If you or someone you know is in a toxic relationship, find help. You are deserving of your own happiness. You are worth so much more than what you may think. Tell someone you trust, it could be a parent, friend, adult, etc. Someone will listen. You aren't alone.

Edit 2: I'm gonna add a few things here that I wanna say that I'm getting a lot of comments about.
1. Squirrelflight and Daisy are not related, Daisy was a rogue who lived in the barn near Windclan's territory. They have never been related by blood since Daisy only showed up way later. The only way they would ever be related is through one of their kits getting married to the other, and let's face it, that's loads better than the cousin relationships we've seen in the series.
2. This MAP has Bramblestar/Brambleclaw being abusive in it. Bramblekit/Bramblepaw is not abusive and I understand that. I loved Bramblepaw, but the direction they took going forward turned him to a horribly abusive mate. If you have not read up to at least Lost Stars and you say he's not abusive, I'd suggest reading or watch Moonkitti's video cause this is not about the earlier Brambleclaw, it's about how he is now. Not his imposter or anything else.
3. Do not ship Ashfur instead. He'd be equally worse. What he did was horribly abusive and it doesn't help with what he's done recently. I don't think I need to say anything else.
4. DO NOT invalidate anyone in the comments who has gone through something similar. The amount of people I've seen doing this is disappointing.
5. Yes, they're both girls. I do not condone any homophobia in this comment section. I've already seen a few comments on it.
I'll add more to this as more comes up. I'll also add general questions in the future as some people seem to be a bit confused on what's going on, which is alright! If you've got a question, just ask and I'll add it here in a Q&A section if I have the time!
The message in this is beautiful. I think Moonkitti is right on this one and I'm glad to see an AU where Squilf actually ditches Bramblestar. And adding Daisy as a supportive figure just did it for me. Amazing map. UwU

People in abusive relationship know it’s wrong, they just push that feeling down with positive memories from the beginning of the relationship. It’s like either living with a blindfold already on (kids, they haven’t been introduced to this stuff so they’re blind to it) or putting a blindfold on yourself..

To be fair, the one moment we get of remarkability of Sand and Squilf is Sand yelling at Squilf for “making a scene” when not immediately getting with Bramble or Ash. (AKA Bramble)

Daisy was born away from the clans, so she puts Squirrelflight’s feelings first, instead of the warrior code. Daisy went through the similar situation, so she understands Squirrelflights like no one else.
I wish this was an actual plot device in canon warriors. Not the Bramblestar worship the Erin's seem to vomit onto the page

I don't mean to be rude but I wish the books were not good at characterization or anything. They didn't do it very well and just put random fights when there should be more tender moments
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but it made me mad that Crowfeather started to hate Leafpool again after their relationship. I kind of think they should have still loved each other.
@@cannedseagullz I’m pretty sure they become mates in starclan. He’s upset because she kept his kids hidden from him and the fact he was outed in front of all clans as a traitor and an unloyal mate..pretty embarrassing. I believe he still loves her.

What I love most is that bramblestar isn’t shown as the good guy in this. He treats her so poorly and I would have loved if we had leafpool help out more and show squirrelflight she didn’t need him like daisy does in this stunning masterpiece. 💗
Ugh, I haven't seen one yet, but we NEED a map where Leafpool goes all out, showing off the close sistership they have. I want to see Leaf tear Bramble a new one tbh, she's usually the calm one so it'd be awesome to see (I mean, there's always that great animatic of congratulations, showing leaf yelling at bramble lmao)

I like the idea of Daisy being like a therapist in the clan, the fact she lived through so much and was born outside of clan rules and expectations really makes her a great cat to have around when ur sad

That aside, I want to say this is beautiful! Love hurt/comfort, love these characters bonding, love Squilf getting away from the abuse and being loved, and everyone did amazingly with their parts-even without really having a script, it flows nicely. Excellent work!!

okay i am WEEPING. like, genuine tears are on my cheeks. this is so powerful. female characters helping each other through abusive, isolating relationships, especially in this context where one has already healed from one and learned to be happy again and is now giving all her love and support and friendship to someone who’s in the situation she was once in, is so beautiful and important and i am SOBBING. it’s genuinely heartbreaking we have to come to fan works to get comfort from what canon is still painting as a love story, but oml i feel healed. i feel cleansed. this is so beautiful and meaningful and every part is gorgeous. the bit with ashfur and bramblestar?? absolute CHEF’S KISS. my heart is full. i am at peace. this is so perfect

To be honest this has to be the best map in history. This bring a sign that a person can help a person if they’re in trouble and that they’re always by your side no matter what happens! This map explains it all and that this friendship is so powerful, so inspiring that this had me in tears, everyone did so flawless and everyone’s parts are so beautiful, this map shows about what squirrel flight was going through and that daisy helped her out the best she could do to support her and care for you. This is the best map in my book, thank you for making this map, it’s so lovely 💞

I was in a toxic relationship and didn’t realize it until it was too late. My closest friend begged me to leave her, and eventually I did. My gf blamed me for everything and destroyed my esteem (which was already low). That was back in May. I slowly healed, thanks to my best friend...who is now my girlfriend. I’m now happy and forever grateful for what she did for me.
To everyone in situations like mine, there’s always a way to get out of it. I’m here for you and you matter.
My brother was in a toxic relationship too. This year was when he finally left her. I like to think with my help. Though what really snapped everything in place was when she threatened to leave his birds outside in freezing weather. After he moved back in with my dad and I(his birds included), I remember him fighting on the phone with his ex and I had to take the phone from him and hang up, just sitting with him. Bitch deserves to be bitten in the ass with karma. Since she slammed a door on his hand
I agree. Bramble but he refused to admit he was wrong. If he had just apologized sooner, then most of these problems could've been avoided.
And the way he apologized also raises red flags for me; I fully believe Squirrelflight should have gotten out of her relationship with Bramble rather than back in it.

I absolutely adore this MAP, it’s got such a strong message and I am so thankful to have been a part of it. We don’t always notice when a relationship becomes toxic; it’s incredibly important to talk about these kind of situations to help bring awareness and maybe even help others escape their toxic relationships. This MAP speaks to me and I know to many others too. So to everyone who has been in a relationship like this or is in one right now, know that things will get better. Never put your comforts and happiness in the back of your mind because you deserve so much more and know that you’re not alone. 🧡 You are loved. And a big congratulations to everyone, this MAP is amazing!

if i could get a little personal like i did in my original comment--a lot of what i put into my part was vented from my last relationship 4 years ago. i had lost several people who were close to me, along with the abusive relationship where i suffered severe manipulation, gaslighting, guilt tripping and even cheated on at one point. i had also been ejected from my past friend group due to the drama that ensued afterwards, and i spent a lot of time (literal years) willingly alone because I felt like I was better off. i empathize a lot with Squirrelflight, because a lot of the things she was feeling (especially in Squirrelflight's Hope) such as feeling like she was undeserving or incapable of being happy, were a lot of the things I dealt with during that time.
My best friends and my family taught me to trust people again, to form healthy attachments and let myself be emotionally vulnerable in a safe place. The similarities struck a chord with me. My mom also suffered abuse and it took her years to get out of the relationship with my dad but our lives, as hard as it was (moving state, bullying in school, homelessness) improved greatly after getting away from him. Things get hard before they get better and I promise it works that way, and I hope this map sends all of this as a message to anyone who might be going through something similar.

The sad thing is, in Bramblestars Storm, Spiderleg tried to reach out to Daisy but then he was dead by the next book. He still wasn’t a good father and that doesn’t excuse anything.

I like to think that when Squirrel turns her head, she sees Bramble and Jessy togheter, which caused the following breakdown
Honestly this made me tear up a bit. Squirrelflight is one of my favorite characters, and as someone who was in an abusive relationship for a while and had no one to turn to during that dark time, it really hurts to see her relationship not dealt with properly in the books. This MAP did a really good job of addressing the issues that weren't addressed in the books, and really helps spread the message to help others in need. So thank you for making this MAP :)
as someone recovering from being in a trapped in relationship very similar to squirrelflight and bramblestars, this made me tear up so badly.
maybe it’s silly but imagining squirrelflight moving on and getting better makes me feel as if i can too! not to mention the art here is gorgeous, good job everyone who participated :D

Only critique would be that it seems to repeat the same stuff for a portion of it. Squirrelflight crying, Daisy comforting her, bad/evil representation of Bramblestar lingers. I'd like to see a bit more of a story/progression, but its still hella cute!
This wasn't scripted so things got a bit jumbled up! But yeah, I see where you're coming from! It does look a bit odd at times
But it is a progression of a story! Like an abusive relationship. He’s a dick so she gets comfort, it happens time snd time again as she slowly regains herself and realizes “man f*ck him!” and focuses on herself because she’s truly too good to have someone like that. Victims of abusive relationship or toxic ones or whatever don’t just always get out after the first nasty fight which leaves them feeling lesser..
It may be a boring story, maybe not even a story to most, but those of us that disagree see the true beauty in this map and it’s wonderful message.
I know I'm exceptionally late but eh who cares.
I get where you're coming from. From a story perspective it is repetitive, but I kinda see it as SquirrelFlight struggling to come to terms and accept the harsh reality of being in an abusive relationship. Like, the cat your father mentored and respected, the father of your kits, the one you call your mate, is abusive. People in prolonged abusive relationships struggle to accept and leave those relationships. Its hard to accept the reality, especially when manipulation is involved
I love how realistic this map is about brambles and squirrels relationship. Its so unhealthy. Like usually squirrel is independent and will stand up for herself but around bramble she just seems so miserable. Hopefully this also helps other people see if theyre in a poor relationship.
This. This brought tears to my eyes. Ever since I saw the map call for this, I've been so intent on seeing the finished project. And let me say this, it was definitely worth the wait! Everybody did so amazing and the whole map is just, perfect! Best way to start off 2021, if you ask me. (Slight vent) This map is the reasoning as to why I now love this song. It's helped me with stress, and even though I've never went through what Squilf did, this really helped me realize that life struggles will come and go, especially if you have somebody there to be by your side. On a side note, Squilf definitely deserved much better than what she went through.

While good to acknowledge it wasn't intentional by the authors, how Squirrel and Brambles relationship is written turned out frighteningly familiar for me and many others. It was really hard for me to hear how hopeless and trapped she felt in Squirrelflights Hope, because it so strongly reminded me of how I felt when in my own past abuse situation. Thank you Fernaldo for hosting a project where we can see her being given support and heal. Squirrel deserves it, and so does everyone that sees themself in her.

I'm so happy this is finnished! I really love both Daisy and Squirrelflight even as separated characters. Squirrelflight deserved better, and I'm so glad Daisy made her happy. Also Daisy is such an underrated character, let's give her some love and thank her for being such a kind character even at hard times.
I really love Daisy,she is SO underrated! First she is like the pilar of the emotional support of the clan!Then she ALWAYS is there (also ferncloud,rest little angle) to help new queens!Thunder clan would NOT be Thunderclan without Daisy!
I haven't been keeping up with the book series like I used to, but I can say that this is a beautiful MAP and life that Squirrelflight deserves. I would've definitely like to see this kind of mother/daughter between her and Daisy, it really works well!
Awwwww this actually made me tear up - what a beautiful MAP idea! We need more strong and independent lady representation in Warriors, and this MAP perfectly displayed that by showing Daisy, who has been in two toxic relationships with Smoky and Spiderleg, seeing Squirrelflight going through the same thing and helping her through it. Once again, absolutely gorgeous MAP!

why can't something like this ever be canon?? this is just f-ing beautiful, there are no words to express just how lovely everything was, the aesthetics, the soft palatte, the artists involved, and the meaning!
this kind of stuff hits me right in the feels, but this, though it's so simple, it holds a ton of depth. I beyond love the idea of Daisy being the one to help Squilf break away from Bramble. someone like Daisy is such a masterful choice. not only would her and Squilf have a great friendship if they interacted more in canon, but she herself comes from two failed and no-love-involved relationships. between (that first mate, I forgot his name...) and Spiderleg, she knows what a bad relationship looks like.
esspecially the line, "sorrow bring you nothing, take it from me", that hit the most in this video. because like I just said, yeah, take it from her. she knows what it's like to be depressed over break-ups and not-good relationships.
and although with this specific video, I don't look at them being romantic, and just best-friend-companions, I now definitely include Daisy x Squirrelflight in my roster for romantic warriors ships.
Daisy has a history of poor relationships. but i see she pulled through.

A smol fanfic that I wrote:
Squirrelflight blinked. The evening sunlight gleamed red against her emerald eyes, causing her to squint. She felt warm tears trickle down her face as she stared ahead, her mind flashing back to every argument with her mate.
"Squirrelflight," A voice like honey mewed smoothly from behind.
Squirrelflight spun around, relief flashing from her as she saw Daisy. She looked into the she-cat's eyes, and felt a purr rumble in her throat, admittedly, a rusty one.
"Get up," Daisy meowed quietly and calmly, nosing the russet queen up. Squirrelflight looked into Daisy's deep pools of sapphire water. She curtly nodded, before pushing herself to her feet, feeling a rush of relief to have Daisy supporting her by her side.
"I... he... they... " Squirrelflight began to hiccup a sentence, but Daisy swished her tail over the ginger cat's mouth.
"Hush. I understand," Squirrelflight thought she saw a flash of misery and pain in her friend's eyes, but only for a second.
"I can't live like this," Squirrelflight murmured after a moment. "He treats me like dirt,"
Daisy dipped her head.
"You are queen of your decisions." Daisy meowed. "I will support you either way."
Squirrelflight purred, feeling a rush of emotion for the cream cat as she nuzzled her.

I love this MAP! super inspirational! I love this AU Aswell! Having Daisy help Squirrelflight overcome her Abusive Time, is so great, Daisy is one of the most motherly Characters. And to see her showing her Motherly care for Squirrelflight is so sweet!

Honestly, this map is so incredible! It really shows us that there is someone in this world that cares about you, and wants the best for you! This is one of the best Squirrelflight maps I have ever seen, and it does a great job of showing us Squirrelflight’s feelings! Good job and keep up the great, wonderful work!

EVERYONE'S ART STYLES WERE SO PRETTY THIS WAS SO NICE!!! I am gonna say that seeing the ghost of Hollyleaf next to Daisy in that ine part brought tears to my eyes. This was such a nice and beautiful map, and the colors were so amazing. I love Daisy and squilf's designs.
This is amazing! I can just imagine Daisy doing this like how a mother comforts her child. I love how Squirrel can find some good in her crazy life!

Heck, this map is literally perfect. Quality art, storyline and characters. I feel like this map fleshed out a character who didn't have much purpose in the books (Daisy) Squirrelflight is one one my favourite cats and I can't begin to explain the joy this map gave me after it showed her what Bramble is really like. She deserves an ending like this.
I imagine them having that one friendship/comradeship that comes once in a life time. It can be romantic, but their closeness would be on a more understanding/friendly level.
This just makes me realise, squirrel flight did nothing to deserve how she was treated in the books.
The Erin's seem to hate all female characters
This is my one of favorite maps ever, it’s absolutely stunning! Every artist did amazing in their parts, and every emotion was displayed so well! I have watched it a ton of times and I have cried pretty much every time ❤️
It’s so great to see Squirrelflight, who is one of my favorite characters, realize that there is so much more for her, that she deserves the best, and she has so many other cats who love her! Plus I just love how Daisy is the one to help her, the two of them as friends is amazing!
And I absolutely hate Bramblestar, so it’s all around great!

Sorry, this made me cry. I love Daisy even more now for what she didn't do, but WOULD have done without a doubt or thought.
This is such I good example of how good a friend can be through tough times, both of them deserved better, and the fact that they could connect with each other in this way sends such a positive message!

This is Beautiful!!! And as soon I was done watching it I immediately thought about Squilf x Daisy. Everyone in this map is so talented and I just hope I can become as skilled as them one day. The song choice is top tier, because the song makes me cry depending on how it's used and what my mood is. Everyone who is in or was out of a toxic relationship, I hope you can become happier, because you're worth so much no matter what people say, you matter and deserve the entire world!

Squirrelflight x Daisy has so much potential really and the Erins just dismiss it because they think Bramblestar is like the god of ThunderClan. Daisy has gone through the same exact things as Squilf and they would honestly have an amazing dynamic as a couple, Squilf unlocking Daisy's more energetic side, and Daisy calming Squilf down. Wish this was canon, it'd make the series so much better

I was once in a relationship just like the one that Squirrelflight is in, it completely broke down my self confidence and I couldn’t make a decision by myself for years because whenever I would make a decision in that relationship the other person would get angry, even if it was what I thought was right or what made me comfortable. Seeing Squilf realize that her relationship with Bramblestar was toxic really reminded me of my own experience, everyone got the emotions through the process just right in my opinion! Amazing job! 💖
