    Good video, thanks. I just installed mine and the dry test failed. I'll be testing in the lake soon. Also, Sea Doo makes a bilge pump kit for this ski ('23 300 gtx limited) that hooks up to the existing hoses out the back tunnel where the existing venturi system (I assume) exits. I just installed that and it's a clean install. The pump has a life of 300 hours I am told and it runs continuous via the fuse box. I have seen another video install of the sea doo depth finder like this one and they had to plug it in a few times to get it to work. HOpefully that won't be necessary.

    Does the gel pad replace the need for fluid like the other seadoo depth finders that are in hull which require fluid in the transducer

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  Год назад

      We're not aware of the other ones that require fluid. The ones we've installed always require a gel pad. Luckily, instructions are included with each depth finder and they're clear on what's required. If you're interested in a specific model, you can do a search and download the instructions before purchasing. Good luck.

      @@3ftDeepChannel I have a 2019 fish pro and it has coolant in the transducer, there is a clear tube that extends up that I fill with coolant, aprox once a year I add a few ounces to it, I am guessing that the gel pad replaces that fluid

    • @3ftDeepChannel

      The “Right Stuff” isn’t a marine grade epoxy glue (that was used in our first attempt, but for some reason wouldn’t cure). The right stuff is used in engine sealing applications. Good luck.

      @@3ftDeepChannel Per the 3M website. Alcohol should not be used in preparation for bonding as it will interfere with the curing process, causing the adhesive to fail. I've had this happen with other adhesives. Great video as always. Thanks, guys!! I'll be doing this for my 24 RXT-X

      That normal 5200 also takes 5-7 days to cure, he needed to use the fast cure 5200 and it reacts with moisture to cure. No alcohol should be used as its stated on 3M's page.
