I think your videos and messages are very inspiring and makes me more interesting in Jamaica. Before coming to jamaica, I watched your videos, and you helped me understand my culture more. Now, I'm being in Jamaica right now, I can see the beauty, and I know I can't do everything on my bucket list in one trip. I'm coming back next year ❤ as I love 🇯🇲 ❤😎
Jess! Just keep on doing what you are doing! Just be careful, don't take anything for granted! You love people, but don't be too trusting, because some people just don't have no conscience! Do not venture in places that is away from the public eye! places 😮
So glad you found Throp. From what I’ve seen over the past few years, you’re collaborating with a good soul. He has been such an inspiration to the RUclips community. Wishing you the best, Jess. I love your courage and desire for adventure.❤
Originating in the Pacific the Jamaican ‘Otaheite’ apple was brought to Jamaica by English officer in the Royal Navy, Captain William Bligh. Containing 91 per cent of water, the fruit can sometimes turn from a rosy red colour, to one resembling a purple hue. Otaheite is the former name for the island of Tahiti. In terms of shape, it resembles a pear and its skin colour when ripe is a glossy red. Also called Jamaican apple, Malay apple, rose apple and mountain Apple.
Big respect to you young lady!always know your surroundings, Jamaica is a beautiful place however never lower you guard because as in anywhere there maybe a few that will take advantage of your situation. Being a beautiful woman and by yourself. Friendly is good but I’m just want you to be safe at all times. Apart from that, enjoy that beautiful island along with the food etc! One love, much respect.
Your comment is kind and very balanced... Jamaica is beautiful and the vibes is second to none, but when you know and understand the other side as well,it will make you more cautious and aware, which is very important
Back packing was a trend then but the all inclusive hotel come in an cut the trend its still around mostly in Portland a guy named CHUCKY in Portland very famous 🙏👍🇯🇲.
The greener coconuts are a bit younger which is why this coconut did not have as much jelly. However, both green and the yellowish-green ones have about the same amount of coconut water and they are both good to eat/drink.
The plantains taste good when it is eaten raw but it has to be well ripe, It is a very good food,You can eat it raw ,fry it ,Cook it in boiling water when it is green with a little salt or when it is ripe roast it on open fire 🔥 when it is ripe ❤️👍🇱🇷🇯🇲🇯🇲 .
Thank you Jess! I'm enjoying your videos! You're naturally caring, I can tell by the way you interact with the locals and your concern for those who are struggling on the island. I live in the UK but videos like yours give me nostalgia! I love what you're doing! See, at least one person went backpacking in 🇯🇲 because of your videos. Loads more will follow after watching your videos, I'm sure about that! Just a little tip when choosing Jamaican apples, always choose the very dark ones, they are the ripest and usually sweet. I also eat very ripe plantains. It's more dense in fibre and would fill you up quicker than a ripe banana would. I used to eat the okra raw, straight from the tree, as we grew them in our yard. Now, living abroad, I steam the okra or cook in stews because I'm sure they're sprayed with chemicals to preserve for the journey abroad. On my last visit to Jamaica, I was in the Ochi area as I needed to visit relatives in St Mary, St Ann and Kingston. Next visit, I will spend some time in Negril. I love the natural way of life and the fruits and veg, plus the Rastas! The real Rasta living is holistic. I can see you dig them! 😃 Youve got a beautiful spirit within, it shines right through and touches those who watch your videos! Just a little suggestion about your dad, as a parent of grown ups myself. Next time you speak with him, just be straight with him. Let him know what you're doing. He may disapprove or become concerned for you, but that's the love of a parent, plus he has those ideals for you. Try and reassure him by telling him how fulfilled your life is, by doing this. Words have life, when you're done speaking and your dad is alone, he will consider what you said and that's how he could begin to see your point of view. Take care and thanks for your awesome contents! Bless up Jess! 🙏🏽 ❤ 🤗
Des I appreciate this comment so much. Thank you so much for the advice especially regarding telling my dad. I definitely will tell him soon, so I will keep you guys updated ☺️ thank you again for the support… I feel super grateful 🙏🏼 Bless up yourself big time 🤍

Hi Jess! This is great news about your colloboration with Throp. Happy for you, and well done! Bless up to you and Throp. Keep up with your interesting, inspirational and enjoyable videos. Stay blessed and safe Jess. Love from UK 🇬🇧
Hi Jess, great vlog - the Jamaican apple is also known as the Otaheite Apple. Apparently it originates out of Malaysia and was brought to Jamaica by an English officer, Captain Bligh in it contains 91 per cent of water. He also brought the first breadfruit tree which was planted in St Thomas at the Bath Botanical Garden where he 'discovered' it in Tahiti in 1793. I tell you Jess, Jamaica has great history.
I love how you give great detail and show the different ins and outs. I spent an entire month in Jamaica not too long ago so a lot of stuff you were saying I already knew but it’s a great refresher. I’m trying to come and do a longer stay as soon as possible!!
Can we take the time to appreciate how well Jess uses Patois ( patwah) in the proper context. A mean my girl look like she born the wrong place. Welcome home baby Love Cadena from NY 🇯🇲
Yeah, I've never eaten a ripe plantain like a banana before lol. That Apple you ate would taste a bit tangy...you should have gotten a darker one (deeper red)...those are more sweet.
Hey Jess. Glad you like the plantain raw but there are many other ways to do it such as cutting in 2 or 3 parts and microwave it or cook it in boiling water until soft, also on an open fire like grilling it but it seems sweeter when cooked. Also want to say back in the 80s & 90s before the All Inclusive took over, Tourists were seen all around the streets of Negril, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, etc. and many shopped in the Craft Markets, but it would be great to see it return in even a small way. Also have seen other vloggers such as I'm Marwah who stayed in Hostels in Kingston as well as Japanese visitors, Maybe, you could see what that's all about., Also I believe the Bike guy was honest about what he charged. They tend to charge differently being single client only rides. Continue to stay safe and stay blessed.
I've lived here for 35 years and you already know more places than I do lol when giving your RUclips channel to ppl say SS instead of double S because some ppl might think your saying W just like the man you met at the first coconut vendor and try east-Indian mango's next time they are the best mangos on 🌎 my favorite
It took me 8 days to finally get time to watch this video and you haven’t disappointed 😃 you’ve been Jamaicanized for sure! That “bomboclaat” was said with the right tone for the situation 🤣🤣🤣 one love Jess 🇯🇲
Hey Jess, next time eat the apple first - it is not very sweet but very nice . it is called Otaheite apple. The tamarind makes it taste more bland. Bigup u damn self!. Love how u deal with the bikeman, you have great vibes.
Hi Bless Up Jess. Thank you for showing your Jamaica visit. You could have cleared the air by telling the man how much you payed for the Jelly in MoBay. ❤❤❤ Really loving your blogs Jess awesome job. Welcome home cause you obviously belong here. Plantain can be had raw you are not weird 😂 so many things to do with a plantain. Also next time buy a apple that is darker in color it's sweeter and riper.
Hi, Jess, here's a tip for you, next time you buy a Jamaican apple remember that the sweeter ones are a dark purple colour, the darker the sweeter (true) lol. The one you bought from the family looked red and young, so wouldn't be sweeter and next time eat the apple before the plantain as the plantain will always have a sweeter taster. You might be starting a new trend of eating ripe uncooked plantain. Nah Sah not me! Loved the impromptu dancer at 2:18 into the vlog. 🤣
😂whenever I'm frying plantain I have to add 1 more than needed as rest assure I will eat few slices before it reach the oil😂. My brother always ask me if me sure me a Jamaican?😂
The Apple is called O'Tahitti Apples. That one is not ripe. You should choose the darker red almost purple ones next time. You have a vide Jess! Enjoy my home land.
I started watching with intrigue and noted you have a good vibe. I like the fact you appreciate showing gratitude to the kindness and support from locals. Based on that I decided to subscribe.

Hi Jess, loving your vlogs and thanks for choosing to showcase the beautiful island of Jamaica and showing what a great and safe place Jamaica is to visit. Keep on doing your thing. Looking forward to your Collab with @Throp. Biggup yourself.
Don't mind me Jess, just binging some of your vids I haven't seen. As a Jamaican who loves her plantain thinly sliced and slightly brown and crispy, I could never eat a plantain raw. Though my mum has said to me growing up, I can eat plantain raw. You betta dan me gurl😄 Also you could try dis with the tamarind. Now I don't know if Australians did this as teens, but with gummy bears we would combine 2/3 gummy bears with our fingers, occasionally licking it to create a spiderweb like paste that becomes white and then we eat it. We called it the "twine twine twine stretch". Just a fun thing we did to play with our food I guess.😁 But Ive also done it with tamarind.
Your fun, just stumbled on your channel. Touching down in yard next week. Can’t wait trust me , your energy is amazing. Stay safe love and guidance 🖤🙏🏾🖤 Ps love the way you show positivity within the community
"I got so much things to say right now, so much things to say..🤣" Where to start? Jess i hereby nominate you to be the official ambassador for Australia to Jamaica. Your ability to connect with the people is unmatched. My brother just moved to Lucea so it was really sumn else to be able to sit here and watch you talk me through where to go get a taxi and what my various travel options are. I've never been to Negril, but I nuh feel seh I man a guh lost when I reach thanks to you. Your content is valuable not just to foreigners but also to locals as well! Also the fact that you were able to reach people abroad who have already made it back to Jamaica to let you know that you have been an inspiration is the most wholesome thing i've seen in a long time. I was a bit worried when you were saying how much you enjoy doing the food vids but when I heard tht u were heading to the gym I realized that you have your priorities in order. That collab is gonna be amazing! Make sure u remember to tag him when u do any gym content or even if u call him name in the vids or mention his properties/ work etc. N please remember to leave links to your collabs socials and all dem likkle things. I really hope you go viral b Jess must have been Ras Ta' in a past life to rhatid... Yes Jess, is suh nuff Ras consume plantain (ripe&raw), and is suh nuff a InI consume okra too; raw same way. The main feature about the Jamaican apple is the fact that it's (usually) very juicy, although really, really, reeeeeealy ripe ones can be sweet. The other day i ate tamrind until the citric acid nearly burn up inside mi mouth to how mi tek set pon di poor tree. The yellow coconuts are a different variety but yes dem tend to be sweet, fi true. And next time please try wake him caah him would certainly appreciate the business, and surely u would appreciate ur money's worth of cold sweet jelly water. Also Jess my love, that was the most natural "bumboclaat" me hear from a non-Jamaican, probably ever! Right now a jus you and "Swaggy" my girl.😂 Please go see Errol and Swaggy! (Life with the Stevens on YT). Nb: Jamaicans routinely eat Spiced Bun and cheese during Easter, so give it a try if you can! Also InI will be flying kites around this time too, so look out for those as well! Big up fi real, inna real life mi sisteren! Yuh full a soul from head to toe & u heart big like Marcus Garvey head 🤣🥰

All the best and hoping to see more collaborations👌🏿
Thanks you 🙏🏼 bless up
Be safe Jess…Have you been to St Ann yet, it is the most beautiful parish in Jamaica. The people are super great.

Ps love the way you show positivity within the community
Regarding the coconut, it’s best if the water is clear. It shouldn’t have a brownish tint/hue.
Love what you are doing! Love from the Netherlands
Jelly man snooze and loose 😂stay safe Jess 🙏🏽❤️🇯🇲
I really hope you go viral b
Jess must have been Ras Ta' in a past life to rhatid...
