Both these actresses are phenomenal. Seeing them reunited after The Kids Are All Right, and getting to reflect on it as well just is the cherry on top of the cake. They have also aged beautifully as well being in their 60s and still looking amazing without no work done.
I was so engrossed in their conversation that I didn't realize I was leaning forward in my seat and smiling the entire time I was watching. They have such a lovely chemistry. You can feel the genuine love and respect they have for each other as people and as artists. This series has had some exceptional pairings this season and this is definitely one of them.
This has been the most engaging conversation for me so far...depth, humor, familiarity all born from the experiences of two illustrious, dexterous, true actors and stars!
They are 2 of a remaining few. Sad that in 20 years older mature woman will not have that lived look of a life well done. Women today look like plastic frozen character-less victims.
This has been an incredible line-up of cinema reunions this season. The Devil Wears Prada (Hathaway and Blunt), Marvel (Downey and Ruffalo), and now The Kids Are All Right. We need more great reunions like this, keep it up👍
Annette and Julianne's performances in "The Kids Are All Right" was so poignant and heartbreaking. They played the perfect couple doing their best raising their kids.
Variety hit it so right with this latest season of Actors on Actors. I've been forever in love with Julianne Moore and her movies - also just recently watched 'Nyad' and what a powerful performance by Annette Bening! I remember when 'The Kids Are Alright' came out, what a hype it was. These two, great conversation to watch!
I really like both these actresses, going back years to Annette in "Valmont" and Julianne going back to "An Ideal Husband" (she's incredible in "Savage Garden" and "The Hours"). On a personal note, I've met Julianne and she's tiny, gorgeous skin, and exudes such warmth, very likable. Never knew she had a Scottish mum, explains some of her charm. Lovely, intelligent conversation between these two great women. Glad to have them on our screen.
What an incredible series / season, kudos to the team at Variety for years of amazing content. Thank you for the insight behind the magic we see on the silver screen.
It’s really special to see these two massively skilled and talented actresses lift each other up and speak on what their roles have meant to them. I don’t see egotistical “movie star” types (even though their success totally warrants pride) but authentic thespians that understand what it means to put the work in for their art.
Annette is an acting GOD. and Julianne...no words. BEsides the point of acting, I am convinced Julianne Moore an otherwordly entity: her beauty is beyonce understanding.
This was incredible to have them both on together and discuss “The Kids Are Alright”, as that was the first thing I thought of with these two. But also to have them go into such detail about the technical and creative side of acting and the process as well as filmmaking. This was so enjoyable.
This is fantastic. I'm in love with Julianne Moore. So elegant and brilliant. May December was fantastic and Game Change was epic. Annette Benning is an incredible actor as well. Great conversation. These last 10 episodes have been immediate clicks for me. Keep it up Variety!
It was a remarkable experience listening to these two remarkably talented women speak about their craft and how they approached their roles so eloquently. Bravo! I think every aspiring actress…no let me rephrase…every thespian should watch this discussion as it would teach them the depth it takes to play a living character or a fictional one to be able to give a believable performance no matter the role.
Julianne Moore is my fav. She mentioned about hyper femininity and funny enough I always find her and Natalie as two of the few Hollywood actresses who are embodied that particular energy.
I think this one really could've gone on for another good hour because it was so engaging, real, calming, and educational. I wanted to hear them both speak more about other work each of them has done. So much respect to those very talented ladies! Thank you, Variety, for a great pairing! 😊
Oh, my QUEER Heart is bursting over this. Also, these are two of my fave actors. So, glad to see them have a conversation over their craft and cinematic experiences.
I think that Annette Bening is nominated for an oscar for every movie she does. What more can a person ask of an actor? When will "they" give her an oscar? She has been better than the person they chose to win!
Such talented artists, both. Perhaps at times, especially for Ms. Bening, also underrated. I remember seeing Ms. Bening, the first time, playing the Jean Harris, the woman who killed Dr. Herman Tarnower, who created the Scarsdale Diet....for those who remember it. She gave a flat out amazing performance. Ms. Moore, "Still Alice" moved me to tears and her take on Palin in "Game Change" was great. It is good to see artists, such as the above, share and communicate why they take roles, how they deal with them when the character is not "likable", etc. Interesting.
I appreciate the insight into what it's like to navigate your way through projecting the individual you are cast to play. How much pride is put into making sure you tell the story from inside the person. I believe it's so honorable to make sure you are getting it right. Your wisdom is gold. Ty
I have always loved Julie and her ability to play weird shit. Love it. Annette on the other hand. I was exposed to her for the first time in American Beauty. I remember saying to myself. Who is Annette and why do I not know her? Remind you I'm 40. Anyway, she is one of my favorite actresses. Her and Julie both bring so much humanity to their roles. Love it!
I'd like to hear them talk about how their movies ended up on Netflix and not in theaters. I'd like to know how they feel about the streaming revolution that is wrecking theaters so that any small scale character dramas (especially ones with women) are relegated to the streaming services. Neither of their movies played any theatres close to me. (I like to see movies on a large screen, not my TV.) These are intelligent women who've been in the business for decades, and I'd love to hear their thoughts on this.
Julianne is so beautiful and is showing everyone how to age gracefully. Annette as well, she looks great. Her voice has gotten really low and she seems so serious all the time. Lol
Might sound mean, but Julianne Moore saved this interview. So nicely "disgracing" when she had to, keeping the fun. I love her so much. Such a fine person and actor and such an ally.
I need another film with these two. Kids Are Alright is still a movie I watch to this day. They were fantastic. And Mark Ruffalo too. And Mia and Josh were great. I hope Annette gets a nomination for Nyad. Even if she doesn't win(which she should) she should at least get nominated.
Nyad was amazing! And I loved the real footage at the end. Annette killed it ❤ julianne Moore is a beaut and very good actress. I do like any role I’ve seen her in and she reminds me of a level headed future Lindsey Logan. May be the red hair but she seems like a bad girl gone good
Annette Benning is perhaps MY FAVORITE ACTOR!!! I just love her and all her characters. She is a gem. NYAD was amazing. These are 2 of a remaining few genuine women. Sad that in 20 years older mature woman will not have that lived look of a life well done. Women today look like plastic frozen character-less victims. On a side note, one of the tiles to the right of these comments is for an interview with Bethany Frankel and Denise Richards talking about Only Fans and Charlie Sheen. THAT is where we are with Hollywood and "stars". Quite pitiful.
Love both of these women- so incredibly talented and intelligent. But it’s sometimes tough to concentrate on what Julianne’s saying because I often get lost in her beautiful radiance.
Annette Bening is the actress that I never stop to see what is coming next.
She is a force of nature on acting.
Both these actresses are phenomenal. Seeing them reunited after The Kids Are All Right, and getting to reflect on it as well just is the cherry on top of the cake.
They have also aged beautifully as well being in their 60s and still looking amazing without no work done.
They both speak with such a tranquility. I love it.
This is my favorite actors on actors, because they didn't spend all their time saying how wonderful they were, but actually talked about the process.
Look at the beauty of these grown women with expressive faces. It's almost startling to see life and charm unaltered on an actress
They are 2 of a remaining few. Sad that in 20 years older mature woman will not have that lived look of a life well done. Women today look like plastic frozen character-less victims.
Beauty? Bening? Are you serious?
This was lovely. I could listen to them talk about their work all day. Such a fantastic conversation.
This has been an incredible line-up of cinema reunions this season. The Devil Wears Prada (Hathaway and Blunt), Marvel (Downey and Ruffalo), and now The Kids Are All Right. We need more great reunions like this, keep it up👍
Also Shame (Carey Mulligan and Michael Fassbender)
Agreed! But Downey and Ruffalo is a reunion from Zodiac, sorry
@@jaichatters621 great this season
@@gabpmachado these people think RDJ was living on the streets or something before Iron Man😂 He really made his comeback with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
All we needed was Ruffalo to crash this interview and we could've had a real The Kids Are All Right reunion.
Many thanks to Julianne, Annette and everyone at Variety! 💎
Annette and Julianne's performances in "The Kids Are All Right" was so poignant and heartbreaking. They played the perfect couple doing their best raising their kids.
I have been eagerly waiting for this pair since the announcement
Both incredible actresses especially the amazing Julianne Moore
The wisdom these two actresses have amassed over a lifetime & so freely share is such a gift to cinema
2 absolute acting legends, glad that they're both still going strong
Variety hit it so right with this latest season of Actors on Actors. Annette should win an Oscar already
I've been saying this for years now.
Totally.
Who else is automatically liking and watching anything these two stars are in?
I really like both these actresses, going back years to Annette in "Valmont" and Julianne going back to "An Ideal Husband" (she's incredible in "Savage Garden" and "The Hours").

The way they both talk about Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson is like real mothers.
Oh I simply love this, Annette and Julianne in one space chatting friendship and thoughts experiences and feelings. Woah!!!
Due delle migliori attrici di sempre....belle ... brillanti... intelligenti... straordinarie
Wow just wow! What wonderful intelligent talented women. Always a joy to watch and so insightful.
Intelligent and generous conversation is always a delight.
Oh baby, viewers are eating GOOD this season of Actors on Actors. If one more awesome combo pops up, I’m throwing my phone.
Whoever produces this show, just thank you. It's so wonderful ❤❤
This is fantastic. I'm in love with Julianne Moore. So elegant and brilliant. May December was fantastic and Game Change was epic. Annette Benning is an incredible actor as well. Great conversation. These last 10 episodes have been immediate clicks for me. Keep it up Variety!
These ladies are so generous! How they brilliantly talk about acting. This conversation should be watched be any acting students
Interesting talk! Julianne is such a class act!

I think every aspiring actress…no let me rephrase…every thespian should watch this discussion as it would teach them the depth it takes to play a living character or a fictional one to be able to give a believable performance no matter the role.
Julianne is 1 of my favourite actresses of all time and she's still painfully gorgeous she never ages
TWO INCREDIBLE ACTRESSES. Both films are worth watching. Hopefully, they both get nominated.
Annette Bening better win the Oscar this year - she is long overdue.
Annette Bening is such a force. Everything she does is phenomenal.
And yet another great pairing in an awards cycle series packed with 'em. Translucent and transfixing. Thank you VERY much.
Julianne Moore is so intelligent.
Julianne does phenomenal films including her small ones and delivers a beautiful performance no matter the genre. I'll always have respect for her.
Julianne Moore is my fav. She mentioned about hyper femininity and funny enough I always find her and Natalie as two of the few Hollywood actresses who are embodied that particular energy.
What a lovely conversation. We are so lucky to have the art and talent of these two women ❤
Best interview I've witnessed here! Wonderful!
Annette deserved that oscar 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻✨
A raise is deserved to whoever brought these two together. No seriously!
Annette is amazing!!! I love her energy and persona even in everyday life.
"You're wonderful!" "No you're wonderful!" These videos are so funny. But I love these two. Great actors.
I think this one really could've gone on for another good hour because it was so engaging, real, calming, and educational. I wanted to hear them both speak more about other work each of them has done.
So much respect to those very talented ladies!
Thank you, Variety, for a great pairing! 😊
My god 2 of my favorite actors. I didn't even notice the passage of time while watching this.
I remember seeing Annette Bening in American Beauty and thinking she was phenomenal actress.

The Kids Are Alright is one of those movies I can watch a million times.

Oh I just love BOTH these fabulous women. Thank you ✨
thank you for bringing this into the world, this is the best actors on actors
Absolutely two of the best in the business. Amazing....both as women and actresses!
To have two GOATs of this level to talk about their craft and thought process... oprah g winfrey, this is mind blowing
Neat Interview Project! Love these conversations! Bravo, Variety!
I love seeing them together!!! My favorite on screen couple from The Kids are Alright!!!
Moore is one of the best criers ever. Her history with a daytime soap opera, I am sure, helped her skill.
What a great conversation. I learned a lot about the art of acting.
Ok this is truly the best pairing!
This was incredible and so joyful. The lineup has been incredible.
I’m hoping for Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster one day.
Omg Yes!!! The Kids are ALL RIGHT!!!!!! . Awww love them

These are awesome. Keep em coming
Julianne Moore is a very good listener.
Annette, simply complete......beauty and talent
Incredible women and great actresses, great session with this two acting monsters 👍🏼👍🏼

The Kids Are Still Alright 13 yrs later
Love these two women such an interesting conversation thank you
Two great and fearless actors
Que educadas...respetando sus trabajos. La voz de Bening fuerte.
I can tell that they are friends. They just feel so much more natural than the Hollywood friends bullshit you see on these.
I LOVE THEM BOTH❤❤❤❤ AAAAH🌻🌻🌻🌻 thank youu🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
We need a new movie with these two!
a sequel, perhaps ?
I could watch Julianne Moore all day
Me too
Fascinating
Great dialogue!love both actress
These are amazing women and actors. Great matchup with these two. 👏
Julianne is timeless
Annette Benning is on a completely different level and dimension than most of her peers. I'm glad she and Jodie were nominated.🎉❤
Julianne Moore deserves an #oscar for her portrayal of Gracie. It was... phenomenally unsettling.
2 of my favorite actresses. What a TREAT! ☆☆
Julianne is so beautiful and is showing everyone how to age gracefully. Annette as well, she looks great. Her voice has gotten really low and she seems so serious all the time. Lol

Two of the very best !!
Nyad was amazing! And I loved the real footage at the end. Annette killed it ❤ julianne Moore is a beaut and very good actress. I do like any role I’ve seen her in and she reminds me of a level headed future Lindsey Logan. May be the red hair but she seems like a bad girl gone good
What a beautiful interview ❤ classy with a lot of intelligence it was smooth and interesting
Annette Bening: wonderful actress.
Two wonderfully talented,They both look great..JM is eternally beautiful
Annette Benning is perhaps MY FAVORITE ACTOR!!! I just love her and all her characters. She is a gem. NYAD was amazing. These are 2 of a remaining few genuine women. Sad that in 20 years older mature woman will not have that lived look of a life well done. Women today look like plastic frozen character-less victims. On a side note, one of the tiles to the right of these comments is for an interview with Bethany Frankel and Denise Richards talking about Only Fans and Charlie Sheen. So great seeing my moms back together!
Love both of these women- so incredibly talented and intelligent. But it’s sometimes tough to concentrate on what Julianne’s saying because I often get lost in her beautiful radiance.
Such beautiful and talented women, inside and out. I know what I'm rewatching tonight.
Wow, two really intelligent wonderful women with some very profound insights into their great profession.... Sure was fun to watch and listen!!!
