i think that 'Permanent Waves' and 'Moving Pictures' are so immaculately produced and well-written and performed, they'll sound good forever. I love the other rush records, but i can't say that about them. i recently explored 'test for echo' and 'clockwork angels' , which i hadn't heard until this week, and was pleasantly surpised. i didn't really like those couple albums after 'signals'. however, with those two more recent albums i listed, they go for kind of a more punk sound, a bold move, i think.

@@jimmythebold589 I love love love Permanent Waves! As amazing as Moving Pictures is, PW is my go to! Aside from the amazing songs, to me, the production on PW is immaculate! It's like I'm in the studio with them!!! My sleeper is Grace Under Pressure. In fact, in the last decade or so, I've probably listened to it more than any other Rush album. I love the songs...The playing...Ged is singing in a lower more pleasing register...And while the production isn't perfect, it is still a sonically enjoyable experience. Happy listening 😃

Right there with you @GRILLBUOY101 having a hard time listening to them at the moment without crying. I got home Friday night after an unusually long day at work. I had told my bandmates earlier in the day that I wasn't going to be making to band practice due to the unexpected overtime. I got home and heard the news. Picked up the phone to message my best friend and guitarist of our band. He had already messaged me only a minute earlier.
I sat there in disbelief for a few minutes. Then I questioned what the hell I was doing just sitting there. My mind kind of cleared and I asked myself, "What would Neil want me to do?" (Some may think that that sounds or is cliche/corny but I don't care). It became clear after that internal question was asked. I should go jam with my best friends. I NEED to go jam with my best friends. I could almost hear Neil saying, "Life is to short to pass up any opportunity to do something you love with those that you love." Thank you, Neil.

There is only one rush, I started listening to them in 1977 all the way to the end of Neil Peart’s life I will listen to them until the day I die. The day of his death I literally cried this man was a tremendous drummer and not even a drummer I call him more of a percussionist, may he rest in peace and maybe someday I’ll get to meet them in the big stage in the sky. 🤘🏼
