I think the first 40k unit I ever fully painted was my unit of wraithblades from the start collecting box!
I got into elder as my first army due to the wraithlord and blade/guard. I enjoyed them so much I brought another box of wraithguard and I didn’t even play the game back then I just liked having them on my shelves
Ghostaxe wraithblades some of the sickest of models in the game imo 😍
Always loved my Wraithguard. The OG rules. ABSOLUTELY BROKEN. Made the necrons look tame.
And, of course, the Rule of Cool always applies. 😎 Wraithblades look cool, and so are worth fielding.
I love how you point out you prefer the blades, i prefer the blades too. I have storm guardians, banshees and wraith blades all with blades painted the same
View for the algorithm god. Comment for the engagement throne!

I'm fairly new to 40K, and I started Collecting Aeldari mid 2022 because of the wraiths, I love how they look.
Love wraiths! Have run a pure wraith list on and off for a long time! Such a cool unit as well!
Running 10 + 2 units of 5 blades. And 10 Canon guards. And 2 lords at warhammer world next month lmao (+some gubbins like spiders etc). I just love them. Expecting to go 5 losses.
Hahaha, that is AWESOME!!
I love my wraithblades, they always end up being my mvp in games, they soak up so much damage with fortune on them and are a great distraction carnifex
In addition I think fates messenger on the spiritseer is still good with the wraithblades allowing you to flip a failed saving throw
Love seeing a fellow Iybraesil player. Also I love the Wraithblades, probably a bit too much as I have no wraithcannon wielding Wraithguard. I keep forgetting about the Farseer on foot being able to help everyone and not just his own unit.
theyre just so much cooler than guard imo, mini dreadnoughts with a shield and axe slapping people around lol
I’m returning to the hobby after 17 years gone. Thanks for your work
Fantastic commentary and information! Great video, thanks for the upload Brent!
You rock man! Love your videos and thank you for always sharing so much knowledge!
I HAVE SUCH A WEAKNESS FOR UNRESERVED ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT!
Thank you :)
Love the channel, please keep them coming!
Great breakdown. Thanks Brent. 👍🤘
My pleasure
Can’t wait to view Brent, nice one
This will pair nicely with my morning coffee ☕ Greetings from Aus
I actually love when people tell me where they are from in these comments- thank you :)
No worries!
Also, not sure if you're aware but Auspex Tactics just gave you a shoutout in his latest Eldar vid.
On an unrelated note, incase you weren't aware, windriders seem to have received a pseudo buff via the latest Necrons FAQ about Lokhust Destroyers, since their re-rolls abilities have the same wording. Don't need to be closest to the unit on the objective for the full re-rolls. Unless I'm missing something...
@@Sealbag thank you! I had no idea- I really like Auspex Tactics. I will also look into the Necron thing; it's something else I didn't know
Here's the link to the FAQ: www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/S5ThB5tL9CLxVU3a.pdf
And here's the description of the ability it references from Battlescribe:
Lokhust Destroyers
Hard-wired for Destruction - Each time a model in this unit makes a ranged attack that targets the closest eligible enemy unit, re-roll a Hit roll of 1. If the target of that attack is within range of an objective marker your opponent controls, you can re-roll the Hit roll instead.
My favorite unit!
Im hoping these will see a price drop compared to the Guard. That'll then make them a viable competitive choice
My eldar list has a big brick of 10 wraithguard w/ cannons, 10 blades with shields, 2 wraithlords, skathack wraitknight, a squad of rangers and 2 squads of hawks
Wraithblades are like the Alarus terminators of the custodes. Insanely tough that you'llunderstand only after you play them and they do crazy dmg in melee. Definatelly a great unit that it's only problem is that it exists in the Aeldari codex where there are so many better options.
Whoa dude, massive upgrade to your intro!!
?? It's the same intro as always 🤣
@@WBConcilio Still very cool though 😉
@@davidfeline5850 I'll take it!!
Nice
How much does the nerf to Phantasm effect the viability of these guys?
It's a blow, but you can still use Fire and Fade to rocket across the board turn 1- be sure to use a Fate die for the auto advance though
They can also allow you to summon a blue eyes white dragon into your games of 40k
I am pretty disappointed that the Wraithguard and Wraith Knight just outshine the other wraith units so much. I love my Wraithblades and Wraithlords, but they’re just not of the same caliber as the shooty wraiths.
Intro volume needs lowering and voice volume needs a bump, bout went deaf then couldnt hear you
Helko
*Wraith. Nice
The plastic wraith infantry are old? Ugh, I remember when you paid $25 each for monopose metal models if you wanted wraithguard…
I am so old that I remember when you could get to monopose wraith models in one blister pack for eight bucks
3rd ed monpose models, never even got a unit of em cos of that.
I had doomstalkers kill 7 wraithblades with axes in 1 shooting phase
OUCH!!!
Did the Wraithseer have Fortune?
7:41 Sorry Brent, Cover cannot improve a save to better than 3+, so cover doesn't matter to AP-1 weapons.
Great explanation on the movement tricks, pretty savage to move this 20-27" turn 1! 😂
Been a fan of Wraith Army since I bought an Iyanden Battle Force back in 3rd, loving the content. Cheers.
It does matter. Reread the cover rules; cover doesn't benefit models with a save of 3 or better against AP 0- so a 3up save cannot become a 2up save. But models with 3up or 2up save in cover still get a bonus against attack that DO have AP. A model with a 2up save naturally that is in cover still saves on a 2up against -1AP, but a model with 3up can never get to 2up with cover
What do you guys think of 2 squads of 5?
Then you can have both blades and axes.
With 2 Spiritseers that's 2 revives per command phase.
I don't think it is two revives- I think an opponent will kill one squad, then the other to avoid giving you multiple revives. Also, you can't make two squads both fast,- and in small numbers, their OC is low. I think it's hard to use them especially well or be especially clever with two fives, but against very casual opponents, they would probably do just fine
@@WBConcilio makes sense.
Wraiths are probably one of the only cool models in the Eldar range
