Lou left the band a few weeks ago officially, but on good terms. Mainly health/family stuff, but Brandon filled in as vocalist on their last tour while he was out for health and he did really good live! I didnt even notice at first. He and Lou both have very similar voices
Palisades is a severely underrated band. Their self titled from 2017 (Let Down, Memories, Fall etc..) was an album that helped me through so much specifically the song Memories. Erase the Pain was a really solid album too. But the way they announced Lou (vocalist) leaving the band was so weird. They just threw up the post Lou made on his personal account on their story on IG a week before My Consequences came out and said “can’t wait for you guys to hear our new stuff this Friday.” It was a very weird way of doing it and definitely makes sense as to why no one really knew that there was even a change. I’m still open to the new vocalist but I will say this song really didn’t blow me away like their past stuff has. But we’ll see as time goes on I hope the next single is a banger 🤘🏼
Reminds me of a Skillet track. Didn’t realize they changed vocalists. That’s really unfortunate. Not a bad track, but not grabbing my attention nearly as much as their previous work.
Has the same skillet/3DG progression of "verse with minimal instruments and one big chord, then chorus, repeat, screamed section, final chorus w/ screamed inserts." It's way too formulaic for me, especially compared to Mind Games and Outcasts
@@thewanderingwolf7116 I just found a new song from palisades in Apple Music, got soooo hype. Could tell by the chorus the singer was different. Looked up and found everything out. Seriously super sad 😭😭😭😭 still catchy but Lou's voice would just grab me
Been listening to Palisades since Outcast album. Such an underrated band indeed, totally agree! Their singer now Brandon Elgar, he's such a great dude. I got to speak to him momentarily on a Live app on FB way before FB-Live existed, got to talk to him about vocals and such since we both did covers of songs back then. Such a humble guy really, I wish the best for him.
Okay soo lou the old singer was hospitalized from covid a really bad case of it and he said he realized he missed out alot on life and just enjoy living because hes always been around music and touring and studios and his tweet said he is still super good friends with everyone in band he just wanted to step away on good terms and brandon the new singer was the backup singer for a couple album's I believe that was him in video in white shirt on war in the band and obviously is main singer now
I fucking love Palisades! Marilyn Is Dead - Appearance Disappear EP (2009) I'm Not Dying Today EP (2012) Outcasts (2013) Mind Games (2015) Palisades (2017) Erase The Pain (2018) My Consequences - Single (2021)
Seen these guys back in March 2019 when they opened for a Nothing More Concert in Charlotte, NC. Never heard of them before going into the venue and was really impressed and hooked ever since.
The old vocalist gave time he had covid pretty bad he put up a statement why he left the band but Brandon the new vocalist is really good I've been following him when he did RUclips covers of woe, is me songs great guy
I met the drummer and new vocalist a couple years back at a show where they opened for Starset. They were just chillin watching the show and said what’s up and they were super cool and we talked for a while. Super cool dudes
My first time listening to Palisades back on their self-title album: “This is okay. Nothing fancy. Songs sound the same. May listen to this once and drop it.” Me after listening to the whole album on loop for an entire day: “CUZ YOU’RE A LET DOWN!!” Seriously though. Palisades should be a lot bigger. Every album has been so unique and every song has such a great sound and lyrics especially from the album Palisades and on.
First time I heard Palisades was their self titled and I absolutely loved it. Then I heard Erase The Pain and then Mind Games and I absolutely loved those as well. So excited to hear more from them.
Awesome video. Again, I enjoyed how you guys talked about the song and showed the comparison to their other songs. I too don't really hear the lyrics until I look them up. Or it takes a bit to hear the words. It's the music's energy I first resonate with. Plus, I feel with rock/metal music there's a lot going on where the mind is going all sorts of directions. 🙃
So I saw palisades for my 3rd time when they played with Starset in 2019, and on my date the lead vocalist had an emergency so the bassist (now vocalist) did the vocals. I honestly thought that the bassist was better then the old vocalist. I talked to him after the show and told him that he should start a different band as the vocalist lol
Also lou/louis was the old vocalist but he got covid and he is quarantined and brandon the 3rd bass player replaced him idk if it’s permanent or temporary @WyattStav
Bruh Lou didn't leave the band because of covid that would be stupid. He left cos while he was isolated he realised that he wants to work more on his own clothing brand and graphic design and he had to choose between music and other stuff and he chose the second option which is fine
Thought they were underrated since the first time I saw them open for Starset and never heard of them. Been a fan ever since. Erase the pain album is a jam front to back.
Bro you were in Aspire? I was at the show in early January 2015 in Nutley, NJ and thought you guys were sick as fuck. Years later I’m watching you here on RUclips, crazy how this shit works out man.
Idk if u do any reaction to this band yet called Imminence!!..but if u don't can u do it xD...I recommend the song called Temptation,Heaven in hiding or Chasing shadow
@@Lettheflamesbeginx3 didn’t realize that theyve had a few lineup changes over the years i do believe so never paid much attention thanks for the info though!
This sounded like a Three Days Grace cover band until the drop. Honestly, I just feel like a ton of other bands have made exactly this song before. I don't know if abandoning the crab core meets dance rock vibe was the best choice, but yeah. This new track was super safe. Versus say, Real Friends, who went all in with their new vocalist and had a great few singles this year. I'd like to hear more with the new guys, cause this isn't much to go off, in my opinion.
Yeeeahhhh it's really disappointing. They've been slowly drifting away from the EDM influence, which is sad, but Lou leaving seemed to jump that process and just go straight to butt rock.
How exactly are you getting Skillet vibes from this? I'm definitely not hearing any Skillet in this whatsoever. This is way to heavy and dark to be anything to do with Skillet sounds.
Skillet was the first thing that came to mind as well. It’s decent, but not my thing either. Maybe it’s the new vocalist, but something is kind of off for me personally.
Their last album was my vibe. Hoping I get used to this new guy. Erase The Pain and War were jams
Brandon has been in the band since 2016, so he isn't new..

same, i'm super sad learning that the vocalist left. the vocals weren't bad, but just as you said, didn't catch my attention as much.

I consider No Chaser from their Album Mind Games to be a electronic post-hardcore staple song. Masterpiece in that genre.
