I LOVE the symbolism with Squirrelflight wiping her hands clean at the end! She's done what she felt she needed to and now she wants to leave Ashfur and all he did on that riverbank. It's also neat that you left it as an after credits scene, since you don't technically need it for the MAP to seem finished (and we know many don't stay until the end of the credits), but for those who do see it it kind of frames the whole MAP as, again, Ashfur interpreting things however he wants and missing the big picture. He sees Squirrelflight forgiving him. He doesn't see her wiping her hands clean of him after he's gone.
I also felt this. I was wondering if Sagutoyas waited to finish as far as he/she could into the series. Don't continue reading if you haven't, but Ashfur is bad I belive. I looked it up on wiki. He was the imposter. So I'm wondering if this was added to show how Squirrelflight couldent care less about him anymore and just acted to send him off. It would also align with her character traits because honestly...squirrelflight is a character iv never liked. Far too much secrecy and dumb things involved with her.

For me, it felt so offputting to the point where, after I finished watching the entire thing, I just felt like I was in a completely different state of mind, and it's honestly kinda scary. This MAP is still absolutely breathtaking nonetheless, and I personally think that the ending just made it even better.
Only the medicine cats and few Leaders have learned the special language of Starclan, but the confusion remains. Since it is so different from the living, they have called this new language, French.
It's kind of neat to see people take a concept like "Ashfur goes to Starclan," which seems really implausible on paper, and turn it into something somewhat believable and emotional. :V
Personally I never believed he should have gone to starclan, considering Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight are a few of my favorites. But after this, I think I can tolerate him :3

Something I really love about this MAP is that even though you’ve mentioned none of The Broken Code events have occurred, I think it works really well as an explanation for Ashfur’s actions. I could see him twisting this whole event to support his theory that Squirrelflight secretly loves him, and motivating his actions for the whole arc. Great work everyone!
I think the ending scene can really teach us that we can forgive people not for them but for ourselves while still acknowledging that what that person did was wrong
0:33 - 0:42 is SO HEART-WRENCHING. He feels so guilty and ashamed that he struggles to look her in the eye as he tells her of how he DESPERATELY tried to resent her but couldn't, looking away once more with a bittersweet smile that quickly drops from his face, exposing his weariness and utter exhaustion for all to see. Wonderfully done, artists.
Something stirred in squirrelflight. As the emotions that had stirred within her ebbed away, and the scent of her old friends blood filled her nostrils, she coudnt help the resentment building with in her. Ashfur. Who she had nearly given her life over to. Who tore the clan apart, who tried to kill her- well, leafpools kits. Who tried to murder her father. She didnt have to let go of all of that. She was allowed to be mad. His death only prevented more damage to her family. Glancing at the smeared blood on her paw, she curled her lip. He deserved this, he had hurt her too many times. She smeared it across his pelt, and turned. With one last bittersweet glance back at ashfur she thought "I wont forget you. Or what you did."
I’m sorry that’s really good but that’s not really what happened, as some others said, she wiped the blood on Ashfur’s fur to show that he made the mistakes, not her. It’s completely fine if you changed your mind or something but just wanted to point out that.

The colors here are spectacular and every part flows so well to keep the mood, the song choice was perfect and such a chill pace for a warriors map.. it was exciting and heartfelt all the way through and it's impossible to look away from!! You and Egg really outdid yourself on the credits, they're BREATHTAKING and the constellation names are wonderful, ngl I got a bit teary eyed seeing mine LOL AND the END SCENE!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!! Squirrel really reckoning with her choice of forgiveness with the stake and the flame.. SO good. SO GOOD!!!! Wonderful work everyone, this is truly a standout map of our community!! as a person who knows nothing about warriors cats, and if does it's for to the maps, i am really...happy to see this wonderful project. I've seen all those maps and pmv and amvs about how troubled, disturbed their relationship has been and how bad it ended, that it was now really well known by my mind ahah. Today i can say that this project really surprised me, a kind of surprise which didn't happen since the 5 giants, this alternative ending made feel certain emotions that even to someone who lived on...maps, amvs, pmv, memes of the warriors without knowing a thing, could feel. I think that's a great acdhievement, you all did a wondeful job and had the brave to bring to life something not written in a book, or made into a video. GREAT GREAT JOB !

This is a map that teach us peoples can forgive but never forget.... My grandma has the same problem.. She had such a bad life.. She forgived the persons that did such bad things to her but will never forget what happend behind everything. The map is clean, smooth and beautiful. The animators and the creator did such great job and i like that the message behind this is teaching us something. Keep up the hard work!! ✨💕
That after credits scene gave me a lot of emotions. How I see it is Squirrelflight sobering up to remember the horrible actions he committed. Obviously his apology won’t solve things, but he apologized nonetheless, and both are able to put their dark past behind them - him moving on into Starclan and her wiping his blood off her paws and leaving his husk of a body behind - and look towards the future. And honestly, I see this amazing MAP as a beginning to an even bigger AU than just a sincere apology. I see it as Ashfur separating two sides of himself: the good spirit that sees sense in his actions and admits to his faults, thus granting him peace in Starclan, and the bad, the truly despicable and inexplicable side of him, not shown but stuck in his corpse. The bad side of him stays on earth as a ghost, left to wander forever. Annnddd... fast forward to The Broken Code... Bramblestar loses a life, and the bad side of Ashfur sees a chance, an opportunity. All the while the good side of Ashfur has no clue what the other side of him is about to unleash...
I love the symbolism of the whole map of where she wipes her paws clean, this entire MAP says that she will wipe her paws clean, she will forgive but never forget what he did. It’s such a beautiful way of her letting go, and not living in the past. So instead she will wipe her paws clean and let him go. I believe she wants him to finally be free and not carry that burden of what he has done, so instead she lets him rest in star clan by saying she forgives him.
Gosh this MAP is so gorgeous I'm so glad I was here for the premiere, everyone's parts were absolutely spectacular! Definitely one of my favorite MAPs of the year! I especially love what you did with the ending! At first I took it as a nod to Brambleclaw, that Ashfur's not the only cat who's wronged her and that he should be apologizing too. But then I remembered his contributions to Firestar's capture in the trap and it added that layer to it! It's like she's saying "I forgive you for some things, but you certainly aren't receiving any for taking one of my father's lives." Amazing concept all around, everyone please support every participant involved! :)
There are very few animations and maps in this fandom that make me cry. This is one of them. Sally, This map is one of the best multi-animator videos you’ve hosted. It’s one of the best I have ever seen. The music, the animation, the background, it’s just gorgeous. The scenes with the characters crying and hugging, uggghhh. Hit me with the feels. I love it. I like how uncomfortable Squirrel looks whenever Ash tries to get her to talk to him/play down what he did. She forgives him, yes, but she wants to move on; he has no right to try and force himself into her life, and I think that’s portrayed wonderfully here.
If y'all didnt know the french part is basicly sayin "I have suffered please forgive me" Wih then the girl that sings says "I forgive you" but like the part that says "You did not see right from wrong" and "Its time for me to move on" Its basicly saying That she forgives him but then reminding him of his actions and not completly frogiving him. The art combined with this song is so utterly beautiful, I saw the different languages as a separation in worlds, how Ash speaks French as he's dead, and Squirrel speaks English as she's alive.
I come back to this occasionally and I still really appreciate the juxtaposition of Squirrelflight forgiving Ashfur and specifically saying via the song that she’s moving on while Ashfur’s only takeaway is that she’s forgiven him for everything. Yet in the end we can see that she chose to forgive him even though it was hard so that she could, literally, wipe her hands of him and get on with her life. That post credits scene was a really brilliant addition and it’s my favorite part of the whole MAP because it totally changes the tone
this map turned out so lovely! the atmosphere, the lip sync, character designs and lighting was all absolutely gorgeous! it was definitely worth the wait, the quality in everyones part was just MMMM CHEFS KISS good job everyone! definitely one of my favorite maps now

The ending scene both hurts and makes me feel good, squirrelflight knows ashfur made awful choices and doesn't pity him, but she refuses to hate him entirely. She has to move on and leave him alone.

the ending credit scenes was such an amazing addition. though the positivity that surrounds this map is there it still makes it _very_ clear that what ashfur did wasn't, and never will be okay. squirrelflight's grief, and her choice that was an act of mercy, was _not fueled by guilt,_ but by the friendship they had before that, and their clanmate relationship
This map is stunningly gorgeous; every time it switched animators I got chills by how beautifully everyone did. I am absolutely in awe of the work put in and the sheer skill every single person who participated had. Can I just say, I have watched this so many times and the more I do, the more it seems like during the whole song Squirrelflight has this guarded look in her eyes like she is taking everything with a grain of salt even as she is singing she forgives Ashfur and I think that detail is so amazing.

edit: the fact people babysat this video just to dislike is pathetic What makes this even more special is that as a host you kept the map going, no matter what went wrong. It was quite the process to be able to get all the parts in, with people dropping out and/not getting their part done it’s easy to give up. But the fact you pushed along to completion is so inspiring. I personally am not extremely familiar with the warriors characters, arches, relationships, etc, etc, despite me drawing them all the time lol, but this made it easy to understand the story despite it being an AU as well! FANTASTIC job everyone, well worth the wait.

My depiction of the end scene: Just because Squirrelflight forgave Ashfur it doesn't mean his actions were justified. Squirrelflight rubbing the blood back onto Ashfur's pelt symbolizes that the blood is still on Ashfur's paws.

Wow those credits are gorgeous and the after credits scene adds so much! I like the thought that maybe she was romanticizing their friendship in this wave of sudden loss but then she comes back to the reality that Ashfur hurt her and the cats she loved. It can be a mix of emotions when someone you were close to who also hurt you passes! Anyways the parts for this map have blown me away over the years and it's great to see it finished!

Well, thank you for such a beautiful MAP. When I first learned about this concept, I was glad that at least someone sees Ashfar as a positive character. Now, every time I watch this video, I want to cry. Knowing what the Hunters did to my favorite character in the Broken Code makes me want to die even more. I know it sounds strange, but I have some problems with (mental) health, and books about warriors are one of the most positive memories of my childhood. I think no one here will hear me, but this is rather a cry of the soul that needed to be realized for a long time. I understand that this is all pointless and useless, but I hope that at least someone will hear me. I'm sorry
My interpretation of the end credits scene is while Squirrelflight (mostly) forgives Ashfur, she realizes nothing can redeem his actions, and the blood isn’t on her own paws.
I'm so excited! Been following this project since it was announced and seeing it complete is amazing. As always with all of these artists, gorgeous work, amazing teamwork, and just... incredible result. Thank you all. Sagutoyas I don't know how you do it, your animation is so vibrant, so smooth, and you manage to portray things so clearly without a lot of extra lines or motions- the end where she wipes her paw, you managed to convey the texture of the fur and the lack of give or return motion a dead body has perfectly... as someone who grew up in the sticks I've seen and touched my share of dead things and it was instantly recognizable that Ashfur was not alive when she touched him. But when you animate characters who are alive touching, it's just as obvious that they are solidly interacting and that they are two live bodies in some kind of contact. I'm consistently so impressed with your work and those small details do NOT go unnoticed or unappreciated! I'm always in awe of all of you, but Sagutoyas I LOVE your attention to detail.

Something I really love about this MAP is that even though you’ve mentioned none of The Broken Code events have occurred, I think it works really well as an explanation for Ashfur’s actions. I could see him twisting this whole event to support his theory that Squirrelflight secretly loves him, and motivating his actions for the whole arc. Great work everyone!

Something stirred in squirrelflight. As the emotions that had stirred within her ebbed away, and the scent of her old friends blood filled her nostrils, she coudnt help the resentment building with in her.
Ashfur. Who she had nearly given her life over to. Who tore the clan apart, who tried to kill her- well, leafpools kits. Who tried to murder her father.
She didnt have to let go of all of that. She was allowed to be mad. His death only prevented more damage to her family.
Glancing at the smeared blood on her paw, she curled her lip. He deserved this, he had hurt her too many times.
She smeared it across his pelt, and turned. With one last bittersweet glance back at ashfur she thought
"I wont forget you. Or what you did."
I’m sorry that’s really good but that’s not really what happened, as some others said, she wiped the blood on Ashfur’s fur to show that he made the mistakes, not her. It’s completely fine if you changed your mind or something but just wanted to point out that.

WOW. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE POWERMOVE OF A MAP. THE LINEUP HERE WAS JUST . BEYOND GODLY AND I AM SOSOSOOOO HONORED TO BE APART OF THIS!!!!! The colors here are spectacular and every part flows so well to keep the mood, the song choice was perfect and such a chill pace for a warriors map.. it was exciting and heartfelt all the way through and it's impossible to look away from!! You and Egg really outdid yourself on the credits, they're BREATHTAKING and the constellation names are wonderful, ngl I got a bit teary eyed seeing mine LOL AND the END SCENE!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!! as a person who knows nothing about warriors cats, and if does it's for to the maps, i am really...happy to see this wonderful project. I've seen all those maps and pmv and amvs about how troubled, disturbed their relationship has been and how bad it ended, that it was now really well known by my mind ahah. Today i can say that this project really surprised me, a kind of surprise which didn't happen since the 5 giants, this alternative ending made feel certain emotions that even to someone who lived on...maps, amvs, pmv, memes of the warriors without knowing a thing, could feel. I think that's a great acdhievement, you all did a wondeful job and had the brave to bring to life something not written in a book, or made into a video. GREAT GREAT JOB !

This is a map that teach us peoples can forgive but never forget.... My grandma has the same problem.. She had such a bad life.. She forgived the persons that did such bad things to her but will never forget what happend behind everything. The map is clean, smooth and beautiful. The animators and the creator did such great job and i like that the message behind this is teaching us something. Keep up the hard work!! ✨💕
That after credits scene gave me a lot of emotions.
How I see it is Squirrelflight sobering up to remember the horrible actions he committed. Obviously his apology won’t solve things, but he apologized nonetheless, and both are able to put their dark past behind them - him moving on into Starclan and her wiping his blood off her paws and leaving his husk of a body behind - and look towards the future.
And honestly, I see this amazing MAP as a beginning to an even bigger AU than just a sincere apology. I see it as Ashfur separating two sides of himself: the good spirit that sees sense in his actions and admits to his faults, thus granting him peace in Starclan, and the bad, the truly despicable and inexplicable side of him, not shown but stuck in his corpse. The bad side of him stays on earth as a ghost, left to wander forever.
Annnddd... fast forward to The Broken Code... Bramblestar loses a life, and the bad side of Ashfur sees a chance, an opportunity. All the while the good side of Ashfur has no clue what the other side of him is about to unleash...

I love the symbolism of the whole map of where she wipes her paws clean, this entire MAP says that she will wipe her paws clean, she will forgive but never forget what he did. It’s such a beautiful way of her letting go, and not living in the past. So instead she will wipe her paws clean and let him go. I believe she wants him to finally be free and not carry that burden of what he has done, so instead she lets him rest in star clan by saying she forgives him.
Gosh this MAP is so gorgeous I'm so glad I was here for the premiere, everyone's parts were absolutely spectacular! Definitely one of my favorite MAPs of the year!
I especially love what you did with the ending! At first I took it as a nod to Brambleclaw, that Ashfur's not the only cat who's wronged her and that he should be apologizing too. But then I remembered his contributions to Firestar's capture in the trap and it added that layer to it! It's like she's saying "I forgive you for some things, but you certainly aren't receiving any for taking one of my father's lives."

I like how uncomfortable Squirrel looks whenever Ash tries to get her to talk to him/play down what he did. She forgives him, yes, but she wants to move on; he has no right to try and force himself into her life, and I think that’s portrayed wonderfully here.
If y'all didnt know the french part is basicly sayin "I have suffered please forgive me" Wih then the girl that sings says "I forgive you" but like the part that says "You did not see right from wrong" and "Its time for me to move on" Its basicly saying That she forgives him but then reminding him of his actions and not completly frogiving him. That last Scene was the biggest plot twist I had this year.
The art combined with this song is so utterly beautiful, I saw the different languages as a separation in worlds, how Ash speaks French as he's dead, and Squirrel speaks English as she's alive.
I come back to this occasionally and I still really appreciate the juxtaposition of Squirrelflight forgiving Ashfur and specifically saying via the song that she’s moving on while Ashfur’s only takeaway is that she’s forgiven him for everything. Yet in the end we can see that she chose to forgive him even though it was hard so that she could, literally, wipe her hands of him and get on with her life.
That post credits scene was a really brilliant addition and it’s my favorite part of the whole MAP because it totally changes the tone

though the positivity that surrounds this map is there it still makes it _very_ clear that what ashfur did wasn't, and never will be okay. squirrelflight's grief, and her choice that was an act of mercy, was _not fueled by guilt,_ but by the friendship they had before that, and their clanmate relationship
This map is stunningly gorgeous; every time it switched animators I got chills by how beautifully everyone did. I am absolutely in awe of the work put in and the sheer skill every single person who participated had. What makes this even more special is that as a host you kept the map going, no matter what went wrong. It was quite the process to be able to get all the parts in, with people dropping out and/not getting their part done it’s easy to give up. But the fact you pushed along to completion is so inspiring. I personally am not extremely familiar with the warriors characters, arches, relationships, etc, etc, despite me drawing them all the time lol, but this made it easy to understand the story despite it being an AU as well! FANTASTIC job everyone, well worth the wait.

This whole MAP is gorgeous, but i feel like we don't really appreciate the work put into backgrounds in this MAP.

0:20 I just really love SquirrelFlight's expression here like you can see he's hurt her but she still can't let what she used to feel for him go and like I've felt that before where I hate this person because they've hurt me time and time again but I can't just let them go as I've been close friends with them, then again we've sorted things out because we were both kids and being really petty but none the less I still love that I hate you but I care for you expression.

Wow those credits are gorgeous and the after credits scene adds so much! I like the thought that maybe she was romanticizing their friendship in this wave of sudden loss but then she comes back to the reality that Ashfur hurt her and the cats she loved. It can be a mix of emotions when someone you were close to who also hurt you passes! Anyways the parts for this map have blown me away over the years and it's great to see it finished!

Well, thank you for such a beautiful MAP. When I first learned about this concept, I was glad that at least someone sees Ashfar as a positive character. Now, every time I watch this video, I want to cry. Knowing what the Hunters did to my favorite character in the Broken Code makes me want to die even more. I know it sounds strange, but I have some problems with (mental) health, and books about warriors are one of the most positive memories of my childhood. I think no one here will hear me, but this is rather a cry of the soul that needed to be realized for a long time. I understand that this is all pointless and useless, but I hope that at least someone will hear me.

My interpretation of the end credits scene is while Squirrelflight (mostly) forgives Ashfur, she realizes nothing can redeem his actions, and the blood isn’t on her own paws.
I'm so excited! Been following this project since it was announced and seeing it complete is amazing. As always with all of these artists, gorgeous work, amazing teamwork, and just... incredible result. Thank you all. Sagutoyas I don't know how you do it, your animation is so vibrant, so smooth, and you manage to portray things so clearly without a lot of extra lines or motions- the end where she wipes her paw, you managed to convey the texture of the fur and the lack of give or return motion a dead body has perfectly... as someone who grew up in the sticks I've seen and touched my share of dead things and it was instantly recognizable that Ashfur was not alive when she touched him. But when you animate characters who are alive touching, it's just as obvious that they are solidly interacting and that they are two live bodies in some kind of contact.
