I forgot what my May listening was and the icon no longer appears. I like Water No Get Enemy, too. Also, English Teacher has been showing up on our blend. I like what I’ve heard so far. Beth Gibbons was on the blend, too. I didn’t think much of it but now that I understand the background I’d like to try it again.

Thank you, Justin, for taking the time to listen to "This Could Be Texas". I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed it. I have become a fan of English Teacher since seeing their brilliant performance of "The World's Biggest Paving Slab" on BBC's, "Later... with Jools Holland". I absolutely love the album! I believe that the band will be performing at Glastonbury next week.
I have been thinking about buying the Beth Gibbons album on vinyl. I love the song, "Floating on a Moment". Beth also appeared on "Later" recently, performing two songs from her new album.

My jam list is something like "What the cat brought in" mainly (where the cat is called Justin), with Robert Pollard, Boston Spaceships, Guided by Voices, ... same old same old, but it varies a lot. (Much of it is a mirroring back of the contents of the Professor of Rock's mental archives, but it always has its own twist. And when it's good, it's really, really good. And often when its not, all it takes is a few more listens to range in.)
Oh, and then there's been a special, probably one-off Cardiacs/ Tim Smith commemorative concert series, with live videos and radio appearances posted to RUclips.
So a combination of obsessiveness, and going right into the bottom of the porcupine burrows to bark at the echoes there, and venturing a little into new worlds.
For the less known new stuff, I can recommend the reaction channel, John Crego World Music. He has a knack for finding the good stuff that didn't pass the commercial tests. Look up the Texas band Lick Lick for occasional performances that do something fresh.
Oh, I think I might've mentioned it, but it looks like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum has reconstituted for an unknown quantity of time. So the path is not quite as narrow as it sometimes feels. I can stop chastising myself for restricting my attention to Cardiacs, Major Parkinson, and the various instances of Guided by Voices, then.
(Not much Major Parkinson this month. It's making me sad, seeing the small view counts their videos get. They have a solid live shows audience but ... ja, I suppose they're just too weird or something. And maybe I am too. Although for me that's fine. I don't need to follow the team that wins the League. I'd better not call that boring, but it doesn't have much appeal. So it's all good. Except for Major Parkinson. They should've gotten a Grammy for their Night at the Library online show, for instance.)

Love that you are listening to Hania Rani. Saw her live in Cologne last year and it blew my mind. One of the most talented artists of her generation. Her global audience is growing each day.
