The extra octave string is such a good idea. I was able to play the Roger McGuinn 7 string at the Martin factory in Pennsylvania some years back. Awesome!
Did you get one? Ive been going to guitar shops for a couple of years but never felt a full 12 was right for me it's too much twang too much tuning etc.
HI guys, Big fan of Andertons channel for a long time now. I'm in the market for a sub 400 quid Accoustic, how do you think these compare to the Sire's? To my hear the Sire's sound richer and more premium sounding, but I know I'm just listening on RUclips and not actually in the room lol I would be really interested to now because I'm itching to hit the buy button on an Accoustic after stupidly selling my entry level acoustic I'd owned for 15 years last year.
Although my old Sigma has been relegated down the list of personal go to guitars in recent times, it still plays & sounds great when ever I pick it up. Have to say that when I bought it, I was prepared to spend a bit more money, but tried a couple of Martin's & the Sigma for me played & sounded better. I still struggle to believe it was only £250. Even now when I pick up a guitar in store in that £600 - £900 bracket they often don't feel or sound as good.
The music organiser at cider where my band plays is a lovely old lady. Her natural vocal key is G. That 7 string being tuned to a low G would be perfect for her. I will definitely show her this video next time my band go to the cider house. Well, if and when everything opens again. We are completely shut down.
All that compression, reverb and extra post processing sounds nice from a listening standpoint, but from a buyer's standpoint, it would be nice to hear how these guitars really sound in the room. I mean they are acoustic guitars after all so let's not 86 the sound of the room they're being played in ;)
I was always under the impression that Sigma was owned by Martin, as sort of their affordable brand. My first acoustic guitar was a sigma. Of course that was before you could get one with a pickup for less than $500 -$700.
. I for one prefer classical guitars . Besides that I think it’s hard to judge. With amp or without! And then the surroundings are especially important.
You clearly messed that Drop-A tuning on the 7-string. But you're still ahead of my local guitar store, they have 6-string Fanfret acoustics but no 7-string.
i did play a sigma once in a music shop, it was a 700 quid j200 thing, and it was nicer souding and easier to play than to 5 grand taylor i played first
Pete, that is not a 7 Stringer, anyway that does not have an Extra String it has its 3rd String Doubled, the High G will be and Extra String only to the Principal of a 5 Course Banjo, a Drone or Thumb, the 7 String adds the Low B, that Guitar is a Sigma Dm6dbl⅙3rd-e the number of Strings it has is this: 6 dbl⅙3 (Not 7)
The video he posted saying he's off to get a Maltese passport has been taken down. Probably as it has now alerted us to there being an empty house full of guitars in Brighton (or wherever it is).
@@hotblackdesiato3451 I saw most of it as he went live. He was filming from a small apartment, he managed to take his katana, a chapman guitar, a tubescreamer and a small wah. And he had a new haircut, looked way better.
@@maacrl Yeah, I watched it too but obviously all his gear won't fit in that apartment and he said they kind of left in a hurry before all flights get cancelled. Still a bit odd though to pull the video.
The tones through the microphones were quite impressive for an affordable guitar. The Amp sounds get a firm thumbs down from me. If you're taking proposals for Ben's stage moniker, try out Big Ben Stringsmith
What a great pair these two are! And what a great addition Ben is! Thanks gents, and thanks to the Captain for making it happen.
Amazing jams gents ! Absolutely stunning
Glad you enjoyed the video... Thanks for watching! 🤘
@@andertons Pete is on his usual amazing level but Agent Smith's playing is out of this world :)
That outro jam put such a massive smile on my face. Love it.
Ben - your nails match the tones your hands produce. Pure gold homie! Sounds great

Beautifully done!
'We apologise again for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.
was kind of hoping id hear some acoustic djent
11:02 please release Pete's rant as a separate video
Let’s have a series of Pete Rants videos!
@@benzakonium I give it my vote
eff ess Agreed, I actually love hearing Pete and Lee talk about stuff they’re passionate about, good and not good.
That 7-string is a clever bit of kit. I didn't expect to like it, but it sounded a lot better than its price would suggest.
The extra octave string is such a good idea. I was able to play the Roger McGuinn 7 string at the Martin factory in Pennsylvania some years back. Awesome!
Would love the tuning video!😍
Looks like we know our next Acoustic Paradiso... 😉
Gambale Tuning as well?
Love to see these pair jamming should do an album now please loved that riff on the 7 string from you both. cheers lads brilliant review.
That 7 String deserves a separate video
Yes, maybe also a comparison with some 8-string (Taylor made one, I think)
Another Monday with Ben, Pete and Andertons! I look forward to these videos every week. You guys sound great.
Great playing
Outstanding jamming....OMG......I have no more words.....
YES to the Nashville tuning thing, I've wanted to do that for years. I want that seven string too.
I love my 2018 Sigma DM-15+. Such great guitars for the money.
I also had to have a strap button added to the neck joint. The store I bought it at did it at no extra charge.
Great intro jam. Those Sigmas sound mighty fine indeed,
I’ve wanted the Martin HD7 Roger McGuinn for a long time. This may finally be my change to have that tone 👌🏽
Did you get one? Ive been going to guitar shops for a couple of years but never felt a full 12 was right for me it's too much twang too much tuning etc.
Love love love the acoustic videos!!
Uhhh....Best Closing Jam Ever!

What a sweet lick - I’ve been using my guild “ high strung” and loving it , the 7 string is a cool idea👍
Dear Andertons team. Please upload more videos to help us get through this lockdown.
Heck yeah I want a video with those different tunings!
A video about alternative tunings would be awesome :)
Lovely jams guys!
Straight into my top 10 Anderton jams!
Pete and Ben and the camera crew are podding? (Gorgeous jams, as always! And very welcome in these strange times!)
That jam was great
excellent jam
We NEED these videos to keep us sane during our house arrest. Thanks guys!
Awesome jams!

At 8:08, that sounds so lovely with both guitars together
Best brand nowadays! I have the j45 and is 1 of a kind!😍
Very "Baby, I love your ways" intro 😄
Alas, you have baited my click, was hoping to see Ben and Pete drop some absolutely KVLT acoustic Dj0nt
An alternate tuning video would be fabulous
That’s a dope intro jam, can we get some tabs please sirs!
If you have to choose between gsme and dsme, which one would you buy? In the video dsme sound more "bassy"
I remember Sigma being a cheaper division of Martin, in the 80s. ANYWHO, I’ll take the Gibson one!
All that compression, reverb and extra post processing sounds nice from a listening standpoint, but from a buyer's standpoint, it would be nice to hear how these guitars really sound in the room. I mean they are acoustic guitars after all so let's not 86 the sound of the room they're being played in ;)
You should play more the short scale models as this is the only "review" available on the net
yes please. tuning vid would be good. love the jams! oh, and how about "Beano Smythe" ? Ü ♫
I was always under the impression that Sigma was owned by Martin, as sort of their affordable brand. My first acoustic guitar was a sigma. Of course that was before you could get one with a pickup for less than $500 -$700.
Martin sold the rights to the sigma brand some years ago. I believe they're made in china now
awesome, thank you
That things sounds great.
. I for one prefer classical guitars . Besides that I think it’s hard to judge. With amp or without! And then the surroundings are especially important.
MMMMM Gold finga !
Do the all solid Sigma models!
Ben has a great ‘raised eyebrow’ face when playing, coupled with his slick style, how about Smouldering Ben Smith?
Just watched a Wahoff between Mrs Smith and Kirk Hammet, this is cumfortably sane.
Danish Pete could make a plank and a rubber band sound awesome ;-)
Another glorious day of "wire wizardry"! As if two "Zombie Hunter's" came back to thier "piney" lair for some post apocalyptic jamming.Rock On !
5:03 “The neck is just ayum”. Hvordan er det sammenlignet med en wizzard? Haha😂🤘
So much nicer with mic!
You clearly messed that Drop-A tuning on the 7-string.
But you're still ahead of my local guitar store, they have 6-string Fanfret acoustics but no 7-string.

The 7 string guitar would sound very cool tuned to DADGAD!!
where are they made?
Was that opening "Off the Record" from Aaron Watson???
Noice jams.
What’s triple points worth on a 370 £item ? In cost
you're not 2 meters apart though... BORIIIIS
Jeezus it's hard enough with 6 strings without them putting another string on to confuse me more. 😂😂😂 Respect
Stage name suggestion... Ben D String
Woody Smith!
11:02 Should've kept the rant in, y'all...

12 string has also doubled string and it's called 12 string
new video room?
Finally!
sigma nuts
He's Smithee then?
why the amplifier sounds like a mix between a trumpets and a bee???
Please do a tweed amp shoutout!
How come someone hasn't come up with a way to make piezo pickups sound decent yet?
Nashville Tuning vid please
Martin Smith The 2nd?
Yes please, go through some Jimmy Page style tunings - obviously without getting the stupid copyright blocked thing. Ben is cool.
and so is Pete of course
keep your distance guys
We have put an update in the description of each video explaining the precautions we are taking with filming at the moment.
@@andertons Thank you for adding that! Be safe over there, and thank you for the great jams!
Those are the exact chords, and i mean exact chords and rhythm of live high by jason mraz. Check it out!
Yeah, thanks. That’s not the 7-string that I thought it would be. Where’s the low “B” string? How is one supposed to Djent with this?!
If you are playing acoustic play in a room without soft materials. But if it is amplified it ain’t si important.
Whaaaaat? (As if said by a minion)
7-th string sound very Tom Petty -like
I’m disappointed with that 7 string. I thought it might be an extra bass string so you could have more bass range like tuning to ADADGBE or something.
Hmm, Taylor headstock, Martin headstock or Gibson headstock...
Squeaky squeaky quack quack X
Agent Smith?
A pint is six pounds in the UK now?? Wow.
I'm gonna be honest, I expected something else when I read the title...
Yeah you're here again Pete trying to get us to part with our money;
maybe now that we are all at home it is about time to talk about the chapman question?
He just moved to Malta. Check his channel.
Vappo Riesat he’s left the UK in Malta
