I especially love that they're not really fighting (in the parts that are pre-rendered and not gameplay anyway). If you look closely and slow down the footage, a lot of their hits aren't actually connecting (pay attention to Wriothesley's punch at 2:52 for probably the clearest example), and then as soon as Furina poses, all of them stop fighting to pose as well. They're all acting with her.

You might not notice that her Ousia alignment(short hair, black accents on outfit), she is on the stage. All the spotlight is on her, she is the Main CHARACTER of the PERFORMANCE. While her Pneuma counterpart(long hair, white accents on outfit), she's the one holding the camera. She is like the AUDIENCE of the PERFOMANCE.
I think that's because Focalor tricked her people and the heavenly principals into believing she was the real hydro archon (aka Furina) for 500 years. So to others Focalor is Furina because Focalor actually the director or "mastermind".
someone pointed out that ousia vs pneuma is those who wear masks (like neuvilette or lyney) vs those that stay true to themselves (like lynette or wriothesley), which is probably reflected here with furina

If you look closely, you'll see that from 1:39 to 1:47 she imitates one of the four other Archons with every swing. Even the colour of the background and members of the audience change accordingly. What a beautiful Character Demo!
For refence, since it’s a bit hard to see. The first swing is with Sumaru Citizens, and she just swings normally (well Nahida does so in an idle animation so fairs fair) Next is monstat generic models, and she has a harp in her hand, Then you see a bunch of Inazuma NPC and she is sitting like Ei when we find her meditating in the plane of Euthymia, Finally the easily one to notice is Liyue since she just throws Mora everwhere.
I can't believe one year has come and gone just like that. Fontaine was nothing short of a masterpiece! This has been the absolute best story I've ever experienced! Thank you Furina for all you've done! The sacrifices you made to save the people of Fontaine will never be forgotten! You will always be the Hydro Archon! I hope we can have more adventures in the future!

I dunno why but seeing furina being so giddy and bouncy makes me happy it’s kind of like yoimiya for me she’s so cheery and so bubbly to the point when I started using her my mood felt better. Am I going crazy?! Their character radiates happy vibes in their playstyle

Personally, this is the best Character Demo we've gotten in a while now. The cinematography is just amazing in this and the way Furina is presented in this Demo is fantastic. Btw, I just wanna take this moment to mention the scene at 1:53. I love it so much! Just Furina showing herself off to paparazzi with such glamor and elegance. Something about that felt really amazing. And the music was the cherry on top!

It shows her wishing she could beat the whale, wishing she didnt need clorinde and neuvillette, wishing childe was weak, wishing the magic kid was bad at magic, and wishing everyone got along and liked her. @@buffedsans8761 While I largely agree with your analysis, I'd also like to put a more positive spin on it. The hat fling at 1:50 does show that there are people watching her performance. Yes this, doesn't make the stage she performs on any less lonely, but it does give the play a purpose. The opening shot shows that the peaceful day to day of Fontaine owes no small part to Furina, even if the people are none the wiser to it. Furina LOVES Fontaine and its people, and nowhere do we see this more than her burst animation. I adore the loving yet mischievous look Furina gives the cityscape of Fontaine and its people (symbolized by her familiars), before raising everything up in a high-spirited, whimsical fashion. "It's better to laugh than to cry" "Laughter is unique to mankind" "Let's enjoy today", despite all that she's been through, the song could also show that she finds a sense of revelry and joy in all that has come to past, and is ready to turn the page in her own story.

It reminded me of honkai chronicals, specifically otto apocalypse’s. At the end, they called him a clown, a clumsy actor gesturing wildly on the stage,who takes their leave silently and without a bow. I feel like Furina is the essence of letting go, the antithesis.

I just realized this is the first archon who openly gets to interact with their people. No one knows Venti or Zhongli are archons. Ei shut herself in her room. Nahida was trapped in a prison. That makes Furina the first Archon who chills and grills with her people LOL
I agree and disagree; Nahida did gain the freedom and is now actually doing her duties as an archon but it is true that that is a) a new development for her, and b) she is still not used to mingling with the people, and they are not used to mingling with her, as her story quest showed. Same thing for Ei, she tries and fails to mingle with the people… now, but again a new development for her. You do have a point in that Furina is the only archon who was already openly mingling with the people when we met her though
That character swap sound effect at @ 1:40 when Furina is acting like the archons on her swing is subtle and playful. Furina is breaking the 4th wall and truly performing for us
7 months later with his rerun active, I have no doubt, this is one of the characters that Hoyoverse made with love. Good design, good lore and not to mention its power in teams to the point of bringing us great teams in a monotonous era and boosting sales at a low time. i just noticed how her voice here is slightly different to the voice she puts on when she’s in her archon mode, which makes me think that she’s probably genuinely enjoying herself in this trailer rather than putting an act on 😭💖 she seems so much happier as a human now if this is the case

Ayato's demo outright showed us how the resistance got to tenshukaku at the end of the Inazuma quest. This one is in an odd place, but it's likely Furina after she got her vision, or a dream sequence that represents what happened to her after the events of her story quest and the main archon quest.
I think it’s her imagination/dream sequence after the events of 4.2. (Warning: 4.2 story spoilers after this word) She doesn’t get powers until after her story quest (which takes place some time after the AQ). Plus Melus and Silver who show up here are already dead, so it couldn’t have happened in reality after 4.2

Without a doubt, one of the best Demos to date, and that of a character as special as Furina, not only captivated us for her backstory, but came to stay for her incredible usefulness in combat, breaking records in a declining era of the game, being on everyone's lips. This is one of those characters that Hoyoverse lovingly created every aspect of. Simply Furina, the human who earned the respect of the Archons and the rightful Goddess of justice.

The still shots were role reversal. This demo has so many details. Worth watching multiple times to catch them all. Neuvillette being arrested. Childe running from battle. Lyney in the water tank rather than Lynette. My favorite is the Childe dropkick.

fontaine and furina got me into the game and furina carried me all the way through inazuma and the rest of the archon quests by herself, getting furina at exactly 50 pulls right 10 hours before the banner end as a new player is like the best thing that happened to me
Back in Sumeru I wasn't expecting much from Fontaine or Furina, but Hoyoverse keeps delivering. This demo is one the best we've got ever, and the French vocals at the end are just magnificent.

What’s ironic about this is that, it seems like a really fun and wholesome performance, but when you notice that one small detail, where the Performance ended, No One, and I mean, No One, Clapped, except for us Viewers. Furina’s “Performance” led to the Prophecy, where the people of Fontaine disappeared, hence, no cheers nor around of applauses. And it is up to us Viewers, or Travelers, that can turn Her Fate, around.

You might not notice that her Ousia alignment(short hair, black accents on outfit), she is on the stage. All the spotlight is on her, she is the Main CHARACTER of the PERFORMANCE.
While her Pneuma counterpart(long hair, white accents on outfit), she's the one holding the camera. She is like the AUDIENCE of the PERFOMANCE.
I think that's because Focalor tricked her people and the heavenly principals into believing she was the real hydro archon (aka Furina) for 500 years. So to others Focalor is Furina because Focalor actually the director or "mastermind".

If you look closely, you'll see that from 1:39 to 1:47 she imitates one of the four other Archons with every swing. Even the colour of the background and members of the audience change accordingly. What a beautiful Character Demo!

The entire thing is her wishing she was more useful.
I bet the Furina we got so far was an oceanid, that's why the Father couldn't sense archon power from her and real Furina was off somewhere trying to resolve the proffecy.

Yes this, doesn't make the stage she performs on any less lonely, but it does give the play a purpose. The opening shot shows that the peaceful day to day of Fontaine owes no small part to Furina, even if the people are none the wiser to it. Furina LOVES Fontaine and its people, and nowhere do we see this more than her burst animation. I adore the loving yet mischievous look Furina gives the cityscape of Fontaine and its people (symbolized by her familiars), before raising everything up in a high-spirited, whimsical fashion. "It's better to laugh than to cry" "Laughter is unique to mankind" "Let's enjoy today", despite all that she's been through, the song could also show that she finds a sense of revelry and joy in all that has come to past, and is ready to turn the page in her own story.

I agree and disagree; Nahida did gain the freedom and is now actually doing her duties as an archon but it is true that that is a) a new development for her, and b) she is still not used to mingling with the people, and they are not used to mingling with her, as her story quest showed. Same thing for Ei, she tries and fails to mingle with the people… now, but again a new development for her.

i just noticed how her voice here is slightly different to the voice she puts on when she’s in her archon mode, which makes me think that she’s probably genuinely enjoying herself in this trailer rather than putting an act on 😭💖 she seems so much happier as a human now if this is the case

@@kapeecoffeeit's likely canon or a dream sequence. The other demos give the impression of happening around the time of the archon quest. Ayato's demo outright showed us how the resistance got to tenshukaku at the end of the Inazuma quest.
This one is in an odd place, but it's likely Furina after she got her vision, or a dream sequence that represents what happened to her after the events of her story quest and the main archon quest.

She doesn’t get powers until after her story quest (which takes place some time after the AQ). Plus Melus and Silver who show up here are already dead, so it couldn’t have happened in reality after 4.2

I am thanking the archons that mihoyo rejected Amber (Furina's EN VA) when she auditioned for Eula. The stars aligned with her voicing Furina. literally one of the best EN va performances i have ever witnessed. She can only go up from here, and ill be looking forward to more of her works

This is one of those characters that Hoyoverse lovingly created every aspect of.
Simply Furina, the human who earned the respect of the Archons and the rightful Goddess of justice.
I loved this demo, and the fact the song at the end is actually written in french ! The lyrics are so on point too ! (Translation of the song : We are but a scene, we must better laugh than cry, because laugh is unique to man, It is our only weapon, don't worry and let's enjoy today !

I really love how, despite Furina being so overly comical, she's the one with the most humanity out of all of the archons. She's just a normal girl who loves entertainment. I can finally relate to an archon! She's definitely my favorite now.

The still shots were role reversal. This demo has so many details. Worth watching multiple times to catch them all. Neuvillette being arrested. Childe running from battle. Lyney in the water tank rather than Lynette. My favorite is the Childe dropkick.

To me, all the Archons are great fits for their lands. More diverse outfits than the characters of HSR in Genshin
fontaine and furina got me into the game and furina carried me all the way through inazuma and the rest of the archon quests by herself, getting furina at exactly 50 pulls right 10 hours before the banner end as a new player is like the best thing that happened to me

What’s ironic about this is that, it seems like a really fun and wholesome performance, but when you notice that one small detail, where the Performance ended, No One, and I mean, No One, Clapped, except for us Viewers. Furina’s “Performance” led to the Prophecy, where the people of Fontaine disappeared, hence, no cheers nor around of applauses.
And it is up to us Viewers, or Travelers, that can turn Her Fate, around.
