- This is a simple explanation of how the DV lottery draw process works, including why we see holes in the process.

BritSimon, as a previous winner a couple of years ago from NZ, my wife and I will always be extremely grateful for your expertise and help. We've been happily set up in Texas since we arrived. Truly awesome you're continuing to help other people especially with this channel!
Thanks for that update Chris!
@@BritSimon Gosh.. I see you're gonna have your work cut out for you answering all these new questions though!!
Chris Butchard hi if you don’t mind answering, when did you have to prove that you have enough money to sustain yourself?
@@bumsomejoeyy2493 It was at the final step in the process at the 'interview'. BritSimon will have info about it either in a video or on his website under his FAQs. It's basically seeing if you have enough money to set up (get a roof over your head and eat for a few months while you find a job) and not become a 'public charge'.
Thanks a lot for your help and support
Thanks Mr.Simon
Thanks brit
Hello, I was wondering you keep referring your answers to the areas such as Oceania, Africa, Asia, etc. Do you give stats on the Caribbean? I know that the Dominican Republic was not one of the countries allowed to participate in the DV this 2019, but I completed the applications for 3 family members living in Cuba. As you may very well be aware that Cuba has no internet service at all or is extremely expensive and not accessible to most Cubans. That being said my question is; these detailed stats you give and the informative videos are not including Cuba or any region of the Caribbean that were included in the 2019 DV lottery? Thank you, NY&NJ area here.
Just 1 question: if the results says that then entry wasn't selected..... is there a possibility that that same entry can be re-selected later down in the year? Thanks for a response.
Great man!! Always teaching us!! May the good Lord bless you abundantly.
can you make more videos about this topic it's really interesting?
and HOW you know how much people selected in any year?
Thanks for this video sir. It is informative and rewarding. My question here is, do you have to play the DV earlier then the end date to prevent loop holes and caught up point?
The time you enter has NOTHING to do with chances of selection or disqualification.
Simon, are you sure bad entries are not removed BEFORE the cut-off point is determined? Because:
1. Imagine so many bad entries are found after the cut-off point such that there are only very few legitimate entries left? Will they then have to determine a new cut-off point(to rope-in more entries) and then look for bad entries all over again, possibly again and again...
2. It also seems awkward that they will search for duplicate entries using entries above AND below the cut-off point(I assume that's how real duplicates will be determined) when such entries could first be removed before a cut-off point is determined.
Just wondering...
Great explanation on the numbers, but when go to link u have provided, it stated its finished/closed. So if this year 2019, I wanted to try my luck, when should I start to submit my application and which web site? Thank you.
The lottery entry will open in October.
Hi am from Kenya dv 2022 , is my confirmation number good to go? KA82
Hi BS here is another question did the chances to win get higher when you've already got accepted but you didn't have a chance go because of higher CN, and is there anything else influence the chance of winning the lottery thank you.
No - selection is completely random. The only difference you can make is avoiding errors that will cause disqualification.
Hi sir. .....please I wanna know the number of applicants from Africa just last year (2019, 2020) dv lottery
Goodnight. This wants to devi that there is still opportunity to stay?
I don't understand your question.

Thanks so much
Which the right link to apply from?,what are the chances if you a single mum?
dvlottery.state.gov
You have the same chance as anyone else.
hello
please if i have 14000 case number when willi take the interview (region anfrica)
Could be later this year (October to December)
@@BritSimonokey sir.. Thank you so much ❤️
So, if that is the case (everything is done by computer) why the heck that they take almost a year to announce the result. A month or two months should have been more than enough. I think there is something like manual selection going on.
Exactly 💯
Prevent the system from hackers
Hahaha it doesn't make sense, you can't just let 50k of people enter your country every month or two
Can one person play twice??
No
Quick question? how do you know so much of how all of this works and such? do you have someone from inside that gives you the scoops? or have you ever done such work, as in work in an embassy or whatever? lol
No one on the inside no. The draw process is fairly obvious if you think about it, but there was also a court case in 2012 which required testimony from the government about some parts of the draw process. It's just a matter of filling in the blanks logically.
@@BritSimon Aaah okay, good to know.
Is the selection by continent or countries?
Region.
@@BritSimon am asking by curiously because is my 19th year with this lottery i did some mistakes to applied with the same photo for many years 2 or 3 this is the fault which I did I was for sure disqualified for this many times .anyway thanks for your explanations it helps too much
Very interesting but I didn't understand
