Glad I'm not the only one that's going to miss the light switch. I use that 99% of the time before using the tool regardless of what the tool is. Have to agree though - the Octane tools I have are easily the best. Wish they didn't kill the JobMax.

As a casual user/homeowner, I bought into the Octane line. I now have a handful of tools and batteries. What I want is more selection of tools that a DIY might want. Not necessarily contract grade, but a variety. Enough with the drills. Also some decent yard tools like a weed trimmer and chainsaw would keep me in the brand for sure.
I would love to see more job box options from rigid. They have a good base with the 3 piece, organizer, crate and mobile box but can we get more options please.
Hey Clint…did they give you any indication as to weather or not they were going to add yard equipment to the line up? (Since they’re already produced under the AEG label). Thanks.
I just bought into the whole Octane lineup this year and only after I was through most of my purchases I learned that Octane was going out the door, along with the jobmax system. I think it's kinda fortunate I got before it was discontinued as to me the whole new lineup looks like a downgrade and I'll probably be buying whatever misc. GEN5X stuff I don't have before all the new stuff comes in next year. The only thing I like are the new chargers and nailers (even though I'll probably be buying pneumatic ones instead of the battery powered models).
Ridgid guy myself for many years, love the warranty and quality, the job box carry boxes and all are great. How bout a good Ridgid brand Tool backpacks, maybe some good hand tools. Milwaukee has created a great line of wrenches, pliers, cutters etc etc.

I think Ridgid should come out with an extended neck cordless ratchet... I think it would sell well vs. A regular head one. Also, the aeg lawn tool line brought to the USA... Doubt that stuff would be covered under the LSA but if so it would be a game changer for the cordless outdoor tool industry
@@scottcpan68 I believe that's what I've seen as well, but a ridgid rep straight up told me just the other day that a ridgid right angle impact isn't currently on the table. Shame, the new SC RA drill is surprisingly good.
I'm on the ridgid platform and it would be really nice if they made the same tools as Milwaukee and Ryobi. I would love a weedwacker and blower I already have the batteries I just dont want to have my bench filled up with 2 or 3 or 4 different chargers. I see whats going to happen here. I'm getting forced into another company platform because they have many different tool varieties such as automotive, lawn and garden, etc and my ridgid tools is going to be pushed aside and eventually sold. Ryobi is looking better and better with there new line up.
I think TTL deliberately keep the Ridgid lineup limited so that it doesn't eat too much into their Milwaukee line. With Ryobi being the homeowner line that most pros won't take seriously, they can expand it out exponentially with no consequences.
I would like there to not be any more new battery platforms invented for a good long while, unless they are some kind of brand neutral open standard. It's mostly all TTI, they're very good at what they do, adding any more lines just reduces the odds that any new tool you want is on whatever platform you use. Now if there was a neutral standard in the same way that WiFi and USB are standards, and it actually got support to end this fragmented battery thing once and for all, that would be cool.
I'm a huge Ridgid fanboy. I been in the Ridgid ecosystem since the x4 tools. The LSA sold me years ago when I was picking a brand. I put every tool I own through hell and back, literally, I build haunted attractions. It's probably why i'm drawn to the black and orange, I love Halloween. I have yet to have one fail. I haven't used an LSA yet and every single Ridgid tool I own is still rockin' like the day I bought it.
I like how Ryobi makes a lot of non-tool products like sprayers, seed spreaders, pole saws, weed wackers, etc., and you can use their batteries on them. The last thing I need is another collection of batteries and chargers. My only complaint is that I get ridiculed by tool guys when I use Ryobi but it works for me. Ridgid should consider expanding their universe.
Ridgid is coming out with a cordless ratchet!!! Just saw in email today, any videos on this yet or planning on it? Also, how does the new brushless circular 7 1/4 saw compare to the octane one? The octane is 200rpm faster even though the new literature states the new brushless one is 35% "faster"... Faster than what?
My favorite tool from rigid is the stealth impact driver. oil driving. That thing is a beast. I have the octane hammer drill. The chuck doesn't work right. The drill always loses power and doesn't work. I have to beat on it to get to speed up faster. I loved rigid for years. That's all I bought. Now I switched back to dewalt.
When I first got into construction 20 years ago I heard rigid tools were really well made. Funny. In 20 years I’ve rarely seen a tradesman use their stuff. It’s Milwaukee or dewalt, occasionally makita. I personally use Milwaukee everything. I’ve never been more satisfied with a tool manufacturer. Highly recommend for plumbers.
Great video Clint. When will you be having the video comparing the new Ridgid orbital recip vs the Milwaukee Gen 2 or Super Sawzall. I’ve been eyeing the Gen 2, but I would get the Ridgid if it performed as good.. Thanks for what you do for us tool aficionados.
@@ToolReviewZone thanks Clint. I saw your video introducing the new Ridgid orbital recip, but I could find the comparison video. I do like what Ridgid is coming out with. I can see why Vince didn’t think too highly of Ridgid before you guys visited them.

Hoping rigid will see this. I am a homeowner and Ryobi user. I recently had issues with Ryobi batteries so I decided to make a switch to Rigid even replacing tools that were nearly new from Ryobi rather thsn mess with two battery types. Huge part of my decision was the lifetime service on tools and batteries!!! and that the oerformance is very good. The only down side is that the tool line is much narrower. I'd like to see an 18v air compressor, power washer, and other useful tools. My wife and I bought an rv so cordless tools are essential to maintain it while on the move. MORE TOOLS PLEASE!!!!!
The Octane brushless planer, brushless/cordless propane heater, and hand held inflator are really good tools and better than the others in industry Rigid doesn't do everything well but they do have some good tools Metabo HPT is my latest go to over the last few years replacing some.of my Makita and Milwaukee tools
well i use bosch because they fit my hand better when i bought them. the thing is they all still work 25+ years later. i just had to get 4 batteries for my 24 ni-cad tools because i killed all of mine. the 10" miter saw works great again. i do have an 18V lion set of drill and impac for work ( boilers and chillers ) but i don't see get more till i break stuff. have things improved over the years? of course they have. is brushless better in most ways? yes , but then again how often do you wear out a brush on a motor and is the improvements worth the cost? brushes, 2 times once on a pump motor that runs 24/7 and on my dads drill, never on a tool i bought. with what i do no they are not worth the price. there isn't room for power tools in some spaces and others none of them have to power to remove a steam damaged bolt. ( that is a breaker bar an 4" heavy conduit )
I just stumbled onto your channel, honestly didn't like the mental break downs at first. Now it's the part of the video that I look forward to. Hilarious
The demo’s were great. If you are saying you are impressed, I believe it! Looks like they were running the Milwaukee Ax blades on the reciprocating saws. Awesome video, hilarious! 🤣
I have a lot of ridgid tools..that new saw there the blade is a lefty..which I call a worm saw...i have the same saw but its a righty..i just bought the biggest snake they make..to unclog vent pipes and drains. Ridgid tools are cool with lifetime warranty you just have to register them
I want ridgid to make camping tri fuel inverters. Plus more tools for us Maintenance techs like electrical or mechanical. I picked that 6 1/2 saw up and it cuts better than my 7 1/4 octane i love it nice job Ridgid
Very well done video! Loved the commentary..😁😅. I also have had good luck with my Ridgid tools. Have had some since 2013 with no problems, no lsa claims (accept a charger) on any tools. They are used a lot and at times pretty hard in non ideal conditions. Keep up the great work 👍
I've had a couple go bad on me, but they took care of them with the LSA. They also definitely had a couple strikes in the past, but also made some of my favorite tools that I still use today. To bad I can't afford the propane for my Ridgid torpedo heater this year 🥺
I can't believe you just made me watch a VCG video ! 🤔 It's been a long time since i've watched VCG but to be fair to vince i did manage to watch that one all the way through 🤣 Intresting video , looks like Ridgid are moving forward , we don't really see them in the UK but hopefully this will push the competition more 👍
ove ridgid great video. But leave philly out of it haha. My now i am second guessing buying the the older one handed sawzall thats on its way. But i have the brushed 6 1/2" saw and i love it. With the 4ah battery its kicks ass. Keep up the videos. When is the one handed sawzall coming out and should i return the one on its way now?
What's up Paul! I have the octane as well, and it's not a bad saw. I would probably keep it to be honest as it works good. I believe this version comes out in December if I remember correctly
I've ran ridgid for 20ish years, along with 3+ years of the big 3. Ridgid has been on and off for a long time. I really hope they really do something. Gen 5x, is most current that I got, and after seeing what Milwaukee has done as a whole & ryobi (especially innovation) it's time ridgid steps up, for real. And where are there hand tools? I've got their screwdrivers that rival snapon. Let me know when you get serious about a comeback.
I started out with Rigid and currently started switching over to DeWalt little by little. I still own 8 of their 4 amp batteries so buying some updated Rigid tools isn't out of the question.
@@ToolReviewZone Thx TRZ I have had mine for about 10 years. I really like them but they have almost no tools and even the batteries are hard to find anymore. Milwaukee, DeWalt, Bosch, and Makita are all investing and expanding their lines and it feels like crickets from Ridgid.
Fun & informative video! 😉 And I'm going to save the day & rush over to your 'best buds' Vinny a Philly cheese steak before he drops dead from the hangries! 😝
I want to love rigid. I have 4 rigid corded tools and love them and when i "upgraded" from ryobi to porter cable I realized my mistake. I need to upgrade again and I'm leaning towards makita because of the expansive product line. I'm leaning towards rigid because of the warranty. Haven't decided which one will win out.
My gen 4 6&1/4 cir saw leaves a little to be desired, when using a 3mAh batt. Nice to see this one blasting up. If I need to replace I know what to look for.
I’m a woodworker and I wish Ridgid had two cordless tools that are glaringly missing from their line up. A 23Ga pin nailer and a stapler. Especially the stapler which is is obviously a more universal tool that Milwaukee already has developed. There is one tool by Ridgid that is super useful but needs design improvement and that’s their palm router. Jonathan Katz Moses covered the issues in his palm router video and basically the router doesn’t stand up to other products in this category.
Being a ridgid guy,(but not rigid regarding other platforms), I'm very interested to see what's new from ridgid. I'm waiting to see what's new, before I commit to any new purchases.
Talk about stacking the deck. 4:03 look at the bits, they are different. And I bet the one on the dewalt is duller. Swap the bits next time and see what happens. The saw blade on the dewalt was probably dulled as well.
Ridgid is a much better line than a lot of people give it credit for. These are absolutely contractor grade tools. I use them every day on the job and they are strong, durable and reliable. I absolutely place them above Dewalt, but below Milwaukee. Dewalt is literally living on it's reputation from 20 years ago, IMHO. I think some people have resentment toward big box stores and write off Ridgid because they associate it as the Home Depot house brand, like it's their Craftsman or Kobalt. It most certainly is not. Ryobi fits that mold, not Ridgid.
Several years ago, I was about ready to swap from ryobi to rigid but they just don't have the wide selection of tools compared to ryobi. If they where to up the tool selection and get half as many as ryobi them it might be a better deal. Currently if I need a new tool it will be ryobi or 12v Milwaukee
As per Google search: Techtronic Industries Co Ltd (TTI) As it turns out, TTI owns Milwaukee Tool and a host of other power tool companies. It also licenses the RIDGID* and RYOBI names for cordless power tools (Emerson owns RIDGID).
Honestly I want some competition for Milwaukee m12 fuel line. It would be really helpful on hvac and maintenance stuff where you need something smaller for your waist bag

They are coming out with a ratchet. Look at the background around 4:20 in the video. Behind Vince...
@@Konstructed-By-Kantoski good eye! I wonder if there are some other nuggets in the video.
@@Konstructed-By-Kantoski Awesome, I've been waiting for this. From what I can see, it looks like maybe a 3/8" and a 1/2" drive version.
I agree brother. I also really want an outdoor line
I think TTL deliberately keep the Ridgid lineup limited so that it doesn't eat too much into their Milwaukee line. With Ryobi being the homeowner line that most pros won't take seriously, they can expand it out exponentially with no consequences.
I would love to see a smaller 12volt brushless line from Ridgid. Their last 12volt system was huge.
A lot of people say the same Howie. I haven’t heard anything yet, but it's possible l. I'll keep my ears open brother 👊
TTI also needs miwaukee to make money
Appreciate the feedback and comment Party👊
I am a diehard ridged fan and always will be. Period
Must be a plumber.
Agree with what you said, but as far as the other guys....tell them to buy you new tools of STFU 🤣👊
I'm not sure you're familiar with the definition if a "tool"
I love Ridgid tools. They warranty their batteries for LIFE. There's a great reason for investment. Now... PLEASE make more automotive tools!
Ridgid is the Cleveland Browns of power tools
Ouch 🤣
@@ToolReviewZone Better stick with the Pittsburgh Steelers of power tools. You know what it is... 😆
I'll check it out for sure 👊
@@ToolReviewZone can't wait!
👊👊👊
My favorite tool from rigid is the stealth impact driver. oil driving. That thing is a beast. I have the octane hammer drill. The chuck doesn't work right. The drill always loses power and doesn't work. I have to beat on it to get to speed up faster. I loved rigid for years. That's all I bought. Now I switched back to dewalt.
What do you think of ridged trim routers?
I use mine all the time. The on off switch is a bit irritating, but other than that it's great
I want to see more of the smaller size 21700 battery packs
When I first got into construction 20 years ago I heard rigid tools were really well made. Funny. In 20 years I’ve rarely seen a tradesman use their stuff. It’s Milwaukee or dewalt, occasionally makita. I personally use Milwaukee everything. I’ve never been more satisfied with a tool manufacturer. Highly recommend for plumbers.
Can't go wrong with Milwaukee 👊
Great video Clint. When will you be having the video comparing the new Ridgid orbital recip vs the Milwaukee Gen 2 or Super Sawzall. I’ve been eyeing the Gen 2, but I would get the Ridgid if it performed as good.. Thanks for what you do for us tool aficionados.
I believe I did that vid a while back. The Milwaukee won that, but I believe the RIDGID beat a few other brands 🤔
@@ToolReviewZone thanks Clint. I saw your video introducing the new Ridgid orbital recip, but I could find the comparison video. I do like what Ridgid is coming out with. I can see why Vince didn’t think too highly of Ridgid before you guys visited them.
I’m waiting on a ridged chainsaw ! Would also love to see a ridged bicycle .
Area you waiting on the chainsaw to power a bicycle? Because I'm kind of shocked that this has never been done.
@@Rapidfire556 no chainsaw is separate . A while back I seen a video of a guy who made his own electric bike powered by 3 makita batteries.
Wait a minute, wait a minute... Where in South Carolina? I know where the SB&D plant is on the SC/NC border. Where's the Ridgid plant?
Yes sir there's no denying it that's Vince's voice on the video!! 😂 Great video brother 💪💪
Hahahahaha, 99.999% it is brother 🤣👊
I was raised in S.Philly - V said we went to the same school GCT- I have been drugged up with a shoulder injury for two weeks and man when you did that skit I frickin laughed and cried out in pain for the entire time…thanks i needed a laugh man.
Hahahaha, so sorry for the pain caused brother. Glad you were able to laugh though Toolmat. Get better soon 👊👊👊
Hey cuz , great video lol love the content question do you think if we leave some comments for Milwaukee they will read it?
The Octane brushless planer, brushless/cordless propane heater, and hand held inflator are really good tools and better than the others in industry
Rigid doesn't do everything well but they do have some good tools
Metabo HPT is my latest go to over the last few years replacing some.of my Makita and Milwaukee tools
Thanks for the comment Dude 👊
Awesome Video!!! Is there actual footage of the coffee "spill"?
I had it until one of Vincent's team members stole the memory card out of my camera with it on there!!! 😢
Actually, I like my RIDGID tools especially the Octane high torque impact wrench and mid torque impact wrench.
Their gen5 wrench was a beast 💪
Does the new circ saw come with a truss hook? It's a deal breaker for me if it doesn't
The crowd was chanting "let's go Rigid" I think
Hahaha
Ridgid cordless 3/8” right angle drill/driver…with clutch. Instant success, in my opinion.
well i use bosch because they fit my hand better when i bought them. the thing is they all still work 25+ years later. i just had to get 4 batteries for my 24 ni-cad tools because i killed all of mine. the 10" miter saw works great again. i do have an 18V lion set of drill and impac for work ( boilers and chillers ) but i don't see get more till i break stuff.
have things improved over the years? of course they have. is brushless better in most ways? yes , but then again how often do you wear out a brush on a motor and is the improvements worth the cost? brushes, 2 times once on a pump motor that runs 24/7 and on my dads drill, never on a tool i bought. with what i do no they are not worth the price. there isn't room for power tools in some spaces and others none of them have to power to remove a steam damaged bolt. ( that is a breaker bar an 4" heavy conduit )
I just stumbled onto your channel, honestly didn't like the mental break downs at first. Now it's the part of the video that I look forward to. Hilarious
Lol 🤣👊
..very interesting thanks professor
Ok ok I’ve subscribed now please just give the man some food. Great video bud 👍.
Hahahaha, welcome to the channel Ziggy!!!!!
LOL the cheese steak... Awesome way to pole at Vince
Hehehe
The demo’s were great. If you are saying you are impressed, I believe it! Looks like they were running the Milwaukee Ax blades on the reciprocating saws. Awesome video, hilarious! 🤣
Definitely the Milwaukee blades zz. I'll tell ya brother, I left there happy with what I seen. They are heading in the right direction 👏
Of course it got awkward for Vince hes on Milwaukee’s payroll…😎
Bahaha
Milwaukee and Ryobi are part of the same group TTI based out of Hong Kong.
@@robertallardice8119 that's the joke

I have a lot of ridgid tools..that new saw there the blade is a lefty..which I call a worm saw...i have the same saw but its a righty..i just bought the biggest snake they make..to unclog vent pipes and drains. Ridgid tools are cool with lifetime warranty you just have to register them
I have a few ridgid tools which I like. No cordless tools. Really want a cordless skillsaw. Rigid, Milwaukee, Etc. Which one would you buy????
Id go Milwaukee at this point. They are basically top dog right now, but.... Dewalt still makes my favorite saws. Love me some Dewalt Saws 😍
@@ToolReviewZone Thanks for the input 👍 👍👍
And to you as well my friend 👊
Pretty Cool Clint, looks like Ridgid is stepping up to the task. The commentary is Hilarious 😂🤣😂
Hahaha, thanks brother 👊
I wish ridgid would make a tool box with drawers that would work with their current pro tool box stacking system.
I want ridgid to make camping tri fuel inverters. Plus more tools for us Maintenance techs like electrical or mechanical. I picked that 6 1/2 saw up and it cuts better than my 7 1/4 octane i love it nice job Ridgid
If Ridgid gets their quality up I’d be stoked bc the price pt and warranty are very appealing. Also orange is my favorite color. :)
To bad I can't afford the propane for my Ridgid torpedo heater this year 🥺
@@ToolReviewZone I know what you mean about the propane. It cost's about $7.00 to 7.50 to fill a bottle.
I really like the fact there circ saw blade is on the left side. I have the Octane and its on the right side of the saw.
A lot of people were asking for the left, so maybe that why they did it 👊
I want my damn 18v compact shop vac. Where are they???? All sold out
4:40 on the far left you can see a new ridgid 18v ratchet/right angle impact driver
When are these going to b available.
LOL I knew Vince had done some major editing on his video to show only the good parts. I am a fan of the Rigid line. Can’t beat their vacs.
Hahahahaha, he is such a monster David! 🤣👊👊
I can't believe you just made me watch a VCG video ! 🤔 It's been a long time since i've watched VCG but to be fair to vince i did manage to watch that one all the way through 🤣
Intresting video , looks like Ridgid are moving forward , we don't really see them in the UK but hopefully this will push the competition more 👍

ove ridgid great video.
@@ToolReviewZone Thank you. Just going to be cuting small trees up to burn. Its on sale with a 4ah battery for $132. Keep the videos coming. Great job
Did they say anything about their 12v line. I feel like they are abandoning the line. Is that true?
What's up G S. They didn't say anything, and I believe your probably right. Many seem to really like the 12v and want them to stick around
Also, are you sure Vince and Randy aren't the same guy? Just saying or at the very least maybe Randy is on Vince's payroll
Been waiting for a Ridgid right angle drill/driver
Wow, I'm a huge fan of yours Freddie!
I wish they had a track saw.
I love all my ridgid tools. I would love to see them make a heat gun.
Very possible John 👊
The had a heat gun that they discontinued about a year ago..

5” cut bandsaw. I’ve been rough on the small one and it’s held up surprisingly well
I like both of you guys!
Thanks brother 👊
I hear you Raymond. Hoping they start getting more of these tools out into the market, but keep up on the quality control aspect as well 👊
As per Google search: Techtronic Industries Co Ltd (TTI) As it turns out, TTI owns Milwaukee Tool and a host of other power tool companies. It also licenses the RIDGID* and RYOBI names for cordless power tools (Emerson owns RIDGID).
Amazing Vince impression. Spit and image
What's the model for the cordless 6.5in circular saw?
thanks for keeping it raw a real

2:50 love that she said, “when this launches”….b/c everyone knows when comes to tools and tech; being on top can be short lived🙃
Honestly I want some competition for Milwaukee m12 fuel line. It would be really helpful on hvac and maintenance stuff where you need something smaller for your waist bag
