    I’m a firefighter in a very rough city. With fentanyl overdose, if we can resuscitate the person, the first thing I see looking at me is not the person. It’s the demon/addiction before the person ‘comes back online’
    Even seen something as crazy as a girl mumbling and talking to herself, locked out of her own house burning a small pile of bibles in her front yard like something out of a movie.
    I have icons by my bed in my station. I carry my prayer rope at all times on duty. I do not think these experiences are overly remarkable. They are the only way things can be in a city like this. Orthodoxy has a way to properly frame these…ontological floods without getting sensational.
    The Sacramental Life of the Church is the only and best medicine we could receive by God’s Grace.
    God bless your family and thank you for the video.

    Thank you Father for this video. A little about my story with possession: I was baptized in the Antiochian Orthodox Church as a child. Unfortunately, I was not raised in the Faith. Long story short, as i grew into adulthood, I fell into the ways of the world, eventually began studying the occult, dabbling in witchcraft, and new age. Because of these practices I became demonically possessed. I was mad and have gaps of time i cant even remember anything.
    The Holy Spirit guided back to Orthodox Church for healing. It took much time, fighting, and struggle. The Enemy did not want to let me go. But gradually after re-entering the life of the Orthodox Church and participating in the mysteries, prayer, eventually, the demon left me. I still battle but it is much different now. It is an Orthodox Christian walking in my faith in Christ daily seeking repentance
    Coming back to the Orthodox Church, Christ and the mysteries saved me. Glory to God for all things☦️☦️☦️

    I suffered from sleep paralysis demons since I was 15. Grew up secular and was a atheist. I would get episodes 1-2 times a year of these vivid dreams. Tall rotting flesh eyeless men at the foot of my bed. Dogs growling and barking in my ear on top of me. I was unable to move and dealt with it by eventually cursing at these things instead of playing asleep and waiting. I came to Christ through military service and I’m still pretty non denominational but realize the historical credibility of the Orthodox Church. Anyways I’m 24 now and stopped having said sleep paralysis episodes around the time I was baptized after basic training 4 years ago. This summer I moved back home and was treated with a surprise as I “woke up” in a sleep paralysis episode I recognized quickly. As I heard the demons growling and trying to tell me something i immediately prayed for the power of Christ to help me and it all went away like a snap of the fingers. Quickest and last sleep paralysis episode I’ve ever had. You can chop it all up to just lucid dream wake scenario and my subconscious. But you couldn’t see how real the things I’ve seen were.

    My spiritual father (reposed 2014) deemed after my 3 hour life confession that I needed three formal exorcism sessions. My background included idolatry in a Hindu cult, lots of drug use, fornication etc.
    These sweet, gentle, calm sessions of read prayers were very helpful as I can see now looking back! I pray more people who need more work of catharsis and purification might receive what they need before cleansing baptism!

      Be careful, the bishops of the Orthodox Church in America do not approve of this idea that you have to get rebaptized and recently a bishop spoke publicly against RUclips Orthodox who teach this without any right to do so.
      To baptize again is actually a sacrilege and a form of Donatism. That's why neither Catholics nor Protestants baptize again. One baptism is sufficient in the name of the Holy Trinity. I'm Catholic btw.

Just reading the lesser keys of Solomon was how I was basically passed by a demon for 3 days until I prayed to God. It can take a lot of time to heal and to come to the Truth. Make sure you get connected with a good Orthodox priest. Perhaps seek out a spiritual father (a monk ideally) to help you. I keep my prayer rope on my wrist when I sleep, that way I can have it on hand if I wake up mid dream. This helps redirect my mind away from the content of the dream. I have also “prayed myself to sleep” using the Jesus Prayer. Interestingly, keeping the fasts well can be helpful in this scenario as well.

      I would see about getting a priest to read the interdiction prayer of St Basil over you. Should be easy to find in the book of needs. There is a copy online on ponmarproject. It’s essentially an online liturgical book resource. It has the book of needs in case he needs help finding the prayer. I would also recommend reading psalm 67, psalm 90 and the prayer to the venerable cross. The canon to the Mother of God can also help as well as the canon to the Guardian Angel.

    Old school confessional Lutheran here:
    I assisted in an exorcism once by two Lutheran pastors. It was something that was unforgettable. Not as dramatic as you spoke of but it was something.
    The advice that was given that is still followed successfully to this day was to wear a cross, play choir music in the home, read the word daily, prayer.
    It is important that these are not “talismanic” these are things to keep God first.
    Here is a question for you that was once absurd but now reality over massive areas
    What if there is no true church in an area? This is something we deal with in my area, every church at least within a two hour drive has compromised themselves with gender identity blasphemy (and putting the fantasies of people above God is certainly blasphemy), the condoning of unrepentant sin, and several even have lesbian women claiming to be the “pastors,” and anti-trinity cults like Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses.
    There are no Orthodox churches and the Lutheran church has now gone mad.
    What is the right answer when there is no priest or pastor that is teaching the word of God anymore?

    • @living_orthodox
      @living_orthodox  9 месяцев назад +6

      The key is to realize that teaching the word of God in its true and proper context can only happen in Orthodoxy. One must develop a life of prayer and even draw inspiration from the desert fathers and Hesychast saints who often didn’t have access to a parish. However, contact a priest that is closest to you and he will make the effort.

The Bible didn’t make itself. Christ came to establish a Church (Matthew 16) He didn’t come to write a Bible. How do you suppose one would live or exercise their faith until 1517? 18:55 So, in my case I was in agreement with yourself and others on the subject of corrective baptism. The person to persuade me to doubt the position being put forward is Metropolitan Jonah (Paffhausen) with his recent "cyberdoxy" videos.
    Obviously, both sides of this discussion are claiming the canons of the Orthodox Church as the foundation for their conclusions. So, whose position do I accept? I will say that at face value Metropolitan Jonah's videos are somewhat more persuasive as they list specific canons with historical context rather than appealing to a phrase such as "the canons of the church are very clear on this" or a variant thereof.
    This is what has made me realise I need to set aside time to research this thoroughly myself with the blessing of my Priest.
    Thank you for your videos Fr Mikhail.

    • @living_orthodox
      @living_orthodox  10 месяцев назад

      That’s the point of the videos! To encourage others to dig deeper. The truth is there are many canons and the ones the Met cited in his video are also excluding the interpretations by the saints such as what you’ll find in the rudder. According to Apostolic 46 and 50 (if I remember the numbering correctly), baptism is the norm. The other “forms” are for emergencies and restrictions of an absolute physical nature.

       @living_orthodox I understand and thank you for taking the time to respond to my comment Fr Mikhail.
      I do have a question though about something else Metropolitan Jonah has stated. Some Priests have claimed in videos that a person baptised in an emergency by an Orthodox Christian (not Clergy) should be correctively baptised later on by a Priest if they survive the emergency situation. If I recall correctly, Metropolitan Jonah said this is not the case as it violates the Creed. Would that be correct or not?

What of the monks who when they ascend the various levels of the schema change name? I would say given the fact that what he suggests is not the normative practice of the Church throughout the ages, it is safe to assume this is his opinion upon which is no binding authority.

I have felt the demins sieze up and seem to die from fasting. They are more like autorobotics than terrible monsters. Nothing wrong with wanting an Orthodox baptism. Technically it isn’t a corrective baptism if a convert is received by baptism regardless of past churches they’re affiliated with. This term more so applies to those who are baptized after reception via Chrismation (given that the presuppositions for this according to the canons are not fulfilled by most heterodox confessions). Technically this can apply to the Monophysites, however in my experience I can say I baptize converts from them regardless. In my dioceses we baptize everyone.

      I never received a baptism with full immersion because my parish didn'thave vessels for that, and even though I understand my baptism to be valid, the explanations I have heard from priests like Fr Heers for full immersion made me consider another baptismal ceremony when I move to Iași later this year, as I heard is sometimes done.
      What I don't understand is why there seem to be people objecting against baptisms or repeated baptisms.
      Can one get "oberbaptized" or is it just because clerics don't want to offend people who entered via chrismation or is there yet another reason?

Is this the only way the tagalakia can enter us when we leave no room for Christ to enter our hearts so we start putting our way of life into evil sources where then we give the chance for the tagalakia to enter us. And the main way to defend ourselves is to be an active member in the Church Inside and at home. will there be no chance they can enter us then? Sorry I refer to it as tagalakia.

      Bring it up with him. There is no reason why you shouldn’t be allowed to be baptized. Be respectful and humble, but present what the saints say about this. St Iakovos was approached by an aspiring convert from Catholicism. His parish intended to Chrismate him because the local synod claimed his baptism was “valid”. St Iakovos said: “I don’t know what the synod has decided, but I know my Lord has commanded that we baptize.” That is what he did regardless.

      @@georgeagorastos7181 I am well aware. There is right way to approach things. First, one gives the chance for the priest to do the right thing. If that fails then he should go to ROCOR

    Father bless. Is it proper to read St Basils exorcism prayer out loud as a way of "preventative medicine" or as a way of exposing demonic activity?

      No. Especially if one isn’t a priest.

    If the Roman Catholic Church is outside the Body of Christ and it’s sacraments are void of Grace then where do their Priests get their power to successfully perform thousands of exorcisms?

    • @living_orthodox
      @living_orthodox  10 месяцев назад +2

      You assume they’re successful. Also prayers can be answered by Gos regardless. It isn’t a sign of holiness. In one of the lives the saints, a prostitute overcome with sadness for a mother who lost her child, prayed to God and He rose the child from the dead. God can help, but the demons can also deceive. There are certain methodologies and tools the RCC employs in exorcism which isn’t only a departure from the ancient services, but dangerous.

      @@living_orthodox thank you. If there are thousands of people delivered by RCC exorcists then they must have Grace.

      @@vigilantchristian6314 that’s what they claim. It’s doubtful and no. It doesn’t mean they have grace. That’s a confused Ecclesiology. Christ has one bride and it isn’t the innovationist RCC. He’s not a polygamist
