I'm confident in the reading and English sections, as well as the science. I'm terrified about the Math section though, I have a hard time remembering things I've learned in math classes and I'm just not good at it all.
The ABSOLUTE easiest way to answer any equations with 1 variable is to put everything to the left of the "=" sign in Y1 on your calculator and everything on the right of the "=" sign in Y2 on your graphing calculator then find the intersection under 2ND->TABLE. If anyone has questions feel free to ask.
I got a 19 on my practice, super high English scores, very low math. Hoping if I use the answers and know calculator tricks I can raise my score to at least a 21
personally, for the fraction one, it would have been easier to add all the fractions together (3/4) and now we know that the yellow are 1/4 of the bag (because the entire bag should equal 1, and 1-3/4=1/4), so 21 = 1/4, so 21*4 is your answer. the guess and check method would have killed me because I suck at multiplying fractions, especially without a calculator. So basically the long way without the X, the X makes everything more confusing.
I'm using this for an Algebra 2 Midterm that I didn't study for. I don't know how I never thought of starting with the middle value. Now I just hope it is all multiple choice...
This is very smart I just tried it on 3 questions on a practice act and damn it worked boii I have to take the real one in 2 days which my luck guys :)
@@America_Number1 He means to say that one doesn't need Science skills to do well on either of those tests. The Science exam needs no prior knowledge, just reading comprehension, so Proxtiv's taking certain sciences means nothing as to how well they should do either test.
Please let me know if this is correct. So for question 2, the word problem is trying to see how many total marbles are in the bag. We started with C's answer choice as your tip suggested, and found that 72 was lower compared to the resulting 75 (after doing the math). Since 75 was bigger than 72, that let's you know that if 72 is too low compared to 75, then that is definitely not the total marbles found in the bag. So we move on to answer choices D and E. We start with D, which is 84. After doing the math, the resulting total after plugging in the 84 was 84. "Like equaled to Like". That means in math terms that this answer choice is a true statement. Now if the resulting answer after plugging in another number that is answer choice C, and that resulting number was too low (or makes the statement untrue) when compared to the actual number that was answer choice C then we know to go to answer choices A & B. If you start with answer choice A, and after doing the math you discovered that that Answer choice was correct (being that the resulting # was the same number as answer choice A) that means we've gotten: "Like equaled to Like". Making it a true statement. So the overall aim when plugging in an answer choice into a question's equation is to see if you get "Like equaled to Like", making it a true statement. Am I correct? I hope so because I plan to exercise this strategy when I take ACT test this Saturday. I don't want to get the wrong answers just because of poor understanding. Thank you for these videos! These are wonderful! I feel I'll get a 31 on the math test now!

I am also. Don’t worry. It’s a very easy test, ACT just wants you to think it’s hard. Don’t overthink it, that’s where most fall short. And once you know where you stand on the math, you can skim around and do the problems you know rather then attempt the ones you don’t. It’s all about the amount you get right, not the difficulty. This makes so much sense but I wouldn't have though of it. Thanks! Taking the ACT Tuesday.
I just started junior year a month ago n I’m already watching this 😭
I have my test in a week. This was helpful bc I suck at math
how did you do
@@saki-lx3jc I got a 19
@@crunchybroll4731 did you think this video helped because i’m really stressed and idk what to do 😭
i’m taking the act tomorrow for the third time. didn’t study for the first two and got 17 then 19 ... didn’t study at all this time either so trying to cram in tips.. hopefully i go up another 2 points so i can get into college. 😭
I'm taking it tomorrow
me taking mine tomorrow
Yeah, I didn't study... I made a 30 then a 32 on the practice tests. To me, that just means that years of faithfully doing my homework and taking notes has paid off. Cramming now won't help, but I am grateful for the shortcuts and tips.
about to take my act in the morning...
Oh my gosh thank you so much! this will help me so much!
You're welcome! Glad it helped!
who else taking act on feb 6😩😩
@Mantashah Bawany good luck!
last minute studying rn, this is my first act
I take mine on feb 23 ✋😔 did the strategies in the video help at all? Like, are they still relevant to the current ACT?
@@garfield2164 I will notify you once I get my scores this weekend
@@garfield2164 yep! it doesn't work for every question obviously, but I definitely saved a couple minutes using this method on a few.
Anyone taking it on Saturday?
Yup
good luck to all us! lol
Good luck friends!
Haha yep.
I'm going to win!! I just completed the science section with only one question incorrect in 26min!!!
My friends, I think this is the "above 31" I've been looking for so long!!
I watched this video 2 years ago when I was in 3rd grade and got straight A in 3rd grade,4th grade,5th grade I'm in 5th grade
Danm is it that good haven’t watch the video yet
God bless your heart and soul
Yo! I’m taking the ACT in 6 hours. I haven’t studied at all, nor have I been in a real math class in ~2 years. Hoping for a solid outcome with these strategies!!
how’d you do
how was it bro
How was it bro?
I did the Math practice test online, and got 100 on 9 test and 50 on the 10th one. Wish me luck, im taking the test today.
Amelia I wanna know which apps did you use for the reading part
@@joepolynice6580 I didnt study for the reading part, I only studied and did all the practice test on the Act keys website. Thr exam was very difficult especially all those graphs and they didnt even give us a grade so I dont know if I passed ot failed, i guessed on mostly all the graphs, paragraphs were to long and i had to read para graphs over and over again and this test was timed. It was not enough time !
9 hours away
This is so much easier! I need to retake my ACT as my last time I took it I bombed it!
SpydreX Official what did u end up getting?
I will be taking the test a month from now, so my studying endeavors starts now!
even though I’m done watching your videos, i’m still subscribing just so you know I love u🥺❤️
Dude is a wizard ! Thank you so much man I feel unstoppable!!
I take the ACT test Wednesday, I haven't practiced at all, and I wasnt offered to take any of the ACT prep classes. I also wasnt told I was taking it so soon. My counselor said Id be taking it in April. But I'm not allowed. So, I'm stressing right now.
2:08 Re-write the quadratic =0. Enter into your TI-84 (Y=). Go to Table. Your x-intercept is 2, which is your answer.
What is the quadratic?
it is now 2019 and I know that the test changes over time, is this still a viable method?
Noah b yes i use it still
I am so glad I watched this video oh my
1\3+1\6+1\4=3\4. yellow= 1\4. 21x4= 84
+alaina baker that's what I would have done! It is so much easier!
I didn't even know what to do with the 2nd example oh boy
Ahh yes the ACT. Took it three times. My composite went from 14 to 17 to 19. After 3 years I realized I'm not an academic person. So through university I cheated a lot and now looking at this vid this would have been cool to know back in high school. Graduated already tho. Regret university entirely.
what's ur degree and how many years where u at uni
@@raphaelverano5127 Major in: Waste of my Time
Minor in: Worthless
CC: 2 years, Uni 3 years.
When I say I cheated I mean math. Biggest weakness. Geometry and anything forward was 100% cheating. To this day I have never used anything aside basic math in my life. Ever. I got a solid job doing absolutely nothing related to my degree. Its a dust collector for big talk.
Very informative. Also could be called the shortcut way. Thanks!
people are missing out THHIS IS AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH
I studied for 5 months for my second retake, I took the practice tests in the ACT books and study for an hour of and on in thoes 5 months even took his advice I paced myself a lot better and felt calmer but when I got my ACT scores back it went down two points when I saw it I was in total shock and I thought "is there something wrong with me?" It was the most disappointed id ever been now im taling it a third time and I don't really feel anything I lightly studied some strategies this week and I'm taking it tomorrow I really don't know what will happen by this point
Bella Rose what did you end up getting?
I took a practice test on the math portion and got a score of 10 🥺 I’m literally gonna cry during the test
I got an 18 and the act is in two days for me 😭
22 days until I retake the ACT exam. I hope I can pull off a good score. I need to raise my old score a considerable amount, I'm hoping to get it at least 6 or 8 points higher. Thanks for these videos, they are a good start.
Jess R you take it February 10th?
Jonathan Gonzalez Yes I am! But I'm screwed because I stopped preparing and let anxiety take over 😵
Jonathan Gonzalez Yes I am! But I'm screwed because I stopped preparing and let anxiety take over 😵
Good luck to you, my goal is to also shoot 8 points.
Jess R how did it go? And what was ur old score if you don’t mind me asking?
For question #2 the "long" way is faster. Just knowing that 21 is 1/4 of the total means that 84 is the correct answer
I'm taking my ACT exam on February!! and since I've had one and half year gap from studies I've forgot most of my basic roots T.T gotta work hard now huehue
This is definitely one of his best videos!!
Wow... I never think of this strategy before. It"s really helpful
taking the ACT tomorrow
This is really helpful because sometimes I find the answer and one of the values I used to GET the answer is in the answer choices! I waste time!
I'm taking the staar test, but it still works if I rearrange the answer.
watching this the night before. wish me luck
How did it go
ACT this Saturday :)
Janet Han good luck! I am as well!
Mitchell Dodson GOOD LUCK!!
They give us a few hours just to fill out a packet; we've got this!
I got the ACT tomorrow, wish me luck, just comment to tell me to update I'll update once I get the scores in a few weeks
Good luck and I take it today 💀
