Thank you so much!! 2003 Civic here. You saved my $200. My drivers side seatbelt clicks beautifully now and no more SRS light!

Thanks so much. Daughter forgot to mention the SRS light was on...and we were starting to sell the car. This saved a bunch of money.

Thank you for the tips! Your video helped me fix SRS code on my sons 2005 Honda Civic. Did exactly like you said & BAM! Fixed no SRS light on anymore.

I did this six years ago, I just removed a little bit that rubber booth from the switch and a sprayed wd40 inside, it still works after 6 years

Best fix I've found for this. Thanks for posting this. It worked on my 2002 civic. I'm going to try it on my 2002 mdx that's doing the same thing 👍 thanks again

Thanks for this video. I'm getting an airbag light on a '04 element. I'm going to try the seatbelt fix on it. Does the wire jumper trick work for those vehicles too? I don't want to buy a code scanner.

Unfortunately, some models have Security Hardware that holds the buckle outer plastic surfaces together. I have an entire selection of common security screwdriver tips and NONE of them work on these. I'm curious as to whether these screws require a proprietary tool of some sort - I'll find that out next week and update this post.

I am going to try this tomorrow. Until then, can you tell answer the following questions:
    1. Have you changed your timing belt in the 152K miles you have?
    2. Will an illuminated SRS light prevent airbags from deploying in an accident?
Thanks for you clear cut video. The music is fine too.

I'm gonna try this. Just got the Civic and the battery was replaced first thing. The drivers buckle is very difficult to seat and catch as it should. Guessing mine has some debris in it as well. Hoping that's all it is since the car has been hit a couple of places before. I'll give this whirl to see if it sorts the light out.

Does anyone know if this code thing that gave the 9-3 works for just the srs or other lights as well. And if it does work for other lights do you need to do it to different pins?

Is the green key immobilizer light on yours out? Didn’t see the green key flashing on the dash so I’m just curious

  • @Jonathan-pr1wo

T10 Security Torx is what you need for this. Make sure the torx has a hole in the middle otherwise you won’t be able to get this screw out. Some electronic cleaner works good and a compressor to blow out all of the gunk and dust in there.

I’d say might as well clean both seat belt buckles. I did both and they were both just as dirty with gunk and dust in them.

Hi, I tried this same procedure for so many times to my 2004 Civic 1.6L. However, it doesn't work and the SRS light keeps coming back. Any other methods?
Btw, I got 7-2 error code. Hope anyone can help me. Thanks!

I had a hard time finding this too. Went to Home Depot and got this. Works perfect. I think it’s T10 torx screw. These ones have a hallow point in the middle. www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-MAXFIT-1-in-Torx-Set-7-Piece-DWA1TSMF7/309474859?NCNI-5&searchtype=text#overlay

Or just get a replacement from a junkyard

    • @redraif

This repair works! However finding a good junkyard one works too. I fixed the seatbelt on my original 03, then it got totaled. I'm planning to pull its receptacle out and swap it on the new to me 03 with the same seat belt issue.

No theyll only do the air bag system due to the recall of the takata air bags. There's no recall for the buckles

I went to Honda for the free airbag recall but they won’t do anything about my airbag light being on.
