0:01 I'll never get over the fact that Grom's first reaction upon being presented with a chalice of demon blood to turn his race into invincible conquerers at the price of their souls, was "ew, yucky"
So... Grom's name has been Grommash since like... War of the Clans or something. Point is, Reforged was not where they renamed him as Mannoroth calls him Grommash in OG WC3, though they still dropped calling him Grom for some reason. Also, Grom DID have a giant axe in OG WC3. Fun fact, attacking Grom's forces in Cry of the Warsong makes the Warsong Clan hostile against you.
They did the horrible audio splicing of every voiced instance of grom being replaced with "hellscream" because they didnt want to get sued by games workshop who have a warhammer fantasy character named Grom. Would have been fine if they'd just paid people to redub it, or hired someone who new how to actually fucking audio splice but it sounds like ear cancer the way they did it.
You know this kinda makes me nostalgic. Even as a 10 year old i wanted to save as many people as possible, tho your trick to save the first Tauren def surprised me, i knew about Cairne pulling his wounded boys across the map, as you said, it's rewarding. Unfortunately in the previous version you couldn't build anything in Grom's base, his units would attack it! Thought you'd like to know. Not even close that cenarius fight. What is this Doom guard coding ? Cripple ? oh wait the necklace... that's actually genius. As always your W3 content is a blessing, a shame the game itself took such a beating. What's next after W3 btw? i do have some ideas in mind
We've reached the point of snark where, when you say a mission is super cool, I genuinely can't tell anymore if it's great or if it absolutely sucks. :D also KAREN BLOODHOOF LMFAO
This series doesn't get anywhere near enough love. Solid jokes and an overview of an entertaining challenge with just the right pace. As someone who absolutely can't stand watching speedruns/challenge runs anymore because they're just 95% the streamer talking to strangers I don't care whatsoever about, or talking about shit that isn't related to the game and winds up going into weird places (a DS3 speedrunner I used to like keeps talking about ADHD with his chat and is so painfully uneducated about it that I can't watch him anymore)
5:00 This might be a weird reforged change. Back when I played this mission, I put a SINGLE farm next to Grom's base, and his orcs outright destroyed it.
this is sooooooooo much easier in the (broken) Reforged version. I mentioned this in Kelsier's run as well but the early levels of the Orc campaign are a nightmare in classic Reign of Chaos. The Tauren are physical objects so they don't have scripted appearances (and deaths? that one that died even though it took no hits will survive because it's not a scripted death) but the Centaurs will absolutely switch aggro to the Taurens if you don't move all of them over to you before you trigger the screen reveal, which is a pain in itself because chain lightning won't hit all of the centaur and so you might not pull all of them. I'm sure it was that difficult here as well but the Tauren not existing certainly helps. The third mission is straight up impossible because you can't block Grom's base. As soon as you build a burrow or anything in a path that will block their pathing their units will attack your buildings so that they can get out. Also, I believe the trigger that causes Grom to strike out after your Great Hall finishes is tied to the Human bases as well, because even with Grom preoccupied with attacking the structures surrounding his base, I still had regular attacks coming from the humans. Now, I could be wrong and that some of these were things that were fixed in the later patches like 1.21 but this was the experience I was going through using 1.05 (I think?) off my Frozen Throne disk
There are allies you can save in the last mission. In cages along the map, they will appear if you break them out. But since Grom ends up freeing all the orcs, one could say it isn't necessary to break the cages as all allies would end up being saved anyways.

4:27 I know they've got magic and all but hearing that the Horde wiped out a _Terran_ base is just nuts. Since orcs have no healing, I think it's literally impossible to have a no death run on Warcraft 2. And even for humans, impossible until they get heal. Ok, some missions/maps it can be done. All of them ? Nope.
@@Winnetou17 It may sound literally impossible, but GGG has already done SC2's terran campaign deathless. That was widely regarded as impossible beforehand, too. :p
@@Winnetou17 I think missions with water may be doable since savescumming and careful micro can do so much in naval battles, and if you control the water you can completely neuter your opponent. Human feels definitely easier since they got healing and exorcism to counter death knights and later poly to counter dragons, although the last human mission is probably impossible deathless. Also, there's a mission (I think 13th or second last human mission, attack on blackrock spire or smth?) where orcs betray humans' diplomatic party or something and you have a bunch of knights and Lothar surrounded by a ton of enemies. I'm pretty sure there is no saving all of them. For orcs though things are probably much harder for late land maps like Quel Thalas. Death knights seem good on paper but with enemy exorcism and polymorph and summoned units being considered units (skellies could otherwise be used to drain paladins mana), you would have to cheese like hell with like runes or smth. Maybe you could use mass catapults? Seems like an absolute nightmare! The beyond the dark portal is almost certainly impossible the entire expansion being such a bloody meat grinder. I dont think you can do half of the missions deathless.
Actually, Fel Orcs also do more damage in absolute numbers, and often have faster attack as well. It´s not just the damage type that changes. It´s literally an upgrade in every category.

And that narrative says NO ONE WILL BE SACRIFICED FOR VICTORY... just staks of sticks and stones that apparently operate thanks to magic and not people
Grant, do you know how it is called when Grommash puts on boots of speed? Grom-dash! Also, the items for heroes are stored between missions in the special area, and for missions 3-5 it is called Grom-cache. In TFT, in addition to Grom-cache, the new data storage was added - Grom-hash, which is faster but do not carry entities between Grom-acts.

0:01 I'll never get over the fact that Grom's first reaction upon being presented with a chalice of demon blood to turn his race into invincible conquerers at the price of their souls, was "ew, yucky"
I died at inconsequential terran base, reload.
Me (sweating bullets): I forgot to save!
:D
I’m glad you made some compelling cinema out of the demigod fight: you really got robbed of some dramatics by that last mission finishing that early.
We've reached the point of snark where, when you say a mission is super cool, I genuinely can't tell anymore if it's great or if it absolutely sucks. :D
also KAREN BLOODHOOF LMFAO
They renamed Grom in WoW. Also he always had the ax. Kind of weird how they used demolishers instead of the og catapults
This series doesn't get anywhere near enough love.
Solid jokes and an overview of an entertaining challenge with just the right pace. As someone who absolutely can't stand watching speedruns/challenge runs anymore because they're just 95% the streamer talking to strangers I don't care whatsoever about, or talking about shit that isn't related to the game and winds up going into weird places (a DS3 speedrunner I used to like keeps talking about ADHD with his chat and is so painfully uneducated about it that I can't watch him anymore)
he will post 2-3 more videos and blow the fuck up, everyone will be watching this series of his and BAM, TOP 10 Game creators.
Demon lord: Now when grommash drinks Mannoroth's blood we will control the orks again.
Demon: master he didn't drink it
Demon lord: WHAT!?!?!!
Demon: He didn't drink it, someone called GGG told him he knows another way to kill the satyrs.
Demon Lord: Oh really how?
Demon: A lot of towers and catapults,
Demon Lord: Well, this works as well, then. They must have suffered heavy casualties fighting the demigod, we can-
Demon: They suffered no loss of life, master.
Demon Lord: ...
10:11 to 11:24 - That was .. riveting .. The music, the intense commentary and
even the visuals. Seventy-Three seconds of *(Chef's Kiss)* sheer perfection. :)
This part was very remarkable.
Those series makes my mood much more better. The gameplay and the commentary are nice. Keep it up, I am really glad your channel exists at this point.
That Cenarius run reminds me of when i last beat the original campaign and didn't realize you didn't have to defeat possessed Grom to unpossess him and committed Tauren genocide to whittle him down to 1 HP where he promptly split into 4 full HP mirror images... had to go touch grass after that...
Hell, that campaign was especially impressive to watch. In particular the last mission :) really got me there
Wards are closer to buildings than units so I guess you're in the clear after all haha.
Troll Witchdoctors get to be useful!
"Let me moove"
I see what you did there
Random Tauren: What are these letters burned on my ass?!
4:27 I know they've got magic and all but hearing that the Horde wiped out a _Terran_ base is just nuts. You'd think with power armor and what not they'd have the upper edge against a dude on a wolf swinging an ax around.
~Serious movie announcer voice~: "The Demi God has fallen" ~Excited kid voice~: "Meanwhile Thrall is playing with blimps!"
Not quite as deadly as "Spooky Ghost Waifu" but still pretty funny.
"Only beef" I see what you did there and I Do Not Approve.
Nice Soul Gem image.
The right gear makes all of the difference, yeah.
Cenarius when you fight him as a boss:
Cenarius when you play elf: Hey trees wake up
You never play as Cenarius in Warcraft 3 though
@@nevermore7285 But you can play as Malfurion! Shut up take Malfurion
@@flamefierce998 Malfurion is a night elf. Cenarius is literally a demigod and taught Malfurion. They are in very different categories of power.
@@nevermore7285 Lore wise? Very powerful. Reality? Is often dissapointing
"...help us clear a fairly inconsequential Terran base." Oh shit, the Terrans are in Kalimdor??
well _someone_ has to keep an eye on that hydralisk... ;-)
LE: 4:27 and 3m47s in the NElf campaign.
@@irrelevant_noob true but terrans on kalimdor is a very bad news
Grom: phew we beat cenarius. I could use a drink. *drinks demon blood* wait shit
I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but Grom had an axe in the original version, too. It's not just a Reforged thing. Part of the unique Blademaster unit model. Love these videos, by the way! Masterful skill and strategies coupled with great presentation. Keep it up!
I'm really impressed. Your tactics are amazing!
Can't wait to see the Night Elves' part and (hopefully!) the next ones!
was really waiting for this :D
Love this. I feel like you had a lot of fun with the script for this one!
Man, having a high-level blade master really makes some of these missions go by in a Gromflash
man your channel is one of a kind
i didnt know anyone made these type of videos for sc and wc
What a madman, you actually completed the Cenarius mission without succumbing Grom to the corrupted blood
That last mission is such a pacifist mission lol
Can't wait 'till you also try to kill Archimonde before reaching the tree xD
Unsure about reforger but Archimonde is killable with a fuckton of Ancient Protectors and Ballistas
@@Soli167 But if he is fair. Ancients consume a Wisp. Thus, he technically looses a unit.
@@ganis6020 He didn't count it when using Drones to create buildings for the Zerg campaign in Starcraft 2.
@@Techhunter_Talon idk how StarCraft works. But this is The case in Warcraft 3. It would count.
@@ganis6020 In actuality, the Wisp is becoming the Treant it 'builds'. The only iffy thing is if he counts as Treants being destroyed as a structure loss or unit loss because they can act as units when uprooted.
Was really waiting for this one! Keep it up! :)
Appreciate that little Master Ball of yours instead of Soul Gem
And awesome video of course
Im really happy that this game still gets attention to this day.
Keep up the good work man, your videos are really entertaining.
i still remember 11 year old me playing Frozen throne campaign
in awe like "Why hellscream Why"
Grom isn't in the Frozen Throne expansion though ?
I guess you mean Reign of Chaos, since Grom was already a little bit dead by the time of TFT ;)
Two things about Hellscream:
1. His name IS Grommash. Grom is short for Grommash. It's literally the same as 'Tom' vs 'Thomas'.
2. Pretty sure the demons call him Grommash.
1. Id say wards and mines and stuff arent units, rather buildings (not like theyre sentient or anything)
2. I believe grommash is his full name
Steam tanks are units but not sentient?
@@CavCave they have dwarves inside, and also can be controlled by the player
@@Addsomehappy you can control wards and mines, duh. It's not their fault they can't do anything except standing still :-(
Wards even improved in TFT so some of them can rotate and attack, they are trying man.
So... You just changed the whole Warcraft Lore and now it became PeaceCraft Nice
You think this is why Garrosh created the Iron Horde? Because he realised that Grom and the rest were just cowards and resorted to drugs instead of their own strength?
Fun thing about the Cry of the Warsong mission is that each human base only starts attacking once Grom has attacked that specific base.
"The final tower falls, my line of defense is gone, and ......."
Cenarius: "Looks at the peon"
Peon: RUN !!!
i love the grom-puns and the speedrun strats as well. Good job not only showing off you skill but entertain as well!
16 seconds a new record (for me) even before the notification
Literally found this channel this morning, so hyped this came out
Normally, in Cry of the Warsong, your allies would attack any building you make in their base so you wouldn't block them off. Reforged broke it.
Or fixed it, because it doesn't make sense for your ally to attack your buildings because you built them too close to them.
Your videos are among that rare crop that I’m always excited for and happy to see that notification for. Keep up the good work
Can't wait to see how you will deal with the last mission in the Night Elf campaign!
I used mass Dryad to finish that but the casualty is really not pretty i wonder if this mission actually possible deathless on hard 😕
Damn I just binge watched the entire run so far and I need more
Omg i was just watching the undead campaign and was like " damn gonna have to wait for the next one" haha 15 seconds later its here :)))
His name is actually Grommash, though. It's like saying "Your name can't be Stuart, you're Stu!"
Also, in orcish, "Grom" means Giant, and "Mash" means heart. - So his name Grommash means "Giant's Heart".
is that warcraft 2 music!?! (could you do a warcraft 2 runthrough with this challenge after the warcraft 3 campaign is finished?)
From what I remember that may be tricky. The ai is absurdly trigger happy with their polymorphs.
Since orcs have no healing, I think it's literally impossible to have a no death run on Warcraft 2. And even for humans, impossible until they get heal.
Ok, some missions/maps it can be done. All of them ? Nope.
@@Winnetou17 sounds like a challenge lol. I definitely think it’s possible, but tricky to do the human campaign.
There are other channels doing runs like this. The difference?
You are goddamn entertaining. I especially loved the part where you killed Cenarius without getting chaos damage. Glorious!
Here's to hoping your popularity grows, man! I enjoy watching your videos too much for you to only have 37k subscribers.
Yup. He takes these challenges to the next level. Most would say timed units don't count (ans as such can be used as long as they die to their timer and not the enemy) or dont care about AI allies.
here? He follows a narrative.
You really hype up the last mission, haha
4:27 Ahh yes, a fairly inconsequential Terran base on Kalimdor
Your videos are always really good but that fight against Cenarius was just epic af
He was always Grommash, Grom is a nickname.
Hot-damn, I was just about to go to bed!
Got something better to do now!
he gets me every time
I have been playing Warcraft since I was 8 (Now 21) , the game is amazing, my love for RTS games and RPGs came from Warcraft, it was also one of the main reasons I started learning English. (It was really awesome knowing words like Frostmourne, Blade and Chest plate while the others kids were having trouble learning "giraffe", "lion" etc 😂).
I was really disappointed with the Reforge, but seeing your vids reminded me of the good times, so I am planning to revisit it soon, and this time, I will try to keep my units alive more often than usual 😁
Pretty sure his name has always been Grommash just everyone always shortens it to Grom.
4:10 that big 4legged demon called him Grommash in base warcraft 3 actually
Monnoroth or something
I was expecting Activision to ruin another iconic Warcraft mission.
i appreciate that you put real Warcraft music over this fake Warcraft gameplay.
Orc has most insane items by their last chapter out of all RoC campaigns. Glad you knew how to make use of triggers and distribute items for future use
Cairne doesn't take a shower joke make me laugh so hard.
Your deathless runs are so entertaining.
May you grow big eventually.
Oh man, I cant wait for Frozen Throne!
Btw, you inspired another youtuber named Kelsier to attempt a deathless run of non-reforged Reign of Chaos. His run is really impressive as well!
Watching someone who is good at a RTS is so satisfying
