Can someone explain to me how you 'print' titanium? Like, is this cheaper than forming it or cutting/milling it into its shape? Really don't get the whole 3D printing craze.

I advise that you explain the 3D print process in future videos (or have someone else explain it). Among the many methods, less knowledgeable folks are thinking that maybe they could print parts on their inexpensive FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) machine. The SLS (Selective Laset Sintering) machine used for the joints (not the whole bike... again misleading title) is way more expensive. An interesting video, but some info missing.
agreed, i will leave the most technical explanations to the engineers of atherton bikes! perhaps ill do a more in depth look at the additive manuufacturing process in future!

I'm sorry but the frame is quite ugly, it reminds me of a flat-pack bike, just a few tubes & pipes slapped together. If the frame is sold for cheap then, of course, that will it more admirable. I have a feeling you're going to charge a hefty sum for these frames?
the technology used to additive manufacture these bikes is absolutley cutting edge stuff, its not a bike that gets made in a warehouse in the far east and then shipped over... technology that is changing the game!

£3200 for a frame? id rather buy a YT thanks £2000 and you get the full bike, sorry im welsh and always admired the Athertons but no following silly prices for a bike its put me off the industry when you look at you can buy a Motorcross bike with an engine ffs its just a dirty industry just money money orintated

Absolutely amazing bike; pretty sure a custom Atherton would be my money-no-object grail bike. That said I can't agree that this one is "pure stealth" after you used bright orange forks (with Kashima everything), gold brakes and purple pedals.

That frame is deeply sick. Were the titanium components made via DMLS, (direct metal laser sintering)? I'm a CNC machine setter by trade, and a home 3D printer for fun. Additive manufacturing, (3D printing) is the latest tech and is super interesting. Our works already have a couple of 3D printing machines, mostly for prototyping. It's not wasteful like cnc milling or lathe turning, and by that I mean that the product does not produce large amounts of waste metal, which then needs recycling.

I think these frames and its engineering idea are firstly done by a company called robot bikes. They came up with the idea. Seems like Athertons bought the idea.

Is there a UK importer of trickstuff brakes I would like to replace my sram Guides with them but the German website has them currently out of stock
Simon Matthews contact a supplier in one of the cites that does have them in stock, preferably someone as high up as possible like the ceo, they will often be more then happy to bring such expensive items to your country even when the UK is not on their site. did the same when I ordered a entire shimano slx and xt mixed groep set and brakes.
They cost like £1500 quite an upgrade from guides😂

Very pretty bike! Excellent concept of just have key areas reinforced and the tubes carbon.. No wear and tear of carbon components. Will there be a trail version of this bike as well in the future?
exactly! the lugs, double lap shear joints, tubes, are all so strong! by trail do you mean 130mm or something? i class this 150mm as trail but yes, a 130mm is coming

Awesome to know that the athertons own Dyfi Bike park, here in Cymru🏴 . Love the look of the bike, I love the DIY attitude that I have seen in the vids. I am an 18 year old English boy myself, and I have a Hybrid bicycle(that I choose a few years back for England🙁🙄), one day I will come down when I have everything fixed and a decent mountain bike.
Having a basic 3D printer, and being a carpentry student I find the videos very interesting. I live in Anglesey now. Keep up the good work👍

Rode one at an immersion day last year at Dyfi. Absolutely incredible! Rode like a dream. Didn’t even get my Bronson out the car I was having that much fun.
