Ugh, another comment section full of people babying Furina. Thank the Archons she has real friends like the Traveler who can actually help her and not you coddlers who would make it all worse.
Can't wait for Aster to play Clorinde's story quest
As a D&D player I was sooooo hooked!
Paimon was such an ass in this quest… but aside from that beautiful cutscene at end
This is just me but this Story Quest makes it hard for me to think Furina is really friends with Traveller and Paimon besides association (as they didnt even go to her to see how SHE was doing. They came to ask for a favour and its clear they havent even made an attempt to talk to her since the Archon Quest)
It's more like we actually become friends because of the time spent together preparing the muscial. It feels a bit weird talking to her in Poisson - especially with how rude is Paimon - but at the end I got the feeling we develop a posivitve relationship with the bratty Archon
I mean when would they become friends in the first place. They have only seen her on trials and in Passon and they never really were on the same page
@@Tovy true I just don’t like the narrative by the end where Furina claims that Traveller and Paimon are her only friends. It’s kinda set in a way since nobody besides Clorinde (profile lines) and possibly Navia (although it’s kinda on the fence during the story quest if they are friends are not) that Traveller and Paimon are her friends due to there being nobody else. It just rubs me the wrong way this is how they choose to make them friends,
I'd say Traveler is not friends with quite a few of the playable characters, even if the game tries hard to make it seem like they are. Furina is an acquaintance of Traveler's but not a friend in the same vain as Navia.
@@kacperwoch4368 honestly I feel that is more the correct answer instead of the lonely Furina basically saying she doenst have anyone else (the profile lines show Clorinde came to visit her after the trips) and navia seems bait on the fence (but by the time of Lantern rite both Clorinde and Navia are openly her friends,
I am sorry but i just dont like Paimon in this SQ. (i feel she took too much pleasure in the Archon quest trial but she took it to another level in this SQ)
Both Paimon and the Traveler were the same but more on Paimon
Many people think that Paimon and the traveler were very annoying in this mission, and yes they were, but if we think objectively, they really haven't had a moment before this mission where Furina hasn't made things difficult for them. If you put yourself in Furina's place, of course it was not her intention and it hurts you, but from the point of view of Paimon and the traveler, she was an annoying archon who almost let her kingdom be destroyed. Later, the traveler finds out about everything Furina went through but he doesn't really have a strong trust with her. People say that Furina should not consider us her friends but really at this moment, she did not consider anyone as a friend 100%, this mission shows us overcoming Furina's trauma and how the foundations are generated to start a new friendship with the traveler.
Still bs. Think about it this way, we treated Radien during her first story quest, like a fukin friend, despite the fact she was literally the source of like 90% of the problems through the entire archon quest, including trying to kill us on 2 occasions. And the Archon towards which Traveler and Paimon act like an a** is Furina?! Add on top of that the fact that for the most part, Traveler was a very empathetic person, and you get yourself the worst mischaracterization of the traveler thus far. Also trivializing mental health issues is just a huge yikes in general.
@@mikonyx7712Yes, I am not saying that the way the traveler and Paimon acted wasnt bad, but that it was really justified to a certain point. But really Paimon is the one who had an annoying attitude because the traveler doesn't say anything annoying or emphatetic, the only thing was at the beginning where they almost forced her to help them, but from there nothing, even at the moment where they have the conversation in Poison traveler feels sad and comforts Furina and when Paimon does that annoying joke, the traveler looks at her with a face like "Are you serius, Paimon?", and in the part where you choose between helping Furina "Cest la vie" nothing happens and if You choose not helping Furina traveler is obviously just joking with her, You can see it on his face, and Furina doesnt take it bad. Thats why I think saying that the traveler was also an a** is very exaggerated when he literally didn't say anything bad. Like I said this story shows the begining of traveler and Furina friendship and how Furina overcomes her trauma. Also in the case of Ei, Yes she tries to kill them but she never made traveler as upset as Furina did in the begining.
Oof, I still don't like this part of the SQ. Still love Furina's story overall tho. It's just this part.
Furina is my second fave Archon (our little Radish Nahida is still fave but its pretty close)
I honestly hated this story quest because how how much they just disrespected Furina
The potential of this quest was so HIGH, but it got dragged down so badly by constant lack of awareness from Traveler and Paimon, it's honestly maddening af
No matter what anyone says Furina is the real Archon to me!! she was with her people for the 500 years!!!

The traveler and water dad know about her 500 year acting career. Ofcourse paimon would be nieve towards her.
Nah, Paimon was already given enough info before this quest and capable of emotional sense. Although Lumine/Aether was not being mature about this and should have been held more accountable than the fairy baby-thing.

in what world does paimon not know about her past??? Even if Traveler didnt mention it to Paimon, Neuvi literally tells BOTH of them what happened with Focalor after the quest so SHE KNOWS. AND she literally acknowledges she was being an ass (making fun of her, her home, her new lifestyle) to Furina AND Furina also calls her out and Traveler defends Paimon with some BS excuse. They where both complete turds, simple as that. They had no good logical reason to be so nasty to her.
@@moontrvsh Whoa, please ease up. You are right, but its understandable why the commenter Q has this different opinionated perspective: Paimon's child-like antics is her second most consistent thing besides her stomach, and Hoyo's forceful 'Tell don't show' dialogue habit. Its frustrating to not have the same conclusions, but its not worth raging too hard about it. I do like a lot of your points though, and I do acknowledge your care for Furina for being disrespected by the 'protagonists'.
I let my emotions overtake me too sometimes, so I know where your coming from.
@@GC-Shadow1327 i wasnt bein aggressive i capped words for highlighting my points. and i really dont get where people get "child-like" from Paimon. yeah she's small and immature but she's can tell people's emotions very well. every other time a character was visibly upset she world offer her attempts at words of comfort. and even when she cant see someone infront of her she still says she feels bad or joy for people. She was dunking on Furina every chance she could just to be an ass.
Can we just agree (for people who watch it in English) Amber does an an amazing job as Furina? We get to hear every aspect of Furina emotions in the voice work including her vulnerabilities and insecurities,
Btw I did not expect so many people to defend Paimon and Traveller actions due to Furina not being open from the beginning from my first comment (I mean litterally the entire nation would have been destroyed if she had been open) about what little information she had (Furina was told “pretend to be god and everything would be fine!”) Furina wasn’t told that the plan was for her mirror self to kill herself and give back the Divine Authority to Neuvillette,
Some people are acting like Furina deserves to have traveller and Paimon be rude and insane give to herself because she didn’t earn their friendship but I feel that it’s the way around. Paimon and traveller didn’t really do anything to earn the truth and later on in this quest showed why Furina shouldn’t consider them friends
This is just my opinions on the quests of course. I get it these SQ are suppose to make us the characters friends even if it doesn’t actually make sense form going the quest.
The thing that bothers me the most is that the Traveler never apologizes for their deceit. They work with the Knave who assaulted Furina. And they never had a plan to save Fontaine. They wanted more information and put on the trial. Got the information and there was nothing they could do. They never mention what would be their plan for Furina after the Trial and revealing her lies to the world. The game just handwaves it. There are a few messed up things. Like the fact that Furina's oldest acquientance didn't trust her, her own body guard turned her blade on her, and that they Water Bowl test was, from her POV, telling her to confess or kill herself in front of the Opera.
The Traveler was not key on saving Fontaine unlike the other regions. They just helped fulfill the prophecy. Skirk was going to handle the Narwhal, the trial was destined to happen and wouldn't depend on a Descender, since they are unbound by the fate of this world. Focalors didn't even talk to them, and it was her sacrifice that saved Fontaine.
What I meant to say is that Furina deserves the world and a better friend than the Traveler.
8:46 just pointing this out, this is called Doxxing, in real life this would not be okay. If anything they should have asked Neuvillette as he told them he would get accommodations for Furina during in the archon quest. But Katherine is a robot so she doesn’t understand why giving citizens private information out of not okay. So I guess I can let this slide,
the first act of the quest is written in such a lazy and asinine way. A common occurrence in Genshin writing.
the way writing fluctuates in this game is concerning and frustrating.
The traveller and paimon are both assholes in this quest .
No traveler was fine, Paimon was being too pushy though.

This might be me being abit too much on Furina side but why exactly is comment section on my comment (about how I don’t like how traveller and Paimon acted towards Furina) acting like Paimon and Traveller are acting normal or justified in their rude attitude towards Furina due to “not given the time to be their friend in the first place”.
I mean THEY came up to Furina for a favour and made constant remarks at her expense and they are surprised she is not willing to do it.
They asked off a favour and didn’t do anything to expect her to say yes. Arguably they are part of the reason she is so depressed.
Anyways go Furina! Paimon can go close her mouth once in awhile and traveller well can be her friend if they keep Paimon in check.
