Follow along as I design and build a transducer mount for the installation of my Garmin Echomap 63CV on my 2011 Sea Doo RXT X260. This video is the final installment where I show how to install the Echomap on a 2007-2011 full sized Sea Doo without drilling additional holes in the hull.

I lake tested the sonar on the Sea Doo this evening. At high speeds, the depth reading occasionally cuts out for a few seconds but generally I am getting consistent readings. I tried it in a river where we are trying to locate a wreck and the down imaging was reliably indicating underwater vegetation. We did't find the wreck but I was very happy with the Garmin's performance.
you prolly dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies and series on Instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last days :)
@Alexis Alaric yea, been using Instaflixxer for since december myself :D
I have a 2020 Fish Pro, wasn’t happy with the factory Garmin Echomaps Chartploter/Fishfinder. So I replaced almost everything, and upgraded to a Garmin Echomaps UHD 94sv. This gave me the GT56UHD Transducer with Side Scan, and Down Scan capabilities. Also added the Panoptix Liveview Transducer System, for the utmost clarity in the water. Still using the inboard transducer for over 35 mph, while adding two transom mounts for low and intermediate speeds. Can’t wait to try these out, Liveview can be set for forward view while moving, or down view while stationary. With mount modifications it’ll do stationary Side scan.
I have the UHD 93SV for use on my pontoon project. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but hopefully I'll be on the water in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for watching.
Could you please tell us what mountain bracket are you used to install Garmin 94sv? I got this fishfinder for my RXT but can’t fined right bracket.
Nice video getting my jetski and planning on doing something sim. Interested in running the cables some close ups of how to do that tidy would make it perfect. But great video
Thanks for watching
Nice to have metal working equipment. I just settled for a SternSaver mini. no fuss
I do have some decent metal working equipment but I understand that not everyone does. A few of the other videos that I have put together show a more basic method of making mounts using somewhat more basic tools.
Great installation 😊 thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment
Nice work!

Nice video! Did you have any problem getting the screws out of the folding ladder? I have attempted to remove mine and the screws seems to keep turning and they are not coming undone! Also, would you be willing to make another plate and sell it? Great job!
In the ladder kit that I bought from my local Sea Doo dealer, there were three different screw sets for use on different model Sea Doos. If I remember correctly, one of those fastener types used a Nylock style locking nut. If you have locking nus on the inside of your hull, that would explain why your step screws/bolts won't come out.
If you want a transducer plate, contact me at dougsmessygarage@gmail.com and we can figure out the details
I wish i was brave enough to do something like this to my 2020 RXT. I'm so scared of making holes on my Jet Ski. Great Job💪
the installation of the step is fairly straight forward. Check out ruclips.net/video/R1XEU_lQnUk/видео.html to see the installation process.
Very nice

Can you show more of how you mounted the gps with the ram mount?
Check out ruclips.net/video/e-tbkHeVhrY/видео.html
Hi Doug,
Would you be able to make me similar plate. My seadoo is GTR 230 exactly same ladder.
I use Garmin Striker 5CV with same transducer as yours .
Let me know how much?
Hi Roy. At this moment I am not really tooled up to manufacture more of these brackets. However, you are not the first to ask if I had them available for sale so it may be worth my time to manufacture a few and see how they sell. Stay tuned to the channel towards the end of January and I will have a video that shows what I have in mind. You can drop me a line at dougsmessygarage@gmail.com.
Hello, do you make these plates and sell them for other seadoos? I have a 2020 RXTX and and searching everywhere for something like this.
Unfortunately, no I do not manufacture these to sell. My equipment is fine for prototyping or messing around with aluminum but is not up to mass production. I am working on a video where I show how to make one with more common tools though but I haven't sorted out when that will be coming out.
Hi Doug, did you end up having water come in via the lid where the cable runs?
Not a drop. The fiberglass lip of the hull was notched by a previous owner (I'm guessing for a battery tender) and that appears to work well. I'm not a crazy rider though, no full speed power braking so I don't know how much water ends up splashing on the rear deck anyway.
@@DougsMessyGarage thanks Doug, I did the exact same install and the notch alone was letting way too much water in under way. I built up a taper with double sided tape so the rubber seal didn’t need to do such an aggressive bend around the cable. Seemed to improve it. Could be that my rubber seals are old, ordered some new ones.
Those lids get a lot water sprayed around them if you’re not up and especially when you have extra weight on the back.
@@timslifeonthecoast I'd like to drill the cable through the hull with a water tight fitting but This summer has gotten away from me. I haven't even pulled my machine out of storage this year.
@@DougsMessyGarage do you think a hole through the hull will effect resale value? I know it can be sealed easily but just concerned when I go to trade it in the dealer or buyer might try and use that to get price down. (As I would also haha)
@@timslifeonthecoast Possibly. Around where I live, the market is so hot for used machines that a well installed wire port would not make any difference but your market may be different.
Do you sale the mount you just built.
What model garmin transducer you install?
It was the one that came with my Echomap 63CV but I am pretty sure it is a GT-20.
@@DougsMessyGarage thank
How did you mount this to the SeaDoo?
I sandwiched the mount between the base of the ladder and the hull of the Sea Doo
@@DougsMessyGarage I’m sorry. I meant how did you mount the gps unit to the ski? The actual garmin head unit by the handle bars
@@benschroeder1161 Ben, check out:
ruclips.net/video/e-tbkHeVhrY/видео.html
@@DougsMessyGarage thanks. Hows the transducer hold up when you take on waves? Or do you not jump the ski?
@@benschroeder1161 So far it has held up pretty well but I don't usually catch too much air. I'm more of a explore the area rider than I am a 'bang my machine off waves'. Having the sonar is nice for the exploring part.
well you never showed the cable layout or the power wiring ..wasn't that easy.. was it?
I believe the wiring was covered in the first video in the series where I show the mounting if the chartplotter. I plan on re-shooting the transducer mount video in the near future showing how it can be built with more common shop tools. I will include your suggestion of better explaining the wiring when I do the update. Thanks for watching.
any chance you'd be willing to make one of these now? lol
I am in the process of setting up a CNC plasma cutter (See latest video) Once I have it up and running, I will hopefully be able to reliably make these plates for sale.
You should file a pattern on the bracket and sell it if you haven’t
Setting up to sell these brackets is on my To-Do list but hasn't made it to the top quite yet.
@@DougsMessyGarage You be a millionaire
You'll find lots of wrecks
Would you be willing to make another mounting plate and sell it to me?
What model machine and what model plotter/transducer do you have?
2018 GTX, from the rear it looks the same. Same step ladder mounting base.
@@alexandrotrevino8560 Which transducer do you have?
@@DougsMessyGarage I have the same I contacted you via gmail I’m semi desperate at this point 300 rxtx 2018 helix 10 transducer
