The Amadeus 680 is also available with the C# trill key. It is their equivalent to the Di Zhao 500. $1830 with the C# trill, available with the Haynes classic headjoint, for the same price. No D# roller though.

Hi Kathy,
We are looking for a step up and Kessler and sons has an exclusive deal with Pearl on their 665 model with C# trill and D# roller. Heck...last year pre-covid they even tossed a piccoli in too. Cheap piccoli but still nice....now it's $200 extra if you desire it......
I know the Pearl is likely a bump down but at $1500 it is a lot of bang for the buck.
My budget for the step up is $2100 and the Pearl fits nicely even though the Di Zhao 700 is solid silver and likely a better tone but goes over our budget. Hmmm......
We are in the process of setting up 5 models in our budget and having my daughter and teacher decide which one works best.

What models are you looking at? We are glad to send one for a trial and can do a Zoom with both your daughter and her teacher. Her teacher will be able to answer questions and guide her in the right direction. In the end you want to give your daughter the best advantage for success. Besides price, the things your teacher will look at are scale, response, tone and repair history for that brand. I have a student who already had a different instrument that you are familiar with and they had so many repair issues. They finally just made the switch to Di Zhao and the problems have stopped, so I know the problems were not from the student mishandling the flute.
