I know the video is old but I have a question. What if I have to start a new cycle but all the pieces are solved except two pieces but they’re in the correct position but twisted
Good question that’s the hardest part of learning blind, it’s called a new cycle. You have to swap it to some other random piece that you haven’t done yet. Meaning that you are just temporarily putting it somewhere else...
Please answer my question!! in my case, after I replace the first few stickers, one of them must be replaced with the first sticker, the (E) I think, what i should do?
Then you have to move that sticker to some other unsolved piece. Or in other words, you are just temporarily moving it somewhere else...if this doesn't help let me know I can try to rephrase it...
@CookieCubing123 wow, 1 hour ago!! Nice! Your motivation to upload this video (you uploaded it because there aren't a lot of tutorials) is really amazing!! Keep up the great work!!!
E Cuber you can use y perm as your swapping algorithm on 2x2 but it is not in your best interest if you want to someday learn 3BLD...y perm doesn’t work for 3 BLD
It just takes a little bit of practice and knowing the color scheme 👍 the more you are comfortable with the color scheme (based on the one white red and green corner piece) the easier it will be
Green front, white top, orange on the left. Just remember that, and you’ll be good. The rest will be obvious as yellow is always opposite of white, blue is opposite of blue, and red is opposite of orange.
That is the hardest part of blind solving so good question 👍 what you do is you swap with any individual sticker that is part of the wrongly oriented corner (example : if the mis oriented corner is the K V P corner, then you would probably swap to V, then swap to P or K depending on the orientation). Moral of the story is you just swap to any sticker on the mis oriented corner and then swap again to the correct sticker on that piece. If this didn’t make sense let me know I can try to rephrase it 👍
That okay I’ll try to rephrase it. Basically you swap to the mis oriented corner and then swap back but in the correct orientation. (Step 1 is to swap to one of the 3 stickers on the misoriented corner, step 2 is to swap it back but in the right orientation)
How do you know that for example on one block you‘ll look st the orange sticker (letter Q) when there are 2 more colors and letters? Why exactly the orange one it confuses me so much
That good question, that is the hardest part of blind solving 👍 when that happens you have to swap to the misoriented corner and then swap back but in the correct orientation (meaning that you swap to the misoriented corner in any of the 3 stickers, and then swap back to the correct orientation). If this didn’t make sense let me know, I can try to rephrase it
Well first of all you probably shouldn't have done that...but if it is a stickerless cube I think you can use an Expo marker over it and then wipe it off...don't hold me to that though, research it first...
Good question, that is the hardest part of blind solving in my opinion 👍 how I think about it is you swap the piece with some other unsolved piece. Meaning that you take the piece, and put it somewhere else that you haven’t swapped to yet. If this doesn’t help just let me know, I can try to rephrase it 👍
Super sorry for the late response...In the video it kind of looked like I was pointing at E a little bit so that's my bad. But if you hold the cube with white on top and green facing you, and then do a Y' (so the orange is now facing you), starting in the top left going clockwise it goes E, F, G, H... Does that clarify?
Hey i have a question! I did this scramble: U R2 U F' U2 R F2 R' And i used these letters: i b k t d and i ended up with the buffer and the front-left-lower piece on the right spot but unsolved. Is that a special case or did i do something wrong? Thanks!
Larsm19 that’s a good question :D with that scramble and using the code that you did, you should just be able to do something like a U L. But it’s not necessarily a special case, it’s a misoriented corner and when that happens you just have to swap to the misoriented corner and swap back in the right orientation. If this doesn’t make sense I can try I rephrase it 👌
Larsm19 you know if there will be a mis oriented corner when the buffer has returned back to the correct location, but there still another piece you haven’t “visited” yet...and if the piece you haven’t visited yet is a mis oriented, then you know you will be left with a mis oriented corner....it’s sorta hard to explain so hopefully this made sense
My apologies, I haven't picked up a cube in over a year, but if my memory serves me correctly, the cycle ends when you have done at least one letter on every piece that needs solving. For example, if you have 6 pieces that need solving (i.e. two are already in place), then in a perfect scenario you will have 6 letters.

Okay I'll try to explain it differently.....a new cycle is when the "buffer piece", which is the white blue and orange corner in the video, is in the correct slot (solved), but there are still some remaining unsolved pieces on the rest of the cube. If that is the case, where the "buffer piece" is already in the correct spot, then we swap it some other unsolved piece. Or in other words, a spot on the cube we haven't visited yet. If this still doesn't make sense I apologize, it is hard to explain without a visual. I have a video coming out tomorrow that is a bunch of 2BLD example solves that go over a bunch of different scenarios, so that should be very helpful :D
The moral of the story with blind solving is the following. You swap pieces using the algorithm. You have to move pieces to the swapping location (set up moves), then do the alg, and then undo the moves you did to get it there. Usually you have to follow this pattern about 5 to 7 times.
