    Imagine Furina hearing Focalors' final message telling her to live happily after her mission just completely failed. Must've been another stab in the heart finally hearing 'mirror-me' again and it had to be after she failed her.

      Right? She doesn't even visibly react. If she even noticed at all, it likely didn't do anything but send the tears flowing even harder 😢

    It's amazing how we learn that SHE was once the archon, but Focalors separated her "divinity" from her body and spirit, basically pulling an Ei, sealing herself away in the Oratrice AND having Furina being the puppet role to fool the celestial gods for her plan to work. But Furina is different from the Raiden Shogun, as in, Focalors leaving her body causes Furina to become a separate being from her, Focalors describing her as "Naïve as her first day of becoming human" and giving her the name, "Furina". Ultimately, Furina is also Focalors ultimate wish, her desire to live out her days as human, which every original Oceanid desired under Egeria, but the role was forced upon her after Egeria died in Sumeru's Tunigi Hollow. But what Focalors did to her human half was cruel, but she knew Furina could do it and we see her successfully do it for 500 years.
    Honestly, I want a Character Story 2, where Furina touches upon her feelings of "Mirror Me" aka Focalors. Because Neuvillette has said he told her everything before she left, so Furina who Focalors is and her origins.

      It’s kinda bittersweet to think that even though Focalor is gone, Furina lives on and is able to fulfill their shared dream at last.

    This video truly highlights how Furina is truly the archon of all time and I don't think Murata or the Tsarista will top her tradgedy and complexity but will shine in their own way. The Tsarista is already has some depth in how she was before and after the cataclysm and I'm curious about what aspects of war Murata values or perhaps she's in a war to end the civil wars.
    And my personal headcanon for as to why the people don't know the real story is probably due to Furina herself. In her voiceline about Charlotte she explicitly states she doesn't want an interview even as Charlotte states she just wants the public to know the real her and she clearly wants that but she's tired of the spotlight and probably believes that she'll still be rejected even if the truth comes out. People will still resent her for not being able to save the people of Poisson because thats just how people are when they believe something even when the truth says its false. Heck there are probably people who deeply resent Furina for lying to them about being their archon for centuries. Furina has observed humanity just as long as Neuvillette and understands that there are just somethings that the truth cannot fix but the truth still needs to come out one day so time can heal those wounds.
    Hopefully Furina's 2nd story quest will center around Furina finally allowing Fontaine to tell the true story of Focalors and Furina. Whether its through another play or a interview with the steambird we'll see. And as for the 2nd weekly boss of Fontaine, I'm betting we'll get that from Neuvillette's 2nd story quest this time since he's the one in charge of protecting Fontaine and Furina has no reason to seek out whatever monster we're supposed to fight because she's made it clear she has no combat capabilities whatsoever and is a regular civilian now.
    And the 'im huffing copium' bet is that if they want to maintain the Archons unlocking weekly bosses, then maybe Venti's 2nd story quest will finally be released from Da Wei's office
    Good Vid, sorry for my long tangents

      I also hope that she can somehow resolve the problem with Oceanids. Yes she doesnt have any personal problems against Oceanids as far as we know, but she was "The Hydro Archon".
      But unfortunately her chance kn getting 2nd story quest is kinda grimm if you take a look on the illegal way 🥲

    Why did they have her say "The prophecy was wrong" at the end instead of at least saying "I did it" to at the least acknowledge herself. That is the biggest thing that bothers me.

    • @audas1536
      @audas1536 Год назад +47

      The trial against Furina, she thought her efforts go to waste when that trial revealed her secret and thinking the people will dissolve. So it makes sense to say her that, she didn't thought it would not work

    • @Zharque
      @Zharque Год назад +60

      She thought she failed, and the fact that everyone actually lived despite the flood meant that the prophecy must've been wrong in the first place. Or at least that was her and the people's conclusion, and why she just said she was tired after hearing the actual truth. The self-doubt during that period of time must've been crazy.

      @@Zharque I understand the thought. It left me with the feeling she struggled for 500 years for nothing cause the prophecy was wrong. Instead of her feeling relief that she succeeded. Personally I would expect a human to take a longer time to recover mentally thinking it was an unnecessary sacrifice. But they don't cover how much time passes between that and her story quest. I was looking at it with the feeling it left me personally with.

      Neuvilette told us in the post-quest wrapup that he faithfully conveyed Focalor's entire words to Furina after the narwhal was dealt with. Until that point, she had still believed that she failed in her duty when she was caught as a fraud in her trial. That's why she was shocked, and asked, "the prophecy... was wrong?" She didn't know yet that her failing at the very end wasn't a failure, but rather all part of Focalors' plan.

    Furina's story quest reminds me a lot of her own suffering. The story of the killed director mirrors that of Furina's. There are so many references to Furina's suffering that whenever they were shown, my mind always tells me that Furina must have understood those references as well.

    I would say that Furina is a without a doubt, a patriot, and nobody deserves to carry a burden like this.
    Sure she has countless flaws, but that's because she kept in the dark by her 'mother ' ( a real archon gave Furina life, for me it counts)
    At the very least many citizens recognize that Furina does not deserve to be scorned for years to come ( Navia for example.)

    I respect what Furina endured, and not gonna lie she endured lol. That said I think she's grossly overrated, there are far better and more impactful characters who faced similar if not more difficult circumstances than Furina had to endure, Neuvillette and Navia come to mind here. She's a traumatized narcissist who fulfilled her role not because of her own will but that of her maker. Throughout the story there are numerous examples that show how shallow she actually is and reflects to a large extent the ugliness of Fontaine i.e. their sense of superiority and selfishness. She's not a hero she's a "mascot".

      You really didn't understand absolutly anything, that's crazy...
      Furina is literally the representation of Jesus who sacrifices himself to save everyone, even those who never believed in him.
      I don't want to be insulting but you really have two neurons if you think that Navia endures more suffering than Furina. Navia lost loved ones, it happens in everyone's life, Furina lost loved ones for 500 years, until she realized that she can't get attached to anyone and that she continues to live her long centuries alone.
      To say that Furina is narcissistic is even worse. Do you even know what “narcissistic” means? Because I really don't feel like it. Furina is the furthest thing from a narcissist. She doesn't like herself, we see it several times, she constantly doubts herself and doesn't even understand that she is one of the main reasons why Fontaine was saved. She felt terribly sorry for Poisson even though we know perfectly well that she couldn't do absolutely anything. A narcissist certainly doesn't feel this kind of feeling towards himself.
      Like I said, you really didn't understand Furina's story, or, who knows, you fell asleep during her story? Or you're just too stupid to be able to understand her story (the fact that you're used the word narcissistic to describe Furina makes me think the last option is the right one).

      For starters it's a video game no need to start spewing insults. Second of all I get what you're saying, however there are many examples throughout the story where she's left to make a decision outside of what Focalors tasked her to do where she chooses not for the good of others but to protect her own reputation. For example when we just get to Fontaine, the events of the trial and even towards the end when she's pleading that she's the archon. Like I said I respect what she endured but that's where it stops. (Not everyone is going to agree with you, you can express your opinion without being disrespectful, happy new year fam).
