But wait there's more! A PO BOX finally wahoo!
First, a disclaimer: So many of you have kindly offered to send me things, including vintage items you may have inherited, and I am so honored you would think of me and of course I do adore vintage treasures, however, unfortunately I only have so much storage space currently! So there is a chance that if something just wont work for me, or doesn't fit me etc, that I may not be able to keep all of your lovely things. Please only send things if you are okay with the possibility that I may donate items I just cannot keep. If you would prefer I put things that I can't keep into the TCH Etsy shop to help raise funds for me and the channel, please specify this in a note or letter in your parcel. Thank you so much!

Thank you for watching! - Хобби
Knowing several postal workers and delivery drivers, it isn't *scaring* them, it's entertaining! You are adding enrichment to their migration route. Also, because the dressing gown covers most of the subject, it's a lot less uncomfortable for everyone involved.
You are underrated! If there were RUclips awards for design, content, aesthetic beauty, music choice, variety, and skill teaching ability you would get even more recognition.
Agree! I know creating shorts would be more work, but I feel certain that excerpts from her lookbooks (short films really) would get more viewers. They wouldn't need to be further edited; just start at the beginning and cut it when out of time!
Agree
Thank you Donna!!
I /really/ must learn how...it's a goal for next year 😬
The tassel hack is an example of what a delight you are to watch. You just slip these little nuggets in along the way that are quite inspiring. And demystifying. Thank you!
The most opulent of house coats to wander about dusty mansion halls with your antique candelabra ❤❤
“I thunk a thought I can’t unthink.” Lol and now I shall forever think of this as the alchemy grad robe lol and pray for your tassels. Thank you for sharing
If you're ever hard pressed to make custom tassels, metallic embroidery thread is really nice. Grab a couple hanks together, tie the head of the tassel, THEN take the labels off and cut the bottom loop. Regular cotton embroidery floss doesn't have the right movement, unfortunately, but sometimes you can find nylon "silky" thread that works pretty well.
"Every one wants to be Cary Grant. Even I want to be Cary Grant." -- Cary Grant -- When my attempts at elegance fail I remember the greatest of all icons, Cary Grant.
Seeing you start to think it looks like a graduation gown is very funny, because I was making a big barbie pink robe similar to this in a dupioni/shantung for someone and almost started from scratch because it started looking like some baptist church choir robe! All comes together in the end though 😂
🤣 it is universal! ✨
I use a million pins while sewing. I definitely sew over them because I cannot stop every .2 seconds to remove one and hope my shape is maintained. And if I don't use a million pins, I've basted the pieces into submission.
The thumbnails for this series are sooooo dramatic; and the clothes are lovely too.
I learned a few decades ago on my mom's Singer fashion mate, sewing over pins like it's nothing. Went a few years without a sewing machine until my mother in law gifted me her newer Brother machine with lots of stitches (and no internal metal frame, as far as I can gather). It did not like sewing over pins. It is much less forgiving and less sturdy than the old metal beast, though the wide variety of stitches is very nice. I sew infrequently enough that I won't be replacing it, but yeah, there's a difference.
Very helpful comment, I've been debating getting a vintage machine or a modern electric one
Perfectly over the top drama that we all love!!! xxxxxxxx
Do I need to be getting to sleep? Yes. Am I going to watch this first because I make questionable life choices? Also, yes. That's a problem for future me. Current me loves a good, extravagant house coat.
This is absolutely stunning!! And today is super serendipitous because I'm officially starting fashion college on January, and just finished registering for classes today.
Cliché aside, after watching your videos for the last year+ have really inspired me to continue my education and get back in school. Getting an Associates of Fashion in technical pattern design :) I can't wait!!
Her inspiration is life changing!
Wonderful! Best of luck and don't forget to sleep occasionally 😁
Good luck with school, you'll do well I'm sure. Just remember your end goal when you're doing things you don't enjoy or seem related.
Thank you! I hope you have an amazing time and learn all the things!!
@@TheClosetHistorian thank YOU!! :)
Every time I am amazed by all of the work your doing. Not only designing and sewing them but also editing, doing voice overs and and and. It’s simply amazing.
Thank you!!
Bianca, you do Epic so stylishly!
Thank you Kaytie!
Fabulous as always! And the trick of pinning fabric to your ironing board while you sort out the pleats is so good! I'll have to file that one away for future use. I hope you have a lovely trip to CA to see your grandparents.
Thank you Laurel!
The illusion of elegance covering our low dexterity is how we tricksy gremlins fool people; you're in good company,
I truly love the way you think! Having a house to justify the house coats is a great idea! It would have to be eloquent. Also love the idea of making tassels with the fabric threads. I had never thought of it but it's perfect!
The house coat is stunning!
Thank you Robin!
Your hanging around the house clothes just went couture! Enjoy your week off with your grandparents.
xoxo's Sandie
Totally agree. If you have some iridescent shantung, it needs to be used. . . gorgeous giant holder for cat toys.😄. In which Bee is chased through her gorgeous haunted mansion being chased not by ghosts, but by her cats trying to grab her ribe tassels.
absolutely gorgeous, but i would fall down as soon as i put it on. but i love it.
Thank you!
I would just add a bit of removable or replaceable fleece or flannel into the underside of the train, that way my floors could get swept while I wear a fabulous swooshy house coat. You'd have a reason to dance and twirl because you're "cleaning the floors". When one bottom fleece gets dirty, replace with a new one, wash the old one and switch them out as needed. Violà!
wow, the dilated eye contacts makes hood even more cool
It's most fabulous! No graduate look here - I think it's over the moon beautiful and wearing it should make you feel magical! x's lj
Thank you!
I would never have thought of that double ruffle hack, that's damn good! 😁
Currently drafting a satin dressing gown with watteau pleats falling from the waist and bishop sleeves. I used your princess seam tutorial to adjust my block. It was so easy. Thank you!
Sounds fantastic to me! ✨
I wish graduation robes were this pretty! epic housecoat of epicness!
The tassels have personality!✨Also, your new high-back chair somehow creates more visual depth. I'm sure it's comfy, but it looks nice, too!
Thank you Penny! I need to make a velvet slipcover for it or something so it has more glamour 😂✨
I love the finished housecoat! It looks like it’s rather warm but is very elegant.
I know it’s meant to be worn at home, but it looks like the kind of outfit a woman searching the moors on a misty night would wear…
Thank you!!
This green coat is a decadent dream! Outstanding work yet again
Thank you!!
Beautiful ❤
Awesome tip for double ruffles!
I've learned to sew in the last ten years, on machines built in the last ten years. I have sewn over pins, because I watch too many youtubers who tell me I'll live. Absolutely no problem when using nice, long, thin pins. One needle broken, which I maintain was a fluke, three pins bent six ways to Sunday, zero incidents of shamefully confessing my scandalous behavior to the machine repair shop in town. But I can only find those pins with platic heads and thus not iron over. The second I use nail-headed or glass-headed pins, which are a bit thicker, I start fearing for my life. Those suckers are not bending without a fight.
Maybe the issue isn't just that older machines are utter beasts. Maybe old school sewists just have better pin dealers.
making the tassels out of the fabric threads is just so... one of those "why didn't I think of that" things. Just brilliant! (although I suspect unraveling the fabric could be a pain in the butt depending on what the fabric is.)
Omg! Another shiny masterpiece. Looks absolutely heavenly 🥰
Thank you!!
I cant wrap my head around this much talent and range❤
Thank you!!
You mentioned being clumsy and always breaking glasses; I broke a bowl emptying the dishwasher about an hour before watching this video 😂 I KNOW how you feel!
I always have a favorite coffee mug...until I break it within six months 😅
love the backstory
🎉 it's absolutely ridiculous I live love it ...
Happy Thanksgiving, Ms. B!!🦃 Enjoy your visit with your family!! And if you come up to LA remember I'm right here in Pasadena and would love to take you to lunch!! Anytime, a standing invitation for my favorite artist on youtube!!👏👏👏
Thank you Marcco! Focused on family time this trip, but I hope you're having an excellent autumn!
Gorgeous! (I want one!) And the music is fabulous. Having grown up in a haunted house, I can tell you that, while they can be lot of fun, waking up (alone in the house) to a series of weird noises, chiding the cat and discovering she is in bed with you can be... disconcerting. Echoes are better than actual spirits. Far too easy for spirits to be something you Do Not Want. I can't wait to see whatever house you find.
I always knew you are a wizard!! 🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful and love fabric use for this project.
Thank you!
so beautiful
Thank you Sandra!
I love it. Have a good break.x
Thank you!
Fold over ruffles?! Genius!! Why hadn't I thought of that? Also if seeing the interfacing bothers you enough you could always cut a facing without the shoulder seam, fold the seam allowances under and handsew it over? Enjoy your holiday.
That housecoat is glorious 🥰. I hope one day I can make one for myself.
Thank you!
I just found you in my YT feed. How happy I am !!!! I love your content and have already learned so much. I've already begun to get my busy long weekend in to learn/make my basic bodice, sleeve, and skirt sloper. I plan to follow along on your full slip or maybe the blouse tutorial to get my feet wet at putting the slopers to use. Thank you!
Thank you!!
How beautiful! And I just kept admiring the flowers on your hand! Very elegant!❤
Thank you Diana!
I'm too tired to come up with something eloquent, but I like it :)
If graduation gowns looked like this i would be wearing mine every day. This is absolutely stunning. Love the ruffles on the bottom!! The bias finish in the sleeves!! ❤
Thank you! It would certainly be better if the "gowns" one had to buy were useful at all afterwards 😅
I love watching your videos... you are very talented
Thank you!
Glorious!
Thank you!!
That coat is gorgeous!
Thank you!
Another fun one to watch. Thanks for sharing your sewing journey.
I'm still conceptualizing making a robe. I recently bought some red velvet that might work.
Hi, Thank you for the video. In it's green glory this is a fabulous robe.
If you take requests, I would love a video on sleeves. How to know when you can make a straight sleeve-side seam and when you should go for a set in sleeve. Different examples of puff and bishop sleeves and a dolman sleeve for instance. Perhaps even a historical time line. I always think how come you can look at a blouse, or sweater even, and say that's a thirties to forties kind of top.
I hope you have a wonderful time in San Diego. I wait patiently for the next episode. Yours, Ann
You look great!!! The silhouette is not at all scary.
Wow the set at the end is amazing 😍😍
Thank you!
Love the robe! it's so pretty...and no shame about sewing over the pins, I'm more than guilty of the same :)
Thank you Anthony!
Lovely.
Practically Fabulous~ 🎉😂
Oh my goodness it's beautiful ❤❤
Thank you Carol!
Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your meals and try not over tax your tummy 😊. I love your tassels 😊.
Thank you!
Absolutely fabtastic!!!!❤❤❤❤
Thank you Sarah!
i am literally a pajama gremlin! a clumsy, bumbling, breaker-of-things ~
Great work and commentary as usual!!!
Thank you Kathryn!
Thank you lovely : )
Wonderful!
Gorge. I'm a sucker for a good tassel...or three, as the case may be!
I love the ruffle. That would make less bulk
Why have I never used that method of pleating?! It looks so simple!
Eventually realizing I've never simply had the fabric laying on the table as a flat thing, because I'm always pleating an existing skirt to go back into a resized waistband.
But maybe ripping out the entire length of one side seam (as opposed to just the length to install pockets), and working on the pleats flat, would be a fair bit easier.
Hmmm...
Thanks!
Enh... the impractical you're making still teaches me things I can use for the practical only things I make. And I can live vicariously, without having to store the incredible garments.
You are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Modern machines aren't built to handle a pin being bent into the machine. Thankfully mine's over 30 years old and just takes it in stride still.
I remember stories from my grandmother of people sewing through their fingers, bones and all, so if a pin is that lethal, I think we're all in trouble if we need a new machine, lol.
Very pretty 😀
Thank you!
Hi. How are your cats doing?
Thanx for all the gorgeous and inspirational content!
Thank you! The cats are wonderful cuddy silly goobers ❤️
You are so talented, I love watching your videos and my goodness I wish I could have your assistance for the headache nightmare of a pattern I'm drafting from pictures of a 1940s two piece. It is driving me insane, and a total piece of garmentary witchcraft... 😅 you give me such strength to persevere! Looking forward to your next video :D
Thank you Rosalind! I hope the pattern has begun to behave by now!
B. In Pasadena us a store called Remainders, you might look into it while in CA.
I past right by it but they were closed over the Thanksgiving weekend!! Next time I hope!
Have you seen RUclipsr Micarah’s new house, in the middle of nowhere, which is why it was affordable! The two of you are Goth Snow White and Fractured Frozen Princess …😊
Do you follow the archeologist/ geologist Miniminute man? He just bought one even more out in the country and in worse shape.
I played The Wicked Witch of the West in my graduation robe (which is black).
I ended up skipping my graduation. I'm not spending hundreds of dollars on a hat and gown that I can only use once
Wondering if you're planning on/ hoping to go to Costume College in LA next July?
That's amazingly ridiculous :D
Alos, go easy on yourself... You don't have to make sewing videos all the time... Or even videos if you don't feel like it. We support you :)
Thank you! ❤️
Sometimes you have hazel eyes, sometimes blue with a dark ring - which one is it? I like your hazel eyes - they seem more in keeping with your coloring, although you look great whichever eyes you display.
Well the blue (and occasional yellow) are contacts I can assure you 😅
I love iridescent fabric, would you please make an iridescent white copy of the iconic Marilyn Munroe blowing up dress?
I just watched Hank Green explain exactly how ghosts are made. I took notes. If your future mansion is shy one disembodied spirit, post it in a pinned comment. No hurry.
You should get to know Christine McConnell. She can help with the spooky Victorian 👻 house
i would love to make this but im bad at pattern making
Is using more tape better or worse for the environment than using more paper? How could you even find out? As when you talked about the pros and cons of fabrics, these kinds of issues are so complicated
One could use a paper based (like masking tape) tape if they were /that/ dedicated 😅 Personally I don't have a lot of hope for the human experiment in general, but I just don't want to buy another 30 pound roll of paper before I move!
@@TheClosetHistorian I i can't wait to see your house!
Did I miss where she sourced the shantung from?
Random seller on Etsy months and months ago ✨
I think this is a graduation robe from Shizz University?
My new leopard print robe is now feeling very subpar.
Leopard print is always a glam choice!
xXX👍👍👍
Hi Bianca! Do you have an email for brand partnerships? Would love to chat about partnering on a crafty partnership - thanks!
Okay, I'm going to ask a REALLY Stupid question, do you sell any of your patterns? I think they are marvelous 💖🪡✨
Thank you! I don't sell my patterns, as it would be very cost prohibitive to have them properly sized into a full range, instead I teach pattern drafting here on the channel so that more people can learn to do it on their own ❤️
If you got to the la garment district would you do a little video talking about what shops go to or like what it'd like when you do visit? I literally live 20 minutes away from it but the anxiety is real lolol 🥲
Alas I only went to Mood becuase the fabric district proper is just a little too sketch to be parking the rental car in with my suitcase in the back...😅
