Actually we not even suppose to fried plantain, but we do! but raw plantain is nice, person who are not into eating health would understand, when u eat raw plantain u get all the nutrient from it, I just like to eat food that are native to the planet even though Plantain is a hybrid fruit but its way better than bread still ...

Hey Jess Naam, is only used in certain circumstances, although its patois it's not the first thing Jamaicans use to say eat. Generally, its only when exaggerating. So, mash it up is generally used more than naam when exaggerating. If you check out 'Swaggy-pon-di-Island' vlogs, you will see her in action speaking patois. She's a young Russian who's lived in Jamaica for the past 3-4 years or so with her Jamaican family. she's amazing. Big up!!

Like your spiteful persona as you soars from anonymity towards the infinite ceiling of RUclips.
Brent, it’s no surprise you haven’t cook that porridge b4 though you let it look like you’ve done it a thousand times.
Cooking is a work of art and if you like it, it’s just a matter of putting your touch and assembling ingredients of your choice.
Brent to add to the experience you wear a ready and polite smiling demeanor throughout.
I must ask, because during the entire filming I kept wondering “ is this CAT COORE son?”….are you?
Nice collab Jess, you and Brent have a beautiful chemistry infront the lens; would like to see another linkup.

Hey Jess. Great video. Your host should have told you that you can make plantain chips from the green plantains before it turns yellow and also the same with the green bananas. In fact, plantain and Banana chips are very popular snacks around the world. You can also cut the green bananas in half and deep fry them and sprinkle with salt and paprika and have as a snack or with protein, such as fried fish or chicken or whatever is your preference. Just saw the entire video so my comment is mute, Great video.

Green Bananas certainly can be eaten raw BUT, if you are not used to eating it, it may result in excessive bloating. The very high levels of fiber and resistant starch found in uncooked green bananas, is not bioavailable if you're not used to eating it. This fiber and resistant starch is consumed by you microbiome, so in effect, it's a prebiotic, which by the way, is good for good gut health and by extension, a good immune system. To add uncooked green bananas to your diet, introduce it very slowly, so you gradually build up the colonies that are needed to break in down. Big up yuh-self Jess.

Jess, the plantain is a fruit off the tree. It's from the banana family, so, as the ripe banana is eaten as it is, God meant the same thing for the ripe plantain. It was meant to be eaten as it is, just like a ripe apple or a ripe mango. Though some people may cook those fruits, they were meant to be eaten as they are, ripened, not really cooked. Ripe plantain is mostly eaten fried, but I'm sure before humans figured out how to extract oil from coconut, olive, etc; they always ate it just as it is (ripened). So get yourself a fully ripened plantain and enjoy it. That 1 u tried isn't ripened properly, so it wasn't sweet and may even hv been a little stainy. Get a fully ripened one next time.

Growing up seeing some Jamaican men being over preoccupied with not saying certain words cause it sounds 'gay' to them has been hilarious. This bredrin in the video cooking who says he loves to cook, well some can say cooking is feminine. Basically the obsession to not say certain words makes no sense.
