    I bet this is really tasty! In Catalonia and Spain we cook a wide range of "strange" seafood which is delicious, starting from a type of white sea cucumber (espardenyes), to sea urchins, snails, anemones, barnacles and fish tripes. I get that some people might be disgusted but this is just a matter of being open-minded and respectful for other cultures. You can learn a lot from other cultures through traditional cuisine and I think is worth to try something to develop a real opinion about it. Otherwise, it's just prejudice

    • @hillarycrosson5827
      @hillarycrosson5827 7 лет назад +14

      I wouldn't say prejudice. I think it's a matter of what you're used to. Several years back, I wouldn't have touched this because it would have been visually disgusting and completely foreign to my palate. I grew up hearing people could get sick from uncooked meat. Now that I've experimented some with unusual foods I still feel it looks disgusting, but I'd try it.

    • @HypnoPantsOnline
      @HypnoPantsOnline 4 года назад +2

      It's based on a series of starvation and over-population :D
      Much like the weird cuisine of Norway, where they were forced to use/eat literally all of every single animal. If it could be eaten in any form, they found a way, if not... use it in some way that involves food, or in getting more food.
      When starvation kicks in, we'll try anything... ANYTHING.
      Why do you think the chinese originally ate cats/dogs at all? Starvation. (it is banned nowadays though) or eating maggots or tarantulas for example, starvation makes us look at things we normally would avoid, as life-saving edible foods.
      And unfortunately, if our father's father's father's father's father ate it, then we will too. Thus, weird cuisine is born, passed down from poverty-stricken families.
