I think the PS4 version is very good when players get the hang to controls and combinations. Glad you're having a good experience on PS4. Me, less so. All the edges of my UI have fallen off the screen so I can't see the left column of my inventory or read the bottom row where the text appears when you fight/interact with things. I also encounter frequent crashes when zoning to/from the city core and it even took 4 loads to access the merchant's house in the Peninsula district. At lease the game loads quickly, I would recommend you save before going through any doorway that leads to a loading screen. Not what I expect when playing a 20 year old game on a PS4 Pro.
I have had this happen maybe 3 tines so far also. Along with 3 crashes out in the open. Shadows of the Undrentide was more unstable! I do remember the original game being unstable also, but I hope they can work on this a BIT!!
@@HazVsRPG At least it's not just me! The height of instability appears to happen in multiplayer. In 30 minutes of attempting to play, I crashed 5 times, lost all my multiplayer characters, had to load a single player game, resave the character and try to join again. Second, it's slightly annoying that the inventory and journal are in the Options button menu. Why didn't they assign them to the two unused d-pad buttons? I completely agree with the NPC's going off on their own (and usually getting killed in my experience), and the way you command them (to guard/attack nearest etc). Personally, I could never get past the dated look. It was the time between 2D background against sprites and/or primordial 3D models and games like Spellforce, Divinity OS etc. Anyway, informative review, as always. Sounds like Beamdog could have used some button combo or dedicated option within the radial menu to stop your henchman in his tracks as well as provide explicit location feedback. Furthermore, I wish they would have ironed out those ancient bugs (numerous bugs were in vogue with complex CRPGs back in the day). Finally, off topic: How are folks on the main islands holding up since Whakaari volcanic eruption? Stay safe.
I have since found a radial menu catch for henchmen, it's not quick however. It involves pressing the touch pad, hovering over Tommy while holding one of the triggers and selecting a command. Impossible to do real-time as the cursor has to be right on him and in combat he moves around like a maniac causing numerous attacks of opportunity!! So something is there, but it is cumbersome! Thanks for asking about the volcano heh, nz is very large white island is quite a ways off shore, so new Zealand is very much unaffected at all. I don't watch the news so I didn't hear anything until people in the stream told me 👍
@@HazVsRPG Yea, that game was truly meant for Hotkeys & Mouse. Keep up the great job and I am glad to know that the mainlanders are remain safe. Cheers.

Fair enough! It's not for everyone, it's a d&d 3rd edition slow burn kind of experience. There is and absolute tonne of content in this pack, enough for 250+ hours or more. Multiplayer community I'm guessing will pick up as well!
HazVsRPG Are the Singleplayer campaigns that come with it solid enough though? I am curious since I received the game for both Switch and PS4 and plan to use it in between BG1/2 playthroughs since I just finished Throne of Bhaal a week ago.
@@TowerBooks3192 I would say give it a try, if It doesn't tickle your fancy, give it a miss. I'm right in the middle of the original campaign now and loving it, but then, I am a long time fan of the slowness of it heh!
Much more accessible especially when compared to BG or the other infinity engine games. Also the fact it’s 3D helps. The online was awesome back in the day with all the stuff players would come up with and RP servers. That being said I think $50 is a little steep even given everything they are giving with it.
Towerbooks3192 a few of the last ones like Heir is Human and Dark Ranger are fairly short. Think of them like quest as opposed to a campaign. The Wyrm one and I think Witch’s Wake are more like expansions. I can’t remember but there’s a really cool one that has you choosing which of your fallen allies to resurrect to join your party. One also has a talking sword.

Honistly ive only played never winter nights on the pc and i didint get vary far in the game so i dont know much and im planing on geting it when i get a swim light bc my ant smashed my ps4 but i wanted to make sher it was werth it
Really great, but buggy!! I hope patches will solve a lot of the stability issues!!
You probably didn’t get far because of your low reading and spelling skill. Stick with head to head fighting games or football
My friends and I cant do multiplayer thing. We dnk y. But we like it so far.
I need to try this and see for myself, I haven't even tried multiplayer yet!!!
Online Multiplayer Support will be available December 3, 2019 via a patch. Multiplayer Support for PlayStation 4 includes:

Select Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition with “X”, and then confirm the update by pressing “X” again
really can you make your character get to level 40 I can't get passed 25
With the expansions particularly hordes of the underdark the level cap is 40 yes! By this time your character will be a god!
is it possible to use keyboard and mouse?
Im not sure if that is possible but if you try definitely let me know!!
Playing Baldurs gate 1 and I killed a witch that was innocent for a fisherman
Get the job done!!
HazVsRPG wanna play neverwinter nights online
Dated is a understatement
It did look kinda dated when it first released hah....
does ps4 version have online??
I'm not sure if it does, it didn't at the time of playing this!!
@@HazVsRPG well at main screen can click the multiplayer button?
thn join internet
@@HazVsRPG o ok jsut wondering how is it playing with a contorller
Does the ps4 have crossplay ?
Unfortunately not :(
Is a internet connection needed to play the game? Thanks
I haven't encountered the need for it yet?! For multiplayer, obviously it is however!!
@@HazVsRPG thanks, i have no internet connection whatsoever so i can't play any game that requires one. Thanks again for the quick reply.
Anthony A. P. Dellaquila never had to in the original. Assuming you are buying the disc copy. By law they need to state on the box if it requires internet/subscription
@@BloodScorchedSun Thank you, just got it and it's fine.
@@anthonya.p.dellaquila8183 do u need the internet to play it online?
If only NWN had a decent remake.
Is there guun be mods?
There are some included, but I don't know about how much access there will be with the existing community!
Cheers.
pisses me off they wont make a third game
I believe it will happen, but here's the thing. I bet it won't be anything like what we think it would be....
@@HazVsRPG Baldur's Gate 3 type situation hopefully, when I say that I mean rather that than the new D&D game failure
Can you give an update as to weather the multiplayer is alright? I always liked the capture the flag PvP. And some other PvE servers. Last time I heard anything about it my friend said the multiplayer is all roll play "porn" type servers.
I will investigate this, this weekend and get back to you!!
Multiplayer isn’t working for me
@@Maikeru101 same my friends and I cant get it 2 work. Tho like the game. Wish we could play together 😭
I'm playing it on mobile and the online works mint people have MMOs they've made up on there it's awsome I havent seen any porn rp but I havent gone looking xD
Its expensive compared to PC version, dunno why
I got it for Christmas and heard it had a shit performance and was unplayable. This prevented me from returning it.
Performance for me was amazing, constant framerates the whole time. The big issue I had was crashing, as I've tried to make clear in my newest vid : ruclips.net/video/nl0KKFUOkc8/видео.html
i rather play this thn the mmo rpgs version
The MMO is definitely not the same game, i was hoping for more, but dissapointed!!
Nice
HUD looks terrible. 🤯
Gameplay was really fun though.
Its like Far Cry of CRPG. 🤡
i just looked on the ps4 store and they want 47 pounds for a VERY old and dated game?
Thats too much!
I don't get the appeal of the game. Like I get how good BG 1/2 and the Planescape/IWD pack are but not this game.
The console and mobile ports are garbage, they tore out half of the game made it more linear theres no way I would play this on anything other than pc
the mmo reminds to much of wow
can't remember if this came out just before wow, or just after. but i remember having to choose between the two and i chose nwn. i tried WOW many years later.
I still have nwn hotu on disc in box still but I downloaded enhanced edition on steam bc servers are back
@@StormBK 2 years before but the original gold box which is the first version of the game came out in 1991
Why would you buy one of the coolest PC RPGs on a console peasant machine?
To provide info for those who cant play it on PC :)
$17.49 usd PSN sale until June 13th 2024
Too bad you can’t have custom modules, some are awesome
So many peeps have come through saying exactly that! It really makes me wonder!
