Being an original orthodox Christian following the traditional values I know that all priests have the authority to be exorcists. The priest needs to be holy living a true orthodox humble life by fasting and praying and this would be enough to perform exorcisms. The demon is afraid of the relics and the holy father. Demons know perfectly well which priest is lazy or not practicing what they are preaching and give these priests difficulty in removing them.
Any born again Christian can cast out demons in Jesus name. Jesus told us so! Exorcisms are unbiblical. It does not take multiple times to get a demon out. These are being fooled or they are deliberately letting the person suffer all those months. Go to a Pentecostal church and get delivered from demons by baptism in water and the holy Spirit and laying of hands. All sin lets demons have access. If you resent someone you are manifesting demons.
Mutual respect is due. I love this liturgy. As well as the Ukrainian Orthodox. Very beautiful prayers. Much appreciated. Attended prayers of Orthodox in English and loved them. Sang along with no trouble. So happy to experience these liturgies.
@@christineplaton3048 Basically, if you have no problem with mixed christian religions: Eastern Orthodoxy?, with the heretic part of the newly Ukrainian orthodox Church (?) and Catholicism, you are a part of a new Christian cult called Ecumenism, therefore you are an ecumenist. Mutual respect is one thing, and love is one thing, but mixing Church dogmas is something else. We don't practice that because those splits were/ are inspired from the devil.
I had three formal exorcisms as a catechumen before my baptism by my SF, a priest at a women’s monastery of Elder Ephraim. My background included 12 years in a Hindu cult…
I’m very moved by this priest’s words and work. May the Lord help us all …especially clergy….to follow his example of combatting the evil one and of compassion for our neighbors who are suffering from demonism. Every Orthodox priest should take this spiritual battle more seriously. The sacrament of holy confession should be much more emphasized and encouraged. Great Vesoers should be offered every Saturday in every Orthodox parish, preceded and followed by the hearing of confessions. Our time for repentance has come. The battle is at hand. Let’s fight. Christ is risen!
He has encountered demons but exorcisms are not biblical. Jesus told us to cast out demons in his name when we are born again and given an new heart of flesh. It takes all of 5 seconds and lives are transformed. Demons are cast out and addictions removed. Anxiety attacks are cured. Cancers get cured even! You should never ever fear evil or anything of this world. Our only fear should be from separation from God by our sin. I am not saying this man does not love God but he has been misled with false teachings and trying to figure it out on huis own without scripture. No demon can make you laugh with real joy like the holy Spirit can. Look at the alter and challis is idolatry and will keep the demon for the full 75 or whatever sessions. This guy is fooled and dangerous.
The Jesus Prayer burns the demons. Good to keep some Holy Water and blessed oil around, as well as icons and the Holy 'Cross. Also, Theophany and house blessings include some kind of prayers against demons.
Theophany is the celebration of the baptism of Christ also known as Epiphany in Western Christianity. During the feast, there is a Blessing of the Waters service and distribution of Holy Water. Known as Theophany because it was when the Father, Son and Holy Spirit manifested through the Father announcing "This is My beloved Son" and the Holy Spirit appeared like a dove descended upon Jesus Christ, the Son. @@prayunceasingly2029
@@prayunceasingly2029 The feast of Baptism of the Lord. Each year, it's commendable to ask the priest to bless your home in the period of this feast. It's harder to get in the Roman Catholic Church, but there are some priests who know how to do the theophany blessing.
I am one of the few Orthodox guys I know who listens Fr. Carlos' podcast and its incredible. Fr. Nectarios NEEDS to be on an episode. He'd be fantastic.
Casting out evil spirits is an act of love performed by an appointed and anointed servant of God based on the instruction the Son of God gave us in Matthew 10:8. "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons," sayeth the Lord. So, we go and do that. It is not the gardener's job to dispute the instruction the employer gave him. No. His job is to go and do what needs to be done. He has the tools. Does he have the will? Now that is the real question. The demons recognize an appointed and anointed servant immediately. They cannot dispute the fact, they cannot deny the fact. And they are well aware of the power that comes through the servant. The light that comes through the servant. But, will the servant do what needs to be done?
Not keen on the notion of celebrity exorcists. The reason why Catholicism needs to designate special clergy to the role of exorcists is because they have forgotten the basics of exorcism. It is a bit like relying on doctors for your health but always eating bad food and never exercising. It is a form of clericism. OK there are some serious cases of possession which need the priesthood, but we ourselves can do so much through the Jesus prayer and having the praise of God in our hearts, keeping our homes clean and our eyes away from curiosity. Much more should be done about the 'spiritual hygiene' of the faithful and less on the glamour of the exorcist; this is the Orthodox way.
@@PodvigAmerica that's because orthodox exorcists are not celebrities. Its also not a technique either, I never heard of such notions, as an orthodox, its all about the power of the priest and that comes from his own spiritual growth. That's why usually the monk priests do exorcisms because of their highly spiritual life and divine powers they achieve.
It’s always saddening when the faithful of one denomination attempts to put down another, especially when Christ did not discriminate against the Gentiles or Jews and has actively told us to “love others as you would love yourself”. 😔 We shouldn’t be focusing on who is better and as Father Trevino has said in this interview, we should turn our eyes only to Christ! If we listened closely to this interview, Fr Trevino had mentioned that he had learnt the rite of exorcism from the honorable Catholic Fr Gabriel Amorth. He is also close friends and has a deep respect for Fr Carlos Martins, who is publicly sharing exorcism to help educate people of these times on the dangers of the occult and the power of Christ triumphs all evil! No priest himself has the power himself to exorcise a demon. It is through the Blood of Christ, that any priest has the ability to provide deliverance 🩸 Man himself is weak but in God, do we gain strength by His grace!

Dr. Marshall. Just started following you here. I like your style. I have been concerned about statements made by our Pope. Pope Benedict said” there will come a time when right is portrayed as being wrong and wrong being portrayed as right. We’re eyeball deep in that now. Staying grounded and grateful in the Lord Jesus is our only hope. Took me 4 years to finally find a Catholic Church where I feel at home and at peace. St. Rita in San Diego. Receiving the BLESSES SACRAMENT is as good as it gets here on earth. Peace, HJ.
maybe you should keep looking. It's not the Pope Benedict who said that initially, but the Early Holy Fathers. You can read about them in the History of Eastern Orthodoxy and would be useful to study about Eastern Orthodoxy, too to find more about home. May God bless.
Our Lord asked Peter three times whether he LOVES Him, not whether he likes Him. There is a huge difference. Thank you for this very interesting interview
Yes, I stand corrected. Jesus did ask “agape” - love. Peter answered “philO” = “fond.” This is a good site for all www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/NTpdf/joh21.pdf
@@PETERJOHN101 It wasn't a misquote. Couldn't be. A theologian, a priest, cannot forget or make an honest mistake in this. Really. It's intentional. My word. I've seen this before. Demons influence people to twist Christ's word. They're infamous for just that.
@@northwestdestiny1388 right? I have heard Demons misquote the Holy Scripture to me and to others. They truly do that, and love doing that. I am a Roman Catholic checking out this interview because I just heard Archpriest Trevino on The Exorcist Files podcast. He seems like an extremely holy and wise man. The story he tells for the first half of the episode is intriguing. I recommend that everyone listens to it.
It is unbiblical. We cast out demons all day without any issue or 75 sessions. Jesus told us how to do it in his name, He commanded we do it in his name! All saints and all born again believers are saints.
I get so tired of people lifting themselves up by putting others down. (Referring to the comments, not the video). "Lord, I thank you that I am not like that sinner over there." Some of y'all need to check yourselves.
Very happy to hear this acknowledged as a pastoral crisis, as I was born into a multigenerational occult family and converted to Orthodox. I feel perhaps I might be making progress but it’s been isolating. There’s nobody to walk with you who understands. This priest here really gets it… your identity was formed by something evil and you do your best to give that up, and basically have no identity nor know who you are. Some of the worst spiritual oppression I have experienced has come at me since I became Orthodox, and in trying to understand and find my way through, have felt misunderstood, like a burden, like a weirdo. And I don’t think my feeling this way is a result of ill will, rather of a lack of training and knowledge.
I’m so sorry you experienced such misunderstanding. You are very correct, there needs to be more instruction for priests on this. There is some truly wild phenomena that can occur to even the most simple of person who didn’t even get that “deep” into the occult for long. The New Age is so common nowadays and repenting from that can cause quite the stir in the spiritual realm. I believe you, fully. I hope you can forgive those who lack the knowledge and validating responses. God bless you on your journey. Those demonic forces don’t stand a chance against Christ. Cling to Him!
I am Catholic, but I love our Orthodox brothers and sisters very much. You guys are great! And nectarios is a very good and humble man. God bless you all.
Orthodoxy is structured in such a way that it behaves like a time capsule for Christianity. It cannot be corrupted like Catholicism because it doesn't have a single point of failure. It's decentralized and focusses on correct worship
Not All do not kid yourself son. ONE world religion /Ecumenism could be a heresy some are for it and some against it. Also there is a not good Group of Orthodoxy in USA who accepted money from the Gov to push vaccines and close the churches and is also pushing the communist Global Climate change agenda. 4 or 5 Christian denominations have been caught with proof and one to my disappointment was an American Orthodox division. Check it out I cannot remember the Patriarch but my church in Canada was not tied to them. Look what is going on with the church over the Russia/Ukraine conflict. Also Masons are involved with more than a few. Always some good and some bad in life

Ive been listening to orthodox and catholic priests that actually deal with the subject. Vince Lampert and Chad Ripperger are two others. Check out US Grace Force. That will open up to others
Since he learned about it with Fr. Gabrielle Amorth and recomends the podcast of Fr. Carlos, I assume that Fr. Gabrielle's book are good to read. I've read some of them when I was a roman catholic, and "The Last Exorcist" is a great book.

People! John 21:15-17: Our Savior asked Simon Peter three times: "Do you LOVE me?" NOT: "Do you LIKE me?" Dreher didn't even comment on this major misquote and I see only one other commentor who seems to have noticed this bizarre distortion of a very well known quote from Jesus Christ himself. Love vs like? No small difference. What's going on here? Creeps me out.
The question has been answered earlier. Jesus said do you love (agape) me. Peter answered I am fond (philOs) of you. The misquote was acknowledged. The apology given. The truth stands for itself. Do homework and you won’t be creeped out.
How can Roman Catholics teach about exorcism when they don't have or believe in uncreated grace? They're trying to cast out demons with created grace. The demons will just laugh at them. I'm glad for this Father, but going to the Catholics? I don't understand that.
Demons are cast out in the name of Jesus and by the power of his blood, which overcame the demons at the Cross. Many Christians have cast out demons, not just the Orthodox. Granted, there are leaders in the Word-Faith movement, the NAR, who are frauds, I'm talking about genuine Christians. Some frauds in the last day will say, according to scripture, did we not cast out demons "in your name" . . . But real Christians also cast out demons in Christ's name. Those 2 keys - in his name and by the power of his blood, which has already conquered the demons, but we still must fight against them. I'm talking about deliverance, not possessed and in need of an actual exorcism, generally.
There was a group, out of St. Tikhon's Monastery and Seminary and OCA, that was working on "ritualizing" Exorcism Prayers and Processes. Some of those Clerics have died, now, but the group started its work. They were communicating with Roman Catholic Exorcists, officially, too. This Is Very Important! This Work Is Urgent! Spiritual Combat Is NOW and Very Real! It is probably important to carefully review some R.C. materials to see if these could be very valuable! ...Even if it's from R.C. Saints...God is the Giver of Real Holiness; God Gives It...We Don't Earn It....
We already have all the answers. We lay hands and we cast out demons in Jesus name. It is very simple. It tales one session only every time. The person must be anointed in the Holy Spirit by repentance of all sins of the heart before trying to cast out a demon. It must be done biblically in Jesus name. Not an exorcism. A demon can not posses what belongs to God and that is all of us. We can be demonized and oppressed and demons can manifest into us if we let them with unrepented sin. This is not possession.
While I do not know if he went to their seminary, he was ordained by and originally served in the Carpatho-Russian jurisdiction. Their Bishop is in Johnstown PA.
Lets, but the coming together cannot take place, That's why the First Church split in the first place. But people are always welcomed to study and dig into truth and find and join the Eastern Orthodox Church. Once you find it, join it and keep it unchanged. All the innovations and mixing with other Christian cults will only enlarge the already split Catholic church, blooming into ecumenism. And Ecumenism is not the way... :-(
Father why did'nt you go to Mt. Athos or to one of the several Orthodox Christian monasteries of Elder Ephraim of blessed memory in the USA to discuss the issue of demonic possession and how to combat evil in the world? I am sure they are better equipped than the clergy of the Vatican in this matter
That’s is my question as well . Exorcism exists in the Orthodox Church . Mt Athos would be the place to go , I would assume . Having been trained / taught by the Catholics gives me pause . There are critical theological differences that sadly separate us . We must be wise as serpents and meek as doves . Lord lead the way 🙏🙏
@@stellajacovides9676a house divided against itself can not stand. The Catholics have a long and successful history of casting out Satan. God clearly has granted the Catholics the authority to do that work.
True! St David of Evia and St Jacovus drove demons out in one session. Why does this Priest need 75 sessions per person. And yes, why did he learn from the Pope’s exorcist?
I've seen two UFOs. One was with a group in broad daylight. The second was years later at night and I was alone. The first one floated down our street and looked like a ball of mercury about 1 foot in diameter, maybe 20-30 feet off the ground. I can only describe it as a mirror polished ball bearing. It was perfectly round and shiny silver. It floated in front of my house and stopped for a moment then floated away off towards a field behind a tree line. The second, I was up late at night and heard what sounded like a low flying 747 and the house shook. I ran to the window to see and lo and behold, a large black triangle that was enormous, I can say how high it was flying...maybe 1000 feet. It had 5 large circlular lights on it and it flew over my house and up over a hill out of view. I saw it for maybe 15 seconds. I've seen plenty of odd lights in the sky but only two have I ever witnessed in detail. I would have to agree, there is something demonic about them.
I believe that the ufo phenomenon is demons or spirits trying to gain our attention. To take our attention away from God and captivate the attention in the occult stuff
Are Demons ... and just like humans they can disguise themselves into what ever shape or form they want ... you are not the only one when I was I think 10 maybe 11 years old one passed in close proximity from my house it was a warm summer evening it was round and had big red and green lights flickering around it.

In recent months I've been turned onto the subject and practice of spiritual warfare, i.e. praying against evil spirits and/or demons or influence of such in my life or praying for someone else or against such evil in general and it seems like whenever I engage in such a session, especially if it's a heartfelt and powerful one, it seems like something troublesome occurs in my life or in the life of someone I prayed for. Sometimes I experience deep feelings of depression and melancholy. I'm wondering if I'm receiving some kind of retaliation for performing prayers against demons and evil spirits, or if I'm doing something wrong. Anyone have any ideas or answers as to what I may be experiencing?
Nope. You are perfectly fine... what happens with the prayers (and/or any other practice we use to glorify God) we appear on the radar of the evil spirits and they react by trying to disrupt us. That is where spiritual battle begins and that is where some advices of the spiritual father are helpful. Rhythm of fasting, prayers, liturgies, confessions, communion, control of the thoughts, etc. is of the essence. (2 Cor 4, 16) "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day." God bless.!
I'm "in the same boat". I started praying the prayers of the Auxillium Christianorum about 1 year ago. I have also been making a REAL effort at fasting for the first time in my life. It's a roller coaster ride for me also. Deep foreboding and worry for my kids comes in waves. I think it's a sign that I'm making progress in the spiritual life.....slight progress.
And fasting, forget not about fasting. Not joking. Acts 13,2 or Acts 14,23. There is a reason for that, the Holy Apostles implore us towards fasting, and were an example for us.
It might be a good idea to listen to the videos by Monsignor Rosetti. He advises about which prayers the laity can use within their authority. You might be stepping outside of your authority, and as described in this interview demons are legalistic. If you step outside of your authority (your body, your home, your children), you might see a repercussion. Hope this helps. God Bless ❤
Please see the document which was ratified by the Russian Orthodox Church in the year 2000. It's called: "Basic Principles of the Attitude of the Russian Orthodox Church Toward the Other Christian Confessions": orthodoxeurope.org/page/7/5/1.aspx For instance, it says the following: "1.15. The Orthodox Church, through the mouths of the holy fathers, affirms that salvation can be attained only in the Church of Christ. At the same time however, communities which have fallen away from Orthodoxy have never been viewed as fully deprived of the grace of God. Any break from communion with the Church inevitably leads to an erosion of her grace-filled life, but not always to its complete loss in these separated communities. This is why the Orthodox Church does not receive those coming to her from non-Orthodox communities only through the Sacrament of Baptism. In spite of the rupture of unity, there remains a certain incomplete fellowship which serves as the pledge of a return to unity in the Church, to catholic fullness and oneness. [...] 1.17. The existence of various rites of reception (through Baptism, through Chrismation, through Repentance) shows that the Orthodox Church relates to the different non-Orthodox confessions in different ways. The criterion is the degree to which the faith and order of the Church, as well as the norms of Christian spiritual life, are preserved in a particular confession. By establishing various rites of reception, however, the Orthodox Church does not assess the extent to which grace-filled life has either been preserved intact or distorted in a non-Orthodox confession, considering this to be a mystery of God's providence and judgement."
@@championphilip While I do agree with the official statement, I do not understand why did Fr. Nectarios have to train at Rome instead of Mount Athos for example. It would be awesome if he stated his reason, I personally think it's necessary to make things clear.

As a protestant minister who was working with many in West Africa who were practicing occultist even within the church, I was greatly attacked and then something significant changed in me. Interesting to hear the faithful should be cared about. Never had this level of concern in Catholic Church. I thought Peter was asked if he Loved Our Lord.
I'm not sure that I agree with the concept of ritualization as being something that ALWAYS crosses the line. Ritualization is an inherent aspect of our reality and something that was clearly imbedded into for the purpose of our usage. Ritualization does not mean calling upon demonic powers (although it can). The Mass is a ritual, The Jesus Prayer is a ritual, getting up at the same time everyday is a ritual. Successful people are successful because they have rituals that they utilize in their daily lives. More commentary on this would be appreciated.
I appreciate what you’re stating. I am referring to “ritual” in the religious or spiritual sense: a religious or solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order - "the role of ritual in religion."

Still the same old divisions, the same stale name-calling… as an enquirer into Orthodoxy this is one of the most depressing aspects of what I’m discovering: the petty tribalism. Maybe, just maybe, someone outside one’s own tribe might know more…. Can one open to that as at least a possibility? There’s no time left for this sterile name-calling any more. The times are desperate, division and misery is everywhere. Christians need to do all they can to heal their divisions and support each other - and genuinely appreciate when others have developed something better or deeper than their tribe might have done.

@@apbls Really? Care to prove it? Because, the Roman Catholic schools themselves teach something quite different... Namely, a set of bishops from 11 countries arrived and unanimously voted on the question of the Canon of the Holy Bible in AD 382 at the Council of Rome. The Bishop of Rome was there all right, yes, but he is recorded as having one vote, just like every other local bishop that arrived for the holy council. Good thing they were unanimous, though. And so the Holy Bible List of Books and Letters was canonized, authorized and promulgated (promoted). The exact words, if you care to go into such ancient history, are "We, the Holy Council..." and signatures of the bishops.

Thank you Preacher for your carring the truths and keeping it real, it is so easy to get turned around. The way they blastfiend in the media. Taking our Lord's name as a swear word. The people get used to this introduction of evil. Satin has a plan. Thank you sincerely for your carring and strength I enjoyed your video. I would enjoy hearing a sermon do you have a website?
I am charismatic Chrsitan and I feel like God has been calling me for long time to get into deliverance. This world is full of demonic influence. Enough is enough. Lets do some damage to the kingdom of darnkness in Jesus mighty name. Lets see Jesus glorified.
Here is the thing only half of what he says is truth. Everything must be backed up by the Bible and this is the problem I have with most a Christian religion
Thank you for showing respect to Gabriel Amorth and priest that are Catholic and mentored you.

I know Father Trevino personally and he is the "real deal" in terms of exorcists. He has shared with us many stories of battling evil in his ministry.
Very interesting. Thank you both for ministry, and also thank you Fr. for your service.
Glory to Jesus Christ, who trampled down death by death!

It takes great faith and guts to do what this man does. God protect him.
The Jesus Prayer burns the demons. Good to keep some Holy Water and blessed oil around, as well as icons and the Holy 'Cross. Also, Theophany and house blessings include some kind of prayers against demons.
I have a copy of a page from the book of Kells of the four angels. Is that considered an icon?
What is theophany? I thought theophanies are God's appearance in scripture?
Theophany is the celebration of the baptism of Christ also known as Epiphany in Western Christianity. During the feast, there is a Blessing of the Waters service and distribution of Holy Water. Known as Theophany because it was when the Father, Son and Holy Spirit manifested through the Father announcing "This is My beloved Son" and the Holy Spirit appeared like a dove descended upon Jesus Christ, the Son. @@prayunceasingly2029

Excellent. Minor addition: it’s all about the will of Jesus; His Name the demons cannot withstand.
Don’t know of any celebrity Orthodox exorcists. It’s the first time I’ve seen this guy on RUclips.
There are many excellent Catholic Exorcists. More are speaking out to combat and bring awareness to the growing demonic issues in the world today.

@@northwestdestiny1388 right? I have heard Demons misquote the Holy Scripture to me and to others. They truly do that, and love doing that.
The first two times Jesus does ask Peter if he loves him. The third time he uses a different Greek word that could be translated "like."
Thank you for this conversation. Yes, our seminaries need to teach these skills to our future priests and others.
The Devil wants to keep the Orthodox away from the Catholic Church. Pax.
Apostolicity.
In the Catholic Church, we have the living Christ.
What seminary did Fr. Nectarios graduate from?
While I do not know if he went to their seminary, he was ordained by and originally served in the Carpatho-Russian jurisdiction. Their Bishop is in Johnstown PA.
Lets pray for all priests, bishops and pastors. Its time all Christians come together to combat the enemy
Only in the Truth of the Confession of Faith.Ecumenism is inadmissible.
YES, THAT WILL BE BEAUTIFUL❤❤❤
Lets, but the coming together cannot take place, That's why the First Church split in the first place. But people are always welcomed to study and dig into truth and find and join the Eastern Orthodox Church. Once you find it, join it and keep it unchanged. All the innovations and mixing with other Christian cults will only enlarge the already split Catholic church, blooming into ecumenism. And Ecumenism is not the way... :-(
Rods position is too casual. Sorry, but I immediately noticed how he was sitting in from a priest.

They're probably the spirits of the air that Saint Apostle Paul talks about.
I believe that the ufo phenomenon is demons or spirits trying to gain our attention. To take our attention away from God and captivate the attention in the occult stuff

God Bless ❤

I’d be more than a little wary about learning exorcism from people who do not posses The Holy Spirit or valid Sacraments.
Please see the document which was ratified by the Russian Orthodox Church in the year 2000. It's called: "Basic Principles of the Attitude of the Russian Orthodox Church Toward the Other Christian Confessions": orthodoxeurope.org/page/7/5/1.aspx
For instance, it says the following:
[...]

Re UFO: these are real and it is a very complex problem. The summoning is steven greer s ce5 protocol, not sure it works...
The Holy Apostles were ritualistic. All of them performed rites. Every. Single. One. Christ abided by rites, clearly. Gospels are the proof of that.
Hearing an Orthodox priest say he went to the Vatican to learn about exorcism makes me extremely uncomfortable!!! We have everything we need in the church, why go to schismatics to learn? This is highly suspicious, Lord have mercy
Obviously not.
You have no idea what you’re afraid of except your our biases. You have no idea what an exorcism consists of yet you critique. You have no idea of the prayers said, yet you throw stones. The priest said “we have all the tools” yet you listen not. You echo bigotry well.
@@PodvigAmerica How do you know what I know and don't know? =) Since we have all the tools, why go to Rome?
Right? What would St Gregory Palamas say? A great exorcist himself. Or, St John of Kronstadt. Same thing. Or, St Ivan Maximovich. Same thing here.
@@milankucera1148 Yup, and we have plenty of modern saints too (from Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Georgia....) that were very good exorcists, they never asked Rome what to do!!! It's just insane to say there is not enough in Orthodoxy, but even more insane to go to a schismatic for 'knowledge'. Lord have mercy on us
Great! I learned a lot! Thank you both for this conversation.
34:49 Just like Genesis and the Book of Enoch. Giving mankind tech that they know mankind is not ready for. Like giving a hammer to a baby. As it was in the days of Noah...
Every priest is an exorcist.
In the Catholic Church a priest cannot volunteer to become an exorcist. Only his Bishop has the authority to appoint him to be an exorcist.
@@irenemeerman Everyone who joins the Orthodox Church is exorcised by an Orthodox Priest.
Every Orthodox Christian is an exorcist. Whenever we pray, fast, confess, commune, etc. we are repelling evil spirits away from us.
@@irenemeerman True, but there are exorcism prayers during certain liturgies, baptisms, confirmations, anointing of the sick, that Priests perform.
Authority does play a big role in these matters ( the "legalism" discussed above).
The Catholic Church has performed exorcism from the beginning of the Church, Rome has always had an exorcist. In the US a new College was opened to train Catholic priest exorcists. Catholic priest exorcists receive thousands of requests for exorcism annually.
Thank you for the interview! I wonder why the roman catholic preists have exorsist powers in the spiritual realm? And why is Orthodox Priests learn from them? And can roman catholic relics be Holy? Somebody who knows? God bless you
Responding as a Lutheran. It may be because the Church of Christ extends beyond the man made boundaries we put on it? That there are sincere believers with the faith to battle demons even in other ecclesiastical bodies?
@@grettirasmundarson9980 as an Orthodox I believe youre right in that sincere faith and grace extends outside of the Orthodox Church. I think that's pretty evident in our day-to-day lives. but that isnt to say that the Church extends outside of herself, that wouldnt make sense.
I think the Roman Catholic Church focuses more on exorcism than the Orthodox Church.
The Holy Spirit acts outside the Church and the Roman Catholics have many relics of Pre Schism Saints.
@@yecksd you're right but he didn't say the Church extends outside itself. Lumen Gentium from Vatican II Well explains that sanctification and grace can exist outside the legal and visible bounds of the Church while still properly belonging to the One Church :This is the one Church of Christ which in the Creed is professed as one, holy, catholic and apostolic, (12*) which our Saviour, after His Resurrection, commissioned Peter to shepherd,(74) and him and the other apostles to extend and direct with authority,(75) which He erected for all ages as "the pillar and mainstay of the truth".(76) This Church constituted and organized in the world as a society, subsists in the Catholic Church, which is governed by the successor of Peter and by the Bishops in communion with him,(13*) although many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside of its visible structure. These elements, as gifts belonging to the Church of Christ, are forces impelling toward catholic unity.

What do you think about lay people performing perimeter prayers in their community? A Greek Orthodoxy member named Chris Cornell Sr. who was an influential rock icon committed suicide in a city that worships Baphomet regularly. We'd let the world experience the world without diabolical things this way right?
Our priest does spiritual cleansing of homes. He always calls another Orthodox priest, even an inexperienced one, to accompany him in the prayers, as “where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Mt 18:20) And, no, he never went to the graceless Church of Rome to learn it.

‼️ TALK ABOUT TAKING THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST OUT OF CONTEXT ‼️ PETER DO YOU LIKE ME❓‼️ THATS NOT WHAT JESUS ASKED PETER INFACT JOHN 21:15-17 "JESUS ASKED HIM THREE TIMES - PETER DO YOU LOVE ME & PETER REPLIES YES LORD YOU KNOW EVERYTHING, YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU SO JESUS REPLIES "FEED MY SHEEP(LAMBS)" ALSO HE STATES SATAN WANTS TO SIFT YOU LIKE WHEAT - BUT THE BIBLE STATES NOTHING OF THE SORT AS TO THE REASON WHY JESUS ASKED PETER "PETER DO YOU LOVE ME" READ CHAPTER JOHN 21 FOR YOURSELF.
I’d really like to know more on his opinions of homeopathy and its ritualization. I know a lot of people depend on it but it has always seemed to be placebo and has a weird new age component to it. I can’t take it seriously and more than allopathic remedies.

Orthodox are amazing. Much love from a Catholic
The sign of cross is very effective against the devils. The Jesus prayer is very effective against the devils
The cross and Jesus prayers are deprecatory prayers. An exorcism prayer is an imprecatory prayer. If you don’t know the difference, you don’t know what you are doing and have no basis for your comment.
So Buddy Christ is a real person. Hmm, neat!
Thank you for this interview
why does it take 1.5 years for him to cast out demons from a person ?
When the evening was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick (...) And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
Mat8:16 > < Mrk1:27
This is very similar to what Fr. Vincent Lampert says too.
humans are portals, either a portal of demons or a portal of the holy spirit.
this video would have been useful exactly one week ago
My parents attended Orthodox DL but did not seek Chrismation having been already Confirmed. Dad even made a model of the Iconostasis the parish was fund raising for. Despite this they were counseled to seek a Catholic parish. Later found that Orthodox community split from a Ukrainian Catholic Parish over divorce and remarriage. That Catholic parish saved my mother’s soul and they were buried in Union with Peter. Pray the same for all the baptized.
I suggest to visit and be advised by the priests and monks at the Holy Mountain in North Greece. Exorcism is very serious and not all the priests are capable to do it. Only holy man can do it. Take confession and communion as much as you can. These are our powers and the holy cross and our prayers to our lord Jesus Christ.
So, these guys are lapsed Catholics, "converted" to a heresy... in order to find God?
Catholicism is from the devil
34:45 that explains why software is such a low bar profession with stupid bugs that make no sense even though it’s 2024, you’d think we’d be making functioning technology.
I am sorry I seem to have a misunderstanding father are you saying you went to the HERETICS to learn about spiritual matter ??? And also accepting and getting a blessing from a catholic priest why? Why do you accept heretics and their teachings as an orthodox priest. If you can please answer I would like to hear it out.
Please see reply below to Mr. Wesford.
Yes, that is wrong on so many levels. A spit in the face of St John of Kronstadt and St. Tikhon of Moscow. He is a pseudo-orthodox. Basically a Uniate, by his own admission.
You guys literally branched off from the Roman Catholic Church after rejecting the pope and the Roman church’s Western traditions. It’s all about preserving your eastern culture with you guys. If you actually want to find the authentic church that Christ founded, the church He asked St Peter to lead as the first pope, then your road will ultimately lead back to Rome. All roads lead to Rome.
Live in Columbus. The church is amazing, right at the bottom of the Short North.
Thank You Thank You Thank You ! A much needed conversation !
Thank you.
to Lindamorgan - did Jesus found a Church or churches? What i said is 100% true but you don’t like that. Bye attacking me you also attack Jesus Christ.
So glad I found you! I have enjoyed your writing and am thrilled you have a show !
i grow up in east Europe and the prist there have lot of respect from people , God is good
The day I got saved was shortly after I learned about demons and they were in me can I use the name of Jesus to expel them from me mind binding spirits and another Spirit but I couldn't get it but the Lord took it out of my back and so on and so forth and now I'm not bothered by them right and the minutes something doesn't seem correct in my spirit, if I'm feeling ill ,I'll go after spirit before I take a Tylenol
Weird that when asked, he didn’t come up with an example of demonic legalism, but trailed off onto another topic.
14:21 Monarchical
I am charismatic Chrsitan and I feel like God has been calling me for long time to get into deliverance. This world is full of demonic influence. Enough is enough. Lets do some damage to the kingdom of darnkness in Jesus mighty name. Lets see Jesus glorified.
Heavens gate cult
Here is the thing only half of what he says is truth. Everything must be backed up by the Bible and this is the problem I have with most a Christian religion
He must be citing some external source because that dialogue between Peter and Jesus never happens in the Bible.
I read books and did listen so many interviewes of the late father Armorth, he had also great sense of humour. Bless his soul.
is it because of dispensationalism evil teachings related to westcott and hort false demon teachings versus the catholic and orthodox church?
