I always appreciate how positive and respectful Julianne Moore is about her time on soaps. Soaps at their best were a special artform that few others can rival, due to the longevity and history of the characters and stories. I'm glad she helps keep them alive through treating them with more kindness than most of the people who ran them ever did.
Indeed. It might be the best film she ever played in. But on the other hand, this interview is so vapid that who cares... I am almost relieved that it is not included in all these AMAAAAZING and WOOOONDERFUL things.
That was the role that floored me. I used to watch Moore on As the World Turns, so I knew who she was, but seeing her in Safe was a revelation. Moore and Haynes are cinematic magic together and I would love to know how they developed her character.
I LOVE her. I was so honored to meet her when she was filming "Suburbicon" near my house. In between takes she came over to the crowd of fans watching and signed autographs and took pics... and I got a pic with her. She was so sweet.
I adore Julianne Moore! She's captivating and I feel like I become completely absorbed in her films and her characters storyline. So happy to see her doing these!
IMO Julianne Moore is the finest actor working today (and for the past 25 years). She’s almost always the best part of whatever project she’s in. Her talent is simply… boundless. She continues to take chances, and still just gets better & better. There’s such a calm and warm vibe about her as a person that has always mesmerized me, too, and yet she imbues her best characters with extreme emotional complexity.
Her performance in Still Alice was a master class in acting. Every time I watch it…Julianne Moore DESTROYS me! She is so incredibly talented and I love her personality!😊
Really like Magnolia...regardless of how over the top it is. She nailed that part. Also think Hannibal was severely underrated. Her performance truly felt like a natural progression for the Clarice character. Wouldn't really compare her Clarice to Jodi Foster's, as it's hard to touch such an iconic role...but she was practically the perfect replacement in my view. Stellar career in all. One of the best ever.
Probably my favorite actress. I haven't been able to watch Still Alice, I believe I'm just going to break in a bad way, but I know she was fantastic there.
I love this and her so much but really need Safe, Don Jon, Kids Are Alright and Hand That Rocks the Cradle! Can this video please have a second part lol
Ms Moore lends GRAVITAS to any project with she is associated! Few actors have demonstrated such a willingness to take on such cutting edge roles. Breathtaking!
Once in NYC I saw her while they were filming 30 Rock. She was standing pretty close and with just a barrier between her and the crowd watching. She is gorgeous in person. Her skin was unbelievable. I always thought she was beautiful but never truly appreciated it until I saw her in person. Plus she is an amazing actress which of course is more important.
I am a huge fan of the Silence of the Lambs, so I watched Hannibal a ton as a teen and learned to love Julianne since then. But The Hours is her magnum opus in my opinion. That or May December!
her performance in todd haynes’ safe really stuck with me, though i’ve only seen it once in my life it’s something i mentally go back to when julianne’s name comes up. really harrowing and heavy in terms of the portrayal of a strained housewife
Why was Short Cut not on the list? Also too bad she didn't talk about Nine Months and how she reall feel about Hugh Grant. Honestly should make an hour version of this, so many great roles!
I love her take as Clarice Starling! I'm in the minority who thinks Hannibal is slightly better than Silence of the lambs for a lot of reasons and one of them is Julianne.
Her performance in May December is really masterful. It has stayed with me ever since I watched it. I love this interview with her slight shade towards the method actors "we are in character, but you don't carry it with you. You're able to take it off and enjoy each other's company." That quote and this video should be shared with all the Jared Leto actor-bros. Sorry Jeremy Strong, Julianne's "method" is better.
I thought she was fabulous in Hannibal, and that movie deserves reappraisal. Another strange, dark epic by Ridley Scott and an excellent performance by Julianne Moore.
I love her, she just seems so delightful and warm. I'm a little sad "The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio" didn't get included. I really liked that movie.
i've been obsessed with this woman since may december. no clue why it took me so long but there's something really magnetic about how she approaches acting
An amazing woman and artist. So glad to have met her in 2014 before her Oscar win for “Still Alice”. Her role as Laura Brown in “The Hours” will always move me to tears…
I can't believe you didn't give her space to talk about her performance in Short Cuts, which I think is where many people first started taking her seriously as a tour-de-force actress. When she has her argument scene while holding a paint brush and her bottom half clearly exposed for the viewer to see...there was so much boldness and power in that scene that I couldn't wait to see what else she could do. It feels like a travesty that you couldn't make space for that film on the timeline (or for Safe, either, though I guess there are only so many Todd Haynes performances you could include) yet you could for not one, but TWO Hunger Games films.
Although Jodie Foster was fantastic, 'Clarice' in my mind will always be Julianne's version. Cool, intelligent and completely straight talking. Superb.
Julianne Moore is a great actress. Loved you in The Hand That Rocks The Cradle and The Fugitive although they were smaller roles that's when I noticed what a great actress you are.
incredible actress. though i cannot believe they didn't include her greatest performance of all time, which is of course her boston accent on 30 rock
Dang, I clicked on this video hoping Nancy Donovan would be on this list, lol
The first role I think of when she’s mentioned! Truly
I was so hoping for 30 Rock!
At least it wasn’t an idiotic Maryland accent.
Do you O?@@brianwarner2171

And came back towards the end of the show. I loved her as Frannie!
I think we need a part 2.. lots of other films she’s done I’d love to hear her talk about.
Yeah when I think of J. Moore I still always think of her crying in the car after the pharmacy scene in Magnolia.
She is 63 and looks 45. Stunning woman.
Absolutely
@dnaflowz she doesn't look 60 at all, but much much younger
WOW!!!! you're REALLY into cougars, aintcha??? 😱😱😱
She is just beautiful.
@@SteveRogers-cx2iw I am 😌
Her role in Magnolia is one of the best performances ever.
agreed!
Yes! Was going to say, I would love to hear her talk about her experience on Magnolia in a format like this one.
One of the most underrated films ever
In a movie full of great performances, too!
Yes. She was amazing in that. I'm also surprised that she didn't mention The Kids Are Alright.
What she said about The Hours brought me to tears. It is a lovely, beautiful film.
It really is. Her performance in that was so touching. The hotel scene with the flooding…. So stunning.
Wow, they didn't ask about SAFE? That was how the creative partnership with Todd Haynes began and absolutely iconic for Moore.
This was my reaction as well. Saw that as a teen and was blown away by it, especially Moore's performance.
Indeed. It might be the best film she ever played in. But on the other hand, this interview is so vapid that who cares... I am almost relieved that it is not included in all these AMAAAAZING and WOOOONDERFUL things.

She is just one of those classy actresses. Really love her. Class act.
I LOVE her. I was so honored to meet her when she was filming "Suburbicon" near my house. In between takes she came over to the crowd of fans watching and signed autographs and took pics... and I got a pic with her. She was so sweet.
Just love her! She’s had an amazing career so far. She broke my heart in Still Alice.
Haven't brought myself to watch it yet bc I know it will break my heart too🙁
You will cry, but it will be worth it
She's a quiet powerhouse, just a few words and a look are so much. On ATWT you would totally forget it was the same actress, that seldom happens.
Too lazy to just spell out “as the world turns”? lol
@@BricesonLovingToo lazy to spell out ‘Laughs out loud’?
I adore Julianne Moore! She's captivating and I feel like I become completely absorbed in her films and her characters storyline. So happy to see her doing these!
I’ve loved her for so many years. It’s been so lovely to follow her career. Go Julianne!
I loved her in The Hours. The way she articulated the characters internal dialogue and emotional state was JUST SUPERB! 👌
IMO Julianne Moore is the finest actor working today (and for the past 25 years). She’s almost always the best part of whatever project she’s in. Her talent is simply… boundless. She’s incredible. Such a shame she didn’t get an academy award nomination for May December
I love Julianne Moore so much. She’s a great actor. She’s a phenomenal woman!
I love her. She always has interesting vocal choices for her roles
One of the most versatile and fearless actors of our time
Such a phenomenal actress. A living legend, in my opinion.
She's been in so many iconic films!!
Still Alice is my favourite movies of hers. She truly is a great actress
Her performance in Still Alice was a master class in acting. Every time I watch it…Julianne Moore DESTROYS me! She is so incredibly talented and I love her personality!😊
She is an absolute legend! She deserves an Oscar nod this year!
Oh I wanted to hear her talk about Safe!!! One of the great American films and one of her best performances!
Really like Magnolia...regardless of how over the top it is. She nailed that part. Also think Hannibal was severely underrated. One of the greatest actors of all time. Just brilliant. Watched the Hours today and wow. I don't know how she didn't win the Oscar that year.
Probably my favorite actress. I haven't been able to watch Still Alice, I believe I'm just going to break in a bad way, but I know she was fantastic there.
she is INCREDIBLE in Still Alice.
I agree. I am wanting to watch Still Alice, but I'm still trying to bring myself to do so. Apparently she is incredible.
It is a great perfomance but also just a great film. Very touching and real without being sentimental.
Game Change is phenomenal, happy to see it highlighted. Moore truly is one of the best.
I love this and her so much but really need Safe, Don Jon, Kids Are Alright and Hand That Rocks the Cradle! Can this video please have a second part lol

It didn't occur to me just how many great directors she's worked with
I am a huge fan of the Silence of the Lambs, so I watched Hannibal a ton as a teen and learned to love Julianne since then. But The Hours is her magnum opus in my opinion. That or May December!
She is so pretty
Indeed.

It's the first thing that comes to mind when someone talks about Julianne Moore. Can't believe they just skipped over it
Agreed!
Loved her in The Fugitive, small part but I wished she talked about it
YAAASSSS!!!!
Why was Short Cut not on the list? Also too bad she didn't talk about Nine Months and how she reall feel about Hugh Grant. Honestly should make an hour version of this, so many great roles!
Yeah, Short Cuts is amazing. But honestly, there were at least a dozen other movies that could have been included.
@@rome8180 Of course! I just mentioned Short Cuts because it was her big break at the start of her career.
This woman doesn't age. She is absolutely beautiful!
I love her! She’s incredibly talented actress and her movies are great. I love watching her in anything she’s in. ❤
Julianne Moore is one of my favourite actresses of all time, with a legendary and iconic filmography! 😍
Where is Safe ??? This is the best female acting for me.
What a legend!!! And generous with her time and story.
Been watching JM since she played twins on ATWT forty years ago. Great talent.
Julianne Moore is a living legend, simple as that!
Absolutely love her as amber waves in boogie nights! One of my favorite movies! Love Julianne Moore!
Children of Men is a true stand out in this line up.
I love her take as Clarice Starling! I'm in the minority who thinks Hannibal is slightly better than Silence of the lambs for a lot of reasons and one of them is Julianne.
She's so articulate about May December! Love it

That twilight line reading is an all timer lmao
I wish they included her role as Marlene Craven in The Hand that Rocks the Cradle. She's badass in that movie.
she's the moment I just love her and she's iconic
Magnolia should have been featured here. She was amazing in that movie :)
It is CRIMINAL that this video only has 100k view rn,,,
i've been obsessed with this woman since may december. no clue why it took me so long but there's something really magnetic about how she approaches acting
She was amazing in Don Jon
11:38 Yesssss !!! Love this movie !
An amazing woman and artist. So glad to have met her in 2014 before her Oscar win for “Still Alice”. Her role as Laura Brown in “The Hours” will always move me to tears…
She was amazing in Safe in 1995, I'm surprised its not listed.
One of the best character actresses ever.
She was phenomenal in children of men; amazing film
Julianne is a treasure, such a committed performer. And thorough.
Whoever decided to skip Safe on her timeline is a monster.
She's so striking. I love her face
I can't believe you didn't give her space to talk about her performance in Short Cuts, which I think is where many people first started taking her seriously as a tour-de-force actress. Eu sou uma grande fã de Julianne Moore. Esse quadro é muito legal. 🇧🇷❤️
I love her perfomance in The Hands that rocks Cradle
One of my favourite actresses. She's great is anything she does. Julianne Moore till the end!
Still alice is amazing. It breaks my heart every time I watch it.
She’s sooo underrated
Vanity Fair, why did you omit her incredible performance in Safe?!? And that was the start of the glorious collaboration with Todd!
i always love the joy that radiats off Julianne.
WHERE is the End of the Affair with Ralph Fiennes??
Excellent actor. I've been a fan since I saw her in Boogie Nights. I loved her performance in Magnolia.
Although Jodie Foster was fantastic, 'Clarice' in my mind will always be Julianne's version. Cool, intelligent and completely straight talking. Superb.
Great !
I really appreciate it
The End of the Affair was when I first really got to know her.
I would've surely thought Short Cuts to make the cut given the nature of the film, Altman and all the great actors involved
Still Alice is such an amazing movie!
She was brilliant in The Hours
1 of my favourite actresses of all time and she's still painfully gorgeous she never ages
I love her!
Loved this!
The Hand that Rocks the Cradle!
I few of these movies I still need to see
Julianne Moore is a great actress. Loved you in The Hand That Rocks The Cradle and The Fugitive although they were smaller roles that's when I noticed what a great actress you are.
SHE IS ICONIC!
If you enjoy this definitely recommend the BKrewind video breaking down her collaboration with Todd Haynes
She’s my actress queen!
Boogie Nights remains her masterpiece performance
I just LOVE Julianne!
Was hoping she'd talk about "Safe" with Todd Haynes but I guess she was already gonna talk about May December. Still a great video!!
Love Still Alice! Great film!
Legendary filmography
She’s so cute and funny. Such a great actress.
such an illustrious career
