OH I'm loving these vlogs Rach ! So good to see you in good health and riding again . When you fell off the skinny I honestly shouted "NOOOOOO" ! Thought you may have injured the ankle ! Great vibe to your vids , loving seeing bike park developments and great seeing Olly riding out with you .... proper MTB couple. Looking forward to the next episode already, weathers looking great across there in Wales too.
That's a better demo on a tire change than any of the 'tech' guys have ever done, and, by the way, the world is not ready for '5 of you'. Your energy would cause it to explode. Thank you for picking us all up.
haha no way, thanks! i wasnt really sure why i was doing it in a "lesson" type way, it just happened that way! cos i thought everyone knows how to change a tyre, this is stupid! almost took it out, but then left it in, so glad you like it! phew!
So glad you have a Channel now Rachel. I am a HUGE fan and have been following your career, and Dan and Gee's for years. You are all rockstars! Great Video!!!
@@RachelAtherton1 OMG! Wow! Thank you for the response! It means the absolute world to me as a fan of mtn biking. Already been paying attention to Gee on the other channel too. Thank you, thank you!!!!
Love these videos - it's so awesome to get to know your personality outside of racing. Plus I love cheering you on when you crush a new jump! I can't wait until my leg/ankle is more okay with landing and taking the impact so I can start learning and practicing how to jump (broke my leg last fall). So stoked for you and your progress! Also love that you're running Stan's wheels - my fiance works for Stan's. Can't wait for the next video!
hi noelle! thanks so muc, and hope your leg heals good - take the time and make small progressions, dont rush! just get super comfortable! stans is SUCH an awesome company all the guys are so nice, tell him whats up!
You and Olly seem such a pair, lovely seeing you two riffing off each other so Well! I enjoy these videos Rach, such good craic!! The editing is getting better and better might I add, if I might request a few more of your typed on-screen comments, they are so funny!
Hi Rachel! Just subscribed after watching this video clip. May the force be with you!!! Just fyi, I honestly said that to only two riders that is so deserving about the iconic phrase. Because you and TH are ICONS of the racing world. Thank you!!
Awesome Rach - so pleased you're getting some faster riding in - it really shows how much good it's doing you... I fixed a puncture on Oliver's balance bike yesterday and even though it's only 12", it's the only tyre I need levers on #monsterthumbs
Loving the energy and fun in this edit. Awesome riding too. I am really enjoying seeing the person behind the fierce competitor. Love your leggings too. Thanks for vid.
Enjoying the vids and really good to see an insight into the bike park with all the new features and building etc. Just hoping after all the restrictions get lifted I get to ride there for our comp in Sept/Oct.
Living the dream - great to see the family having set up a great life following working hard and making the most of their talent. Those flow trails at Dyfi are looking more my thing than the steep tech of those early trails too!
dude this is so sick man!! you literally seem like such a cool person to ride with, your speed is insaneee dude!! so freaking inspirational :)) bte those tracks look like there coming on sooo good!!
Hi Rach, thanks for the videos, really enjoying them. I did my achilles also in October, its great to see you back on the bike and up to speed, good motivation for me as your a couple of months further along I think.

your videos are so cool! very good fotage, some mechanic skill, ur animals and nice riding. New favorite channel. And btw the rims get smashed anyway ;)
If you have a circular trash can, I find that putting the tire flat on that helps me gain leverage to pull the tire casing over the rim. it's something I learned from other bike mechanics while working in bike shops.
Great to see you riding your bike again! What is the brand of the big metal tire lever you used at beginning of the video? I have the hardest time taking off and mounting tires.
great vid and humour ...again ! 30ft jumps ......makes me getting excited about clearing my first 4.5ft gap jump seem pretty lame !!! lol i blame it on me age !
There is no set number of "pops" when tire beads are seating. Metal tire levers will often cause damage to the rim. Only rarely are levers actually needed. Rims commonly have a shallow trough (where there is a rim strip, it will lie in the bottom of the trough) in the middle of the rim, which the tire can be manipulated into so that the tire becomes slightly off-center. While one side of the tire is in the trough, the opposite side will have a little extra room so that the tire bead can be slid over the edge of the rim. Enough air has to be removed from the tire first.
Awesome vid. Weird but legitimate question my wife likes the trousers your wearing when fitting the tyres and would like to know where she could get a pair!? 😳
@@RachelAtherton1 great thanks👍👖 the wife in question bought me a gift card for the park🤘 (she is ace!) for my 40th looking forward to coming when things pick up, looks like it might be worth the wait! Keep the vlogs coming they're great fun 👍
Wouldn't mind coming and checking this place out, looks rad. I wonder how my eyes will cope with the surface you use. I'm color blind and have an eye condition I got diagnosed with in 2018 which makes riding more difficult and a bit more weather dependant. How is it on the more rainy/damp day's.
yea its so good, getting more tracks all the time... the top half is in the open - no trees - then the lower half goes into the trees so the light is dappled... on rainy damp days it is good, drains super well and not much mud more gravel.... cheers!
@@RachelAtherton1, I feel more confident in woods as the light isn't as intense. Been trying to find the right lenses at the moment I'm trying 100% out now, I got a mirrored gold lens coming and I still where glasses under those with dark tints. So fingers crossed should be enough to get out in these super bright days and enjoy the sun. having a place like that for building and modifying your own track is like winning the lottery ! Cutting branches with cutting pliers here in (BE) Flanders is enough already to upset the tree huggers...

Rachel - You are a natural at this RUclips thing, these are so much fun to watch! Glad to see your riding is coming back very strong.
thanks guys! much love
I love that snap-crackle-pop sound when the beading gets seated !
Thomas Ekstrom that sounds scares the crap out of me. Ever since one of my buddies blew out a rim wall I find compressed air is scary
