Had the same problem on my 2011 ford edge. To fix it I just pushed the roof forward but then it got stuck in the tilt position. To close it all the way I slightly opened it then, while someone was pushing the button to close it, we simultaneously pushed on the back of the sunroof and it closed completely. No water leaked in but I guess I don’t have a sunroof anymore..
I solved this problem this way: My wife was sitting in the car and opened the hatch completely. Then my wife pressed the roof closing button, and my son and I simultaneously pushed the roof from both sides and the roof closed completely! Thanks everyone!
I’m having the same issue! I saw your comment and tried it!! We pushed from each side and got it closed but it’s still in the tilt position and I can’t get it closed!!! Any idea of how to get the tilt closed?
Yes you can force it closed, but it causes a lot of noise and rattling because the mechanism is no longer pulling it down into place. I forced my wife's closed and it doesn't leak, but it is annoying as hell to drive.
Hey, my daughter just bought a 2010 mks the sunroof is dropping on the passenger side but it won’t drop down on the driver side to go back it seems to be sticking on that driver side and won’t drop down it will go up smoothly it seems the motor is fine I haven’t yet done anything I am thinking maybe something in the track stopping it if there’s something I am missing to look for please let me know while I am in there I’ll clean everything and the drains out, the car is in pretty darn good condition. If there’s something I can check also let me know Thanks 🙏

@@mishapierre8840 mine seems to have snapped off the plastic pieces that open and close it at the front. I was able to manually push it closed but would remain open about 5 inches or so, like if the TILT was activated. I couldn't close it past that point for some reason. I went to O'Reilly and (ironically) bought some white lithium grease, lubed up the rails, and with my daughter's help we were able to close it. Mine would open, but not close. So what I did is opened it, so the plastic piece in the front lined up and with my daughter pushing the close button I pushed the sunroof (simultaneously) closed with my hand at the middle rear section of the glass as the little carriages were moving forward and it just closed right up. Thank goodness!! It may not work for all, but it worked for me.

Can you show me how to front of the glass attaches to those brackets? My roof is working except it won’t lower into the sealed position, so I think I attached them wrong. They fell out when I removed everything so I couldn’t see how they were attached. Thanks!
Have you reset the sunroof? Mine did the same thing after I repaired it and you just have to hole the switch on the right down for 20 seconds. It will close when it resets.
@@burck_dalerecords Yes! I tried this couple of days later and it worked! I think I didn't do it right the first time, and I didn't want to shut the car off, as I had just jumped it because I drained the battery testing it without turning the car on. Did anyone figure out how to close it manually?
Just push it front carefully
You must have somebody on the other side with you to move it with you at the same time.
You can close it yourself just push on the sunroof glass on the outside slowly from both sides. It will temporary close it.
