- How does prolonged exposure to intense UV light impact 3D-printed plastics? Will they fade?
In this video, we test samples manufactured using various additive processes, including FDM, SLS, SLA, PolyJet, DLS, and LSPc, to determine their UV resistance.

I would love to see before/after notched toughness testing
Clever idea for a video!
Great experiment!
Dyed materials (SLA, MJF) - Faded easily
FDM - Darker the color, more it survived
Lighter the color, more yellowish
Overall:
Light materials get yellowish over time
Clear materials tend to become ambery over time
White:
ASA less faded
ABS little bit yellowish
Resin parts fades more than FDM & SLS
ULTEM Showed little fading only
*Summary:*
Prefer darker color for longer time
Prefer paint versus dye
Hope we can expect a video on the strength with UV Exposure :)
Pump the Stock!
Very cool!
