When I was 14 years old I was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia that killed 99.8% of every patient diagnosed with it. No one survived more than a year. It was 1979. The only survivor was a bone marrow transplant survivor from Seattle, WA. I had no donor match, so my fate was solidified. I am a father of 4 sons and 2 grandsons because of Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. I was the only patient that did not receive a transplant to live 2 years in 1981 in the country. When Atlas falls some do rise up. I am a living testament to that. And I have left many sets of eyes to carry on!

Randoman35 i think it seems more pure this way, more full. Like you say, curse words are meaningless, so to fill a song with swearing is pointless. This song has a very clear message, and it wastes no time in conveying that message. I personally find cursing in songs no big deal, but i will say that if it were excessive, it’d be a bit annoying. There’s a song called Promise Me by Badflower that i think is a perfect example of how to effectively curse in a song. It conveys a very clear emotion, and i think that’s another point to make. Usually, cursing in a song is just there to be there, but in Promise Me, it’s there to show feelings of frustration and sadness, and that makes it all the more emotional. It’s a great song

This may sound a little crazy but here it is. Today I had to go take care of some things for my dad, he is in the hospital, I got done and wanted a bag of my chips went to one place they didn’t have them , went to the grocery store and they didn’t have them either, so I was looking at other chips and came the conclusion I didn’t want any other chips when I heard a very familiar voice singing from the speakers, Immediately i thought of my sister it was here kind of music, so I ask Siri what song is this? It pulled this song and one of my sister’s favorite bands was Shinedown, she passed away last September from covid, yet she is still sending me awesome songs! Until we meet again sister I won’t give up, I LOVE YOU!!!

My father died due to Covid a few months ago. I’m currently getting a music teaching degree, I’ve been thinking about dropping out because it’s just too hard to focus. As a nurse, who has been in this since day one, I need motivation to move forward to do my job on some days when all I want to do is curl up in ball and cry, and never do this again. But I can't. We rise up and move forward. Thank you for this song, I play it once a day maybe more if I am having a rough time processing and putting myself on the front line everyday. It also prevents me from throat punching idiots and their conspiracy theories, my purpose is higher, that is what I focus on, giving care and holding hands of my elderly patients who are soooooooooo lonely, and I need to make them happy and pull them through this, when so many of their friends in the facility have passed from this and family members they don't even know about. So Thank You for my motivation and inner strength.
Thank you for being there for others. Thank you for your unselfish ways, and putting yourself into danger to help and save others. My therapist tells me to have a "fuck day" where I go somewhere alone and just scream FUCK whatever is bothering me. Like FUCK covid FUCK so and so...FUCK all of the hatred...I thought it was crazy advice until I did it. It was actually helpful for me to release pent up emotions. I have frequent "fuck days " Please forgive me if I have offended with the language. Take care of yourself 😇😊🥰

The doctors and nurses don't get nearly enough recognition for the exhausting work they did and still do. And this motivated me to pick up and move forward to walk again. Lost1 this song was released a few weeks ago as a way to profit to donate to an organization called Direct Relief. I believe it was 50$ for the song and a t-shirt and 100% of profits got donated. They finally released the song to the general public.

What's it like knowing that medical mistakes are the #3 cause of premature death in the US? As a "medical professional" only heart disease and the big "C" are responsible for more people passing away before they should've than your profession. I'm sorry for whatever you're going through that won't allow you to offer anything brighter. You'll notice he said he was volunteering. So, nothing was paid. I'll admit the US has problems with healthcare, and they go well beyond one doctor. If you're really concerned, try speaking with your congressmen - anyone that actually has the power to do something about the problem. His voice is absolutely amazing, just like alot of great singers, Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Josh Groban, Miles Kennedy, Axl Rose, Bonnie Tyler, and so many others. I preordered the T-Shirt, so I had the full song, but I was waiting for this to release, because I wanted my shirt, but more than that I wanted to add this to my playlist so I could annoy my wife! That said, this week has been a whirlwind. A guy I grew up with, who became a psych PT of mine passed last weekend, had a great uncle pass yesterday, and my second daughter born today. The official release of this song just adds to the joyous side of my week. Gonna enjoy a long weekend, my new daughter, and this amazing, wonderful, touching song.
My son in law passed away 18 days ago after suffering an Atlas (isn't that ironic) fracture. This song has taken on a new meaning for my daughter and to me as well. It gives us strength. He was an organ donor and has changed many lives. A real hero.

Lost my father in law to a rare lung cancer in March, right before all of this madness started. I watched the love of my life slowly break down in front of me with little I could do. Here we are, three months later to the day, and I just played this song to her, and I can swear for the first time in these last three months I saw her regain some sense of happiness in her eyes. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for this masterpiece. She has been playing it nonstop since this morning, and I can hear her singing along right now. She has always been iffy on concerts, but without a doubt we will be seeing you on your next tour. Thank you again for bringing my wife back to me.

This song hits really, really hard for me. As a former ICU nurse in a small town, 25 bed hospital in east TN, hit hard by the worst of COVID, I experienced literally one of the hardest times of my life. I witnessed so much death... so much fear... so much pain and sorrow... patients my age, (early 40s at the time) grabbing me by the hand and pleading with me to not let them die.. All the overtime hours, not seeing my kids, it was too much. Struggled with some suicidal thoughts during this time.. i was just mentally drained, exhausted, tired, didnt feel like i could go on. This song (and my kids, obviously) literally were reasons i survived. I listened to this song on my 40 min drive home and cried, hysterically, and prayed and begged for covid to end. And this song gave me the motivation and strength to make it thru. Thank you, Brent and shinedown, for your awesome lyrics, music, and video. U may have saved my life. Exactly why im a long term, die hard Shinedown fan.

And another great song! Went to a Shinedown concert a few weeks ago. Before they came on I had a couple hard seltzer’s and hubby a couple beers. They came on and that’s when the real fun started. We were on a natural high the rest of the night!! Every song played seemed better than the last (IMO they have no bad songs). Funny thing, at one point Brent had everyone introduce themselves with the the people next to them but we were already dancing and singing their songs together!! Hands down my favorite band! To see them live is something everyone needs to experience. Thank you Shinedown! Your musical art and humbling Lyrics help more people than anyone can imagine in so many ways! Love you! God speed!

First time I heard shinedown was live at the VBCC in Huntsville Alabama. They were one of the opening bands for 3 doors down. They should have been the headliner. They blew everybody out of the water. They sound better live than recorded. Been a fan since.

If it wasn't for shinedown I would've given up on everything, through all the hell and all the loss I've suffered through over the past 15 years(been listening since I was 5 I turn 20 on Wednesday)the music the band produces helps me to fight against my depression my PTSD and my anxiety and helps motivate me to help others who are struggling to keep the fire within blazing. This was my best friends favorite band before he killed himself in October but even though he lost the fight the music helped him put up the strongest fight I've seen with in his eyes. Thank you shinedown for helping me keep fighting and for helping my best friend fight on.
