PC Monkey I had PXE over IPv4 error at first now it is error 1962 no operating system. tried everything except going inside will try that. But I would like to know if I will loose all my data if I reinstall windows 10 please thank you
@@patsy1326 It depends how you install Windows. You can choose to delete everything and that will erase all your DATA. Or you can choose an option to save your DATA. This assumes that your HDD is good and the DATA is still good too. On possible reason for that error is a bad HDD. If thats the case with you, your DATA is most likely already gone :(

I made it all the way to the window set up and it states that "windows cannot be installed to this disk The Selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Window can only be installed to GPT Disks ". There is only 1 partition and its the system type, it does not let me reformat it on the screen or add a new one. Help is appreciated! I am reinstalling this because I had a bitlocker issue where I did not know the key due to a previous owner and used prompt command to clear the disks hoping it would fix. I followed instructions from a different video that didn't work. Hoping you could help me out, will donate
Good to see you are still doing Great and still helping out people in need by replying to them, a true hero. Well into the main point, My laptop takes forever to turn on. The laptop has non working battery for 3 years thus I have to keep charging it while using it. This problem started about 3-4 weeks ago. It used to take 5-10 minutes to start, 4 weeks forward literally takes 5+ Hours. RAMs are fine, seems like the Issue is either on the power cord, power jack. Nah, I will just buy a battery replacement instead.
Yup, still here :) Thx :) Try removing the battery and just using the computer with the power adapter. Should turn on and work fine unless there is some other issue.
I notice you haven't been doing videos for a while. You seem like a nice person and I hope you continue making them. I am wondering about something...I purchased a Dell Latitude 3520. Unfortunately I didn't think ahead and bought a 256 gig HD rather than a 1 TB. So I will be buying a 1TB M.2 PCIe drive and replacing it. I am wondering if I will need to buy some kind of machine to duplicate the source drive over to the destination (new) drive , or is there some alternative way to do it? Thanks. Hi, My sisters inspiron 15 5000 series is booting very slow. takes around 40 seconds to 2 minutes just to start then there is a please wait logo for around 10/20 seconds. It has a core i7 8th gen 985gb of storage 12.00 GB RAM And all components seem to have no problem bios date and time are correct, it is set to minimal boot time, You have always figured a solution to all PC problems. Hi there, I saw an older video of yours about doing a hard factory reset and figured it might be better to ask on a more recent video.. if I have a ton of pictures and files I want to keep but want to do a hard reset; is it best to off load the files to a couple flash drives? Yes, backing up your DATA is always a good idea. A 'hard reset' is one where you choose the 'erase everything' option. You cant save DATA if you use that option.

Hello please respond, I accidentally spill juice on my acer laptop and at first it’s that there is no booted device then it completely shut off I dried it off Blow dried it, I left it in fan and it still didn’t turn on so I left for a while in the fan came back to check on it and saw that the light at the side went from orange and blue to pink/light purple and orange.
After a liquid spill, you want to first make sure the computer is 100% dry. You would turn your computer off immediately by pressing and holding the power button until the computer turns off. Then you would disassemble the computer as much as your comfortable with, at least trying to remove the bottom case. Then you would turn it on its side and let dry for a couple days. Have you done this yet or are you sure the computer is dry?

After selecting custom install while it's downloading windows 11 the getting ready for installation stays at 30% for a while than a error "0x80070017" which says " windows cannot install required files. The file may be currupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation".

Can you suggest some advice to me, my laptop holds charge and turns on but when I try to plug in the charger while its on it turns off. Also it can't be turned on while charging only if I leave it to charge fully then unplug charger and it turns on like fine
My HP Laptop has Windows 10 on it. I purchased my laptop 6 years ago and to my surprise just over a year ago I learned that my laptop does not have the requirements/specifications for Windows 11. I would have thought it would, being the computer is only 6 years old. I purchased my laptop directly from HP online. I have been watching your videos and I find them helpful. I have a Dell Latitude d360 I had spilt water on it and i dried it out left it unplugged. well that was about a year ago. i had tired to turn it turn on but said the battery wasnt charging. I bought a new battery and it still doesnt charge. I had plugged it without the battery it turned on stayed on for a while then turned off. i tried turning it on again and it just shuts off. Do you have a video on how to fix it or have any advice to fix it? i have many family pictures that i dont want to lose on the computer. Thanks

The partitions will not delete in the setup and I continue anyways, when everything is finished and complete the computer restarts and it’s back at the original set up screen. I turned it off and unplugged the usb then turned it on, it’s still stuck in bios. Nothings happening, not sure what to do now because I’m stuck in another loop. Please help 🙏

I have the same issue I have been trying all your tips and I'm waiting on the CMOS battery to arrive, After that, I don't know what to do. I have a Dell g7 7588. At first, I was able to fix the issue by switching the main battery, because when I run the diagnostic it told me the battery was approaching the end of life after I did that, the Laptop was working fine for a few weeks, then I started having similar issues. I was getting this message when turned on "Invalid configuration information-please run SETUP program. Time-of day not set please run SETUP program. I tried to do a factory reset but the laptop shut down half way through. My only option now is to replace the cmos battery after that, I'll probably get a new one. Note: this laptop is 3 years old.

Hello sir i have a question i am using my laptop with an external monitor and in the setup my laptops lid keep close and i work with wireless keyboard and mouse in my external monitor now the problem is that whenever i need to open the laptop i have to open the lid and press the power button in laptop so my question is that is there any way to open it without using the laptop's power button.
I have an Asus x509 laptop that I need to perform a factory reset. I am unable to log on, so I access the factory reset option by holding shift, then clicking restart in the power options. I choose to delete all files, then the system restarts. The problem is: I removed the LCD because it was too damaged to use, so I've been using an HDMI monitor, but once the system restarts, it gives no HDMI display. Is there any way to fix or get around this?
Try unplugging the LCD cable from the motherboard. That sometimes forces it do display right away to the external monitor. If the factory reset wont take, try a new install as seen here; ruclips.net/video/1VD9fPJ1eik/видео.html
Hello, I have an HP Pavilion 27 All-In-One, Model: XA0050, and I'm getting the "Boot Device Not Found" error message on startup. I've watched several of your videos on fixes, but they don't seem to resolve the issue. Hard Drive test both passed, the quick and extensive. It won't let me do a System Restore either. I downloaded Windows 11 onto a USB and during setup, I'm receiving an error message that there are "No device drivers found". Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Win11 can still be tricky. I would try installing Win10 as seen here; ruclips.net/video/p_N_xV7j_Xo/видео.html. @@PC_Monkey Yea I deleted the Windows 11 on my USB and downloaded WIndows 10, but on startup the install setup window was distorted and zoomed in, like it was an old computer. Not sure if that has to do with the wrong OS. It still gave me the same error message as before. I did notice when looking through the BIOS Configuration, I noticed under the "Optane Volume", it stated "Incomplete Optane Volume". After clicking on that, it stated "Incomplete volume member disks: SATA 0.2, etc. Would you recommend resetting the Optane to "non-Optane" or going into the Command Prompt and set the disk to "clean", then try re-installing?

Hi follow your great channel and have a tricky Laptop problem that as a repairer myself , i cant quite nail. and love some help.. Problem is the usual "wont start and blank screen- but for months sometimes start good and most not- intermittent!!! worst fault haha OK- What it isnt- I have switched out ram and PS and its not over heating ect as i service it but that would be once it s hot and OH. I have also change SD HD with another and fresh windows install so its not windows or t the HD!! Problem-- Push button (3 volts ok?) and power light and mouse comes on but nothing on screen OR 'windows starting" but then nothing. So kill power a couple of times and after 1-4 tries, into windows and DESKTOP and if that far NO failure or blue screens or shutdowns. So when in windows, it works all day , no error mesgs and faultless , its just getting to desktop So my electronics and M/B knowledge is leaning toward Weak Caps that are load harder on start but less once computer on and thus runs all day- Laptop is 13 years so YES, caps will be worn Bios chip ropey or super IO BUT by now they should have failed totally? Super IO is keeping the mouse on and power on so not a board short plus i checked all that when pulled M/B to check obvious shorts and burnt components Also Power button not always work to force shutdown to try 1-4 restarts to m/B not always responsive - i pull plug Battery and bios battery also removed and replaced When i try to duplicate this fault HOT, i cant do it, only seems to happen after night then start- leading me to think weak cold caps not already ran and warmed ? when i pulled board and tried restarts they worked every time as M/B was warm and voltage filled generally. Is the Power button 3V needed AFTER the board is on, if not then that cant be it as mouse is on every time just wont get going to windows My next step is to monitor the 19V main rail and maybe even scope it for A/C noise when i turn it on cold and see if i can detect weak voltage and ripple from bad caps but not bad enough to have it run all day without fault? hmm Screen problems detected? but screen works perfectly all day and everything else too for months with this problem so i dont want to start reballing chips and make it worse perhaps.. Of course dumb windows says it need repair when it does start after restarts as thats it default position but it NOT windows or the drive.. This is M/B related as all else has been replaced or substituted to rule out.... Inspection- no corrosion or anything obvious. now it hot her in AUST, it might start each morning first time leading me to think warm caps? or simply a chip that is intermittent and hasnt failed yet. Any ideas appreciated as its my mums and valued to her and i like learn what this is or could be...
If there is no display on the screen, can we tell if the computer is even turning on? Are there any signs of life at all when you try to turn it on? Lights? Fan, Motherboard, or Hard Drive sounds?
hello! i have a Dell g5 15 5587, and it broke recently. initially I thought it was the battery as I’ve had to keep it plugged in for the past year, but I just replaced it and the screen remains off but my backlit keyboard and fans are on. i have tried switching the ram around (two of them), i have unplugged and plugged in the lcd cable from both the display and motherboard, i have tried draining residual power, i tried replugging in the cmos battery (it’s one covered in electrical tape), and i have tried plugging the laptop into a projector (I don’t have a monitor unfortunately) using a hdmi cable and it still did not work. when I hold D and the power button for the lcd test the display does show all the colours but then goes blank as well as the whole laptop turning off. i have run out of ideas! any advice? thank you - it’s a shame none of the fixes worked for me as your videos are very easy to follow and clear
For a computer that turns on but the display does not work, try this video first; ruclips.net/video/u-REPLdpZ70/видео.html Sounds like you have done all those steps though. At that point, if you cant get the display to work and cannot get the computer to display to an external monitor, your most likely looking at a motherboard issue. It would then need to be replaced :(

To just transfer files from one computer to another, you would just need a USB cable plugged into each computer. You can click and drag any files over.
@@PC_Monkey Thank you, the problem is the password has been forgotten on the computer, so I went through the videos of bypassing this within the files with not much luck until I just took out the hard drive. The SATA adaptor cable to get the files from the hard drive was my question, I have ordered one now, Thank you, again..

If you install a new OS then no, you most likely will not retain the preinstalled apps and software of the previous OS. You can try not deleting the existing partitions and see if that helps keep them though :)

PC Monkey your vids a wonderful. My problem is i have a HP 15-f271wm It will come on bring up home internet screen stay on 20 more min then just shutoff. I have noticed a faint click or popping noise when this happens. Sometimes it will shutdown before you even get to sign in screen. ALWAYS TURNS OFF NEVER RESTARTS OR FREEZES. We put a new battery on it last night but no difference. O YES FORGOT TO TELL IT RUNS ON WINDOW 10 if that means anything to you. Sometime you can turn it back on almost immediatly and other times it may take 10 min before it will come on. last thing I promise The little LED light right by where you plug power cord in is either a solid orange, a bliking white, or a solid white. I took it apart tonight looking for any arc or short marks from the popping sound I was hearing, so far that seems to be a dead end. Any help, ideas, or suggestions will be greatly appreciated...Thank You Sir for all you do.

@@wadeenyart9676 Not all computers have fans. Is your supposed to have one? If there is a spot for a fan to be and there is none, that could be an issue. In that case, yes, replace it.

Why does pc slows down within weeks after fresh installing? Like the game I play used to give me around 200 FPS in the beginning after I re-installed W10, and now it hardly gives me 140FPS. 4GB NVIDIA 1650Ti Graphics, i5-10300H Processor, 8GB(3200MHz) + 4GB(2667MHz) RAM.
I usually keep my pc up-to-date in every manner, starting from GeForce to Windows updates and BIOS/Firmware updates. When checked no updates were available(and I check every single day-- in the morning).

@@PC_Monkey That didn't work tho, everything's up-to-date. It's not the case either. Initially, after resetting the pc, I used to get FPS about 200, but gradually it reduced to less than 140 now. That didn't reduce other performance I think as I used my pc mostly for gaming now a days and completely lost myself.

Someone help me please, my laptop shows an orange light,when charging (it's a Acer aspire 1). But won't turn on. And when it decides to turn on, it just shows the logo then turns itself off, over and over again. @@dionyabreu9639 After replacing the CMOS, try to factory reset BIOS from inside BIOS. If that fails, you may need to reload BIOS new but that can be tricky.

I have a Dell 7400 2 in1 (512 SSD) in a continuous 'boot loop'. It starts to boot, logo comes up, then after 17 seconds shuts down for 6 seconds... and begins to boot again. I have tried *all* your diagnostics and disconnected both batteries. I cannot get it to do/recognize anything during the boot (F2, F8, F12, FN + Window, WinRe 3x on/off, or a bootable USB). I have a good *identical* laptop available for diagnostics. Any suggestions?

Hi. I watched a lot of your vids but am still having issues. I have an Acer predator Helios 300, 2022 model i5 3060. When I press the power button, the blue light turns on as well as the turbo button. After a few seconds they turn off and nothing happens. I've tried: power drain, remove and put back battery, tested ac adapter w a multimeter, replaced CMOS battery, reseated ram, changed ram. Still the same. Idk if this is a not booting issue, not turning on. I'm at the end of my rope. Would love to hear your thoughts and guidance. Thanks

@@PC_Monkey Well I start up the laptop like normal, it loads up on the loading screen before it goes to the home page. Before it gets to the home page, it comes up with error, telling me I need to restart the laptop, yet I can't, it loops restart over and over. So I can't progress.

I have this very weird computer [Dell Inspiron 15 5000] issue. A factor to take into consideration beforehand is that I tripped and fell in some mud 2 days before the issue happened (Got it on my computer and into a tiny hole in the back of my computer) My computer was working fine on campus a few hours before the problems started, but when I arrived home, I couldn’t turn my computer on. The fans started turning on and off randomly regardless of any attempts made to Turn the computer off. It was like my power on button stopped working. The keys didn’t light up signifying the typical Dell start-up, and the screen stayed black. (On campus when the computer was still working I’m pretty sure I put it on sleep mode plus battery saver before the problems started.) however, I have found that sometimes connecting it to my monitor makes the monitor work with the computers usual display, but the computers keyboard and functions are completely dead and have somehow been transferred to the monitor instead. I don’t think it’s the monitors issue, but something funky is definitely going on with my computer. As of right now, sometimes when I disconnect the monitor from my computer, the computer pops up with a dell loading screen for like a second, then immediately blacks out again. Does anyone know to fix this?
Hello PC Monkey, about 3 hours ago my HP laptop has died: no power light, no anything. Not booting up. Neither the battery nor the charging port are bad. The last thing that happened before the laptop suddenly died is a beep and a bunch of time after, an overheat that would cause me to go to my saddest. Can you help me fix this problem in one way or another?

After selecting custom install while it's downloading windows 11 the getting ready for installation stays at 30% for a while than a error "0x80070017" which says " windows cannot install required files. The file may be currupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation". I tried reinstalling the files and it did the same thing

@@TxLegacy_8099 A bad operating system needing to be installed in only one possible cause of a 'No HDD' error when trying to start a computer. There are other more common causes. I bought this laptop a year and a half ago and nonthing physically has happen to it but last weak Monday I entered the bios and change the UEFI Boot Order by mistake than that when Boot error 3f0 began I tried changing the boot order and tried changing the bios setting to default and it didn't work. And that where I began to use the USB method from your video. I also run few hhd test a remove and place back the hhd physically incase it wasn't in well but that didn't work.

This process does not require you to manually find drivers. What are you talking about? What is happening exactly when your trying to install? Also, is your computer turning on and working well otherwise? If not, what is happening with your computer?

Your talking about a keyboard key came off with the Hinge Clip still attached to the Key Cap? Because they key can usually not be reinstalled with the Retainer Clip and the Key Cap still attached to each other, you would have to separate them as seen here, ruclips.net/video/wqrchfpdJ_w/видео.html using a small flat pry tool.

Sounds like the power port on the computer is loose :( That is usually the case when the plug has to be at a certain angle to work. It may need to be replaced.
Pressed F2 upon starting it up with the Dell logo and it just turned black. Nothing opened or loaded. I even tried F12 for the boot options to run the BIOS setup and the diagnostics ... it all lead to a black screen. Complete darkness. Performance tests showed everything passed. Can you please provide any suggestions? Even when I start the laptop as usual, an error code shows on the top left with the Dell logo saying BI InitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000185. Please help.
If you cannot run the scan, we don't know for sure if the HDD is healthy or not. We will have to continue troubleshooting assuming it is for now. If its healthy, and if the issue is operating system related, I would then reinstall it. Yes, you should still be able to upgrade to Win10 free but just going to the website and selecting the 'Update Now' option. If your computer is working well, there shouldnt be a need to make or use install media :)

Please i need help,my laptop is a 8gb ram laptop but i had a problem once with my laptop,the laptop would switch on but no display on the screen,i messed with the ram slot to fix it but i noticed that it became slower. I didn't really care because it was not slow,it was still okay but now its unbearable. I checked my system info and found out it is showing only 4gb of ram. So after getting the info, I would go over to sites like Ebay, Amazon, and get the parts. However, some HP Envy computers do not have removable HDD's and others do. PC Monkey I had PXE over IPv4 error at first now it is error 1962 no operating system. tried everything except going inside will try that. But I would like to know if I will loose all my data if I reinstall windows 10 please thank you
@@patsy1326 It depends how you install Windows. You can choose to delete everything and that will erase all your DATA. Or you can choose an option to save your DATA. This assumes that your HDD is good and the DATA is still good too. On possible reason for that error is a bad HDD. If thats the case with you, your DATA is most likely already gone :(

I made it all the way to the window set up and it states that "windows cannot be installed to this disk The Selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Window can only be installed to GPT Disks ". There is only 1 partition and its the system type, it does not let me reformat it on the screen or add a new one. Help is appreciated! I am reinstalling this because I had a bitlocker issue where I did not know the key due to a previous owner and used prompt command to clear the disks hoping it would fix. I followed instructions from a different video that didn't work. Hoping you could help me out, will donate

Good to see you are still doing Great and still helping out people in need by replying to them, a true hero. Well into the main point, My laptop takes forever to turn on. The laptop has non working battery for 3 years thus I have to keep charging it while using it. This problem started about 3-4 weeks ago. It used to take 5-10 minutes to start, 4 weeks forward literally takes 5+ Hours. RAMs are fine, seems like the Issue is either on the power cord, power jack. Nah, I will just buy a battery replacement instead.

Try removing the battery and just using the computer with the power adapter. Should turn on and work fine unless there is some other issue.

I notice you haven't been doing videos for a while. You seem like a nice person and I hope you continue making them. I am wondering about something...I purchased a Dell Latitude 3520. Unfortunately I didn't think ahead and bought a 256 gig HD rather than a 1 TB. So I will be buying a 1TB M.2 PCIe drive and replacing it. I am wondering if I will need to buy some kind of machine to duplicate the source drive over to the destination (new) drive , or is there some alternative way to do it? Thanks. Hi, My sisters inspiron 15 5000 series is booting very slow. takes around 40 seconds to 2 minutes just to start then there is a please wait logo for around 10/20 seconds. It has a core i7 8th gen 985gb of storage 12.00 GB RAM And all components seem to have no problem bios date and time are correct, it is set to minimal boot time, You have always figured a solution to all PC problems. It works great but the Function keys cover looks like it had moisture under it and it makes it hard to see the keys underneath. How can I remove the cover and clean it?

Hi there, I saw an older video of yours about doing a hard factory reset and figured it might be better to ask on a more recent video.. if I have a ton of pictures and files I want to keep but want to do a hard reset; is it best to off load the files to a couple flash drives? Yes, backing up your DATA is always a good idea. A 'hard reset' is one where you choose the 'erase everything' option. You cant save DATA if you use that option.

Hello please respond, I accidentally spill juice on my acer laptop and at first it’s that there is no booted device then it completely shut off I dried it off Blow dried it, I left it in fan and it still didn’t turn on so I left for a while in the fan came back to check on it and saw that the light at the side went from orange and blue to pink/light purple and orange.
After a liquid spill, you want to first make sure the computer is 100% dry. You would turn your computer off immediately by pressing and holding the power button until the computer turns off. Then you would disassemble the computer as much as your comfortable with, at least trying to remove the bottom case. Then you would turn it on its side and let dry for a couple days. Have you done this yet or are you sure the computer is dry?

Can you suggest some advice to me, my laptop holds charge and turns on but when I try to plug in the charger while its on it turns off. Also it can't be turned on while charging only if I leave it to charge fully then unplug charger and it turns on like fine

My HP Laptop has Windows 10 on it. I purchased my laptop 6 years ago and to my surprise just over a year ago I learned that my laptop does not have the requirements/specifications for Windows 11. I would have thought it would, being the computer is only 6 years old.

6 years old is actually considered a pretty old computer. Many computer that are 4 years old do not meet the reqs for Win11. :( Sry

I have been watching your videos and I find them helpful. I have a Dell Latitude d360 I had spilt water on it and i dried it out left it unplugged. well that was about a year ago. i had tired to turn it turn on but said the battery wasnt charging. I bought a new battery and it still doesnt charge. I had plugged it without the battery it turned on stayed on for a while then turned off. i tried turning it on again and it just shuts off. The partitions will not delete in the setup and I continue anyways, when everything is finished and complete the computer restarts and it’s back at the original set up screen. I turned it off and unplugged the usb then turned it on, it’s still stuck in bios. Nothings happening, not sure what to do now because I’m stuck in another loop. Please help 🙏

I have the same issue I have been trying all your tips and I'm waiting on the CMOS battery to arrive, After that, I don't know what to do. I have a Dell g7 7588. At first, I was able to fix the issue by switching the main battery, because when I run the diagnostic it told me the battery was approaching the end of life after I did that, the Laptop was working fine for a few weeks, then I started having similar issues. I was getting this message when turned on
"Invalid configuration information-please run SETUP program. Time-of day not set please run SETUP program. I tried to do a factory reset but the laptop shut down half way through. My only option now is to replace the cmos battery after that, I'll probably get a new one. Note: this laptop is 3 years old.

Hello sir i have a question i am using my laptop with an external monitor and in the setup my laptops lid keep close and i work with wireless keyboard and mouse in my external monitor now the problem is that whenever i need to open the laptop i have to open the lid and press the power button in laptop so my question is that is there any way to open it without using the laptop's power button.
I have an Asus x509 laptop that I need to perform a factory reset. I am unable to log on, so I access the factory reset option by holding shift, then clicking restart in the power options. I choose to delete all files, then the system restarts. The problem is: I removed the LCD because it was too damaged to use, so I've been using an HDMI monitor, but once the system restarts, it gives no HDMI display. Is there any way to fix or get around this?

Hello, I have an HP Pavilion 27 All-In-One, Model: XA0050, and I'm getting the "Boot Device Not Found" error message on startup. I've watched several of your videos on fixes, but they don't seem to resolve the issue. Hard Drive test both passed, the quick and extensive. It won't let me do a System Restore either. I downloaded Windows 11 onto a USB and during setup, I'm receiving an error message that there are "No device drivers found". Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

@@PC_Monkey Yea I deleted the Windows 11 on my USB and downloaded WIndows 10, but on startup the install setup window was distorted and zoomed in, like it was an old computer. Not sure if that has to do with the wrong OS. It still gave me the same error message as before. I did notice when looking through the BIOS Configuration, I noticed under the "Optane Volume", it stated "Incomplete Optane Volume". After clicking on that, it stated "Incomplete volume member disks: SATA 0.2, etc.
Would you recommend resetting the Optane to "non-Optane" or going into the Command Prompt and set the disk to "clean", then try re-installing?

Problem is the usual "wont start and blank screen- but for months sometimes start good and most not- intermittent!!! worst fault haha
OK- What it isnt- I have switched out ram and PS and its not over heating ect as i service it but that would be once it s hot and OH.
I have also change SD HD with another and fresh windows install so its not windows or t the HD!!
Problem-- Push button (3 volts ok?) and power light and mouse comes on but nothing on screen OR 'windows starting" but then nothing.
So kill power a couple of times and after 1-4 tries, into windows and DESKTOP and if that far NO failure or blue screens or shutdowns.
So when in windows, it works all day , no error mesgs and faultless , its just getting to desktop
So my electronics and M/B knowledge is leaning toward
Weak Caps that are load harder on start but less once computer on and thus runs all day- Laptop is 13 years so YES, caps will be worn
Bios chip ropey or super IO BUT by now they should have failed totally? Super IO is keeping the mouse on and power on so not a board short plus i checked all that when pulled M/B to check obvious shorts and burnt components
Also Power button not always work to force shutdown to try 1-4 restarts to m/B not always responsive - i pull plug
Battery and bios battery also removed and replaced
When i try to duplicate this fault HOT, i cant do it, only seems to happen after night then start- leading me to think weak cold caps not already ran and warmed ? when i pulled board and tried restarts they worked every time as M/B was warm and voltage filled generally.
Is the Power button 3V needed AFTER the board is on, if not then that cant be it as mouse is on every time just wont get going to windows
My next step is to monitor the 19V main rail and maybe even scope it for A/C noise when i turn it on cold and see if i can detect weak voltage and ripple from bad caps but not bad enough to have it run all day without fault? hmm
Screen problems detected? but screen works perfectly all day and everything else too for months with this problem so i dont want to start reballing chips and make it worse perhaps..
Of course dumb windows says it need repair when it does start after restarts as thats it default position but it NOT windows or the drive..
This is M/B related as all else has been replaced or substituted to rule out....
Inspection- no corrosion or anything obvious. now it hot her in AUST, it might start each morning first time leading me to think warm caps?
or simply a chip that is intermittent and hasnt failed yet.

hello! i have a Dell g5 15 5587, and it broke recently. initially I thought it was the battery as I’ve had to keep it plugged in for the past year, but I just replaced it and the screen remains off but my backlit keyboard and fans are on. i have tried switching the ram around (two of them), i have unplugged and plugged in the lcd cable from both the display and motherboard, i have tried draining residual power, i tried replugging in the cmos battery (it’s one covered in electrical tape), and i have tried plugging the laptop into a projector (I don’t have a monitor unfortunately) using a hdmi cable and it still did not work. when I hold D and the power button for the lcd test the display does show all the colours but then goes blank as well as the whole laptop turning off. i have run out of ideas! any advice? thank you - it’s a shame none of the fixes worked for me as your videos are very easy to follow and clear

Sounds like you have done all those steps though. At that point, if you cant get the display to work and cannot get the computer to display to an external monitor, your most likely looking at a motherboard issue. It would then need to be replaced :(

To just transfer files from one computer to another, you would just need a USB cable plugged into each computer. You can click and drag any files over.

If you install a new OS then no, you most likely will not retain the preinstalled apps and software of the previous OS. You can try not deleting the existing partitions and see if that helps keep them though :)

PC Monkey your vids a wonderful. My problem is i have a HP 15-f271wm It will come on bring up home internet screen stay on 20 more min then just shutoff. I have noticed a faint click or popping noise when this happens. Sometimes it will shutdown before you even get to sign in screen. ALWAYS TURNS OFF NEVER RESTARTS OR FREEZES. We put a new battery on it last night but no difference. O YES FORGOT TO TELL IT RUNS ON WINDOW 10 if that means anything to you. Sometime you can turn it back on almost immediatly and other times it may take 10 min before it will come on. last thing I promise The little LED light right by where you plug power cord in is either a solid orange, a bliking white, or a solid white. I took it apart tonight looking for any arc or short marks from the popping sound I was hearing, so far that seems to be a dead end. Why does pc slows down within weeks after fresh installing?
Like the game I play used to give me around 200 FPS in the beginning after I re-installed W10, and now it hardly gives me 140FPS.
4GB NVIDIA 1650Ti Graphics, i5-10300H Processor, 8GB(3200MHz) + 4GB(2667MHz) RAM.
Make sure all the updates are processed after installing. Sometimes, updates running in the background can slow down other computer functions.
I usually keep my pc up-to-date in every manner, starting from GeForce to Windows updates and BIOS/Firmware updates.
When checked no updates were available(and I check every single day-- in the morning).

It's not the case either.
Initially, after resetting the pc, I used to get FPS about 200, but gradually it reduced to less than 140 now. That didn't reduce other performance I think as I used my pc mostly for gaming now a days and completely lost myself.

@@dionyabreu9639 After replacing the CMOS, try to factory reset BIOS from inside BIOS. If that fails, you may need to reload BIOS new but that can be tricky.

I have a Dell 7400 2 in1 (512 SSD) in a continuous 'boot loop'. It starts to boot, logo comes up, then after 17 seconds shuts down for 6 seconds... and begins to boot again. I have tried *all* your diagnostics and disconnected both batteries. I cannot get it to do/recognize anything during the boot (F2, F8, F12, FN + Window, WinRe 3x on/off, or a bootable USB).
I have a good *identical* laptop available for diagnostics. Any suggestions?

Hi. I watched a lot of your vids but am still having issues. I have an Acer predator Helios 300, 2022 model i5 3060. When I press the power button, the blue light turns on as well as the turbo button. After a few seconds they turn off and nothing happens. I've tried: power drain, remove and put back battery, tested ac adapter w a multimeter, replaced CMOS battery, reseated ram, changed ram. Still the same. Idk if this is a not booting issue, not turning on. I'm at the end of my rope. Would love to hear your thoughts and guidance. Thanks

Before it gets to the home page, it comes up with error, telling me I need to restart the laptop, yet I can't, it loops restart over and over. So I can't progress.

I have this very weird computer [Dell Inspiron 15 5000] issue. A factor to take into consideration beforehand is that I tripped and fell in some mud 2 days before the issue happened (Got it on my computer and into a tiny hole in the back of my computer) My computer was working fine on campus a few hours before the problems started, but when I arrived home, I couldn’t turn my computer on. The fans started turning on and off randomly regardless of any attempts made to Turn the computer off. It was like my power on button stopped working. The keys didn’t light up signifying the typical Dell start-up, and the screen stayed black. (On campus when the computer was still working I’m pretty sure I put it on sleep mode plus battery saver before the problems started.) however, I have found that sometimes connecting it to my monitor makes the monitor work with the computers usual display, but the computers keyboard and functions are completely dead and have somehow been transferred to the monitor instead. I don’t think it’s the monitors issue, but something funky is definitely going on with my computer. As of right now, sometimes when I disconnect the monitor from my computer, the computer pops up with a dell loading screen for like a second, then immediately blacks out again. Does anyone know to fix this?
Mud got on your computer and inside parts? Did you clean it out? Disassembling it if needed?

Hello PC Monkey, about 3 hours ago my HP laptop has died: no power light, no anything. Not booting up. Neither the battery nor the charging port are bad.

2. An overheating computer can be damaging multiple different components if not resolved. First, make sure that the fan and vents are clean and clear. If you need help accessing the fan, let me know what brand and model computer you have and I can help you get inside it. If that does not fix the overheating issue, then try replacing the thermal paste on the CPU and if needed, the GPU as seen here; ruclips.net/video/K_j4GPjpawk/видео.html. If that fails too, replace the CPU

Dont know if youll be able to help me but my Boot Manager is showing up blank even with the USB connected with Windows 11. I have a Nitro 5 Acer Laptop and cannot get anything to work. Any help is appreciated

How to fix windows 10 random beep sound?
Here is what i tried:
1.Restarting the computer, didn't fixed the beep sound forever.
2.Windows Update, it didn't work as well.
3.Driver update from driver easy, didn't work.
4.Ending not needed background processes, failed as well.
The computer turns on and works well otherwise?

Good day, I'm Having a problem. After selecting custom install while it's downloading windows 11 the getting ready for installation stays at 30% for a while than a error "0x80070017" which says " windows cannot install required files. The file may be currupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation".

@@TxLegacy_8099 A bad operating system needing to be installed in only one possible cause of a 'No HDD' error when trying to start a computer. There are other more common causes. What brand computer do you have? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?

I bought this laptop a year and a half ago and nonthing physically has happen to it but last weak Monday I entered the bios and change the UEFI Boot Order by mistake than that when Boot error 3f0 began I tried changing the boot order and tried changing the bios setting to default and it didn't work. And that where I began to use the USB method from your video.
I also run few hhd test a remove and place back the hhd physically incase it wasn't in well but that didn't work.

Hi I have a problem! This process does not require you to manually find drivers. What are you talking about? What is happening exactly when your trying to install? Also, is your computer turning on and working well otherwise? If not, what is happening with your computer?

Your talking about a keyboard key came off with the Hinge Clip still attached to the Key Cap? Because they key can usually not be reinstalled with the Retainer Clip and the Key Cap still attached to each other, you would have to separate them as seen here, ruclips.net/video/wqrchfpdJ_w/видео.html using a small flat pry tool.

Sounds like the power port on the computer is loose :( That is usually the case when the plug has to be at a certain angle to work. It may need to be replaced.

Pressed F2 upon starting it up with the Dell logo and it just turned black. Nothing opened or loaded. I even tried F12 for the boot options to run the BIOS setup and the diagnostics ... it all lead to a black screen. Complete darkness. Performance tests showed everything passed. Can you please provide any suggestions? Even when I start the laptop as usual, an error code shows on the top left with the Dell logo saying BI InitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000185. Please help.
If you cannot run the scan, we don't know for sure if the HDD is healthy or not. We will have to continue troubleshooting assuming it is for now. If its healthy, and if the issue is operating system related, I would then reinstall it.

Yes, you should still be able to upgrade to Win10 free but just going to the website and selecting the 'Update Now' option. If your computer is working well, there shouldnt be a need to make or use install media :)

Please i need help,my laptop is a 8gb ram laptop but i had a problem once with my laptop,the laptop would switch on but no display on the screen,i messed with the ram slot to fix it but i noticed that it became slower. I didn't really care because it was not slow,it was still okay but now its unbearable. I checked my system info and found out it is showing only 4gb of ram. So after getting the info, I would go over to sites like Ebay, Amazon, and get the parts. However, some HP Envy computers do not have removable HDD's and others do. Why are you connecting an external monitor with an HDMI? Does the main computer screen work well if the computer is not connected to an external monitor?
