The problem with Wallis Simpson wasn't just that she was twice divorced, but that she was the mistress of several men, some of them prominent Nazis. Edward was himself a Nazi sympathiser and so the abdication over the floozy actually saved us from going into WWII with a King who supported Hitler. His brother was a hero and we were lucky to have him.

She didn't have 17 children, she was PREGNANT 17 times. Think about it.

It was fun wasn't it? I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Each of the events described here does actually make sense in the context of the times in which they happened.
Really interesting history is, of course, a lot more than a list of kings. For those of you in the U.S. (and the Americas in general) it would be nice to see some description of the political and economic relations of the European powers (Holland, Britain, France and Spain) in the period of colonisation in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The reason video starts at year 1066 is probably because before 1066 it was ruled by viking kings and sons of them, so it was actually danish and that's an entire different royal family.

Err no. The Danes Vikings) invaded but were fought off (eventually) by Alfred the Great, King of Wessex. England was united under Alfred's grandson, Athelstan but the Danes came back a few generations later and took over the whole country However, by 1066 the country was back under the control of one of Athelstan's descendents, King Edward the Confessor. He had no children and no clear successor. The English nobles chose a guy called Harold as King but William had a claim because one of his ancestors had married a princess of the House of Wessex. He invaded, fought Harold at the Battle of Hastings and won. God save King William!
Again this summary ignores a lot of complexity but covers the basics.

In my opinion the videos of "Useful charts" are not as complicated and confusing as this one.
Maybe you want ro react to "Useful Charts" one day?

I have always loved Royal family trees! I love the complications.
It's a pity this doesn't go before 1066, because William the Conqueror as much inherited the throne as conquered it. He defeated Harold II, who was a usurper, not from the Old English Royal line. William the Conqueror's wife was a descendant of King Alfred the Great, and his son Henry I married the niece of the last proper Old English prince. So there were previous monarchs of this family.
The details of the history are great fun, often reading more like Game of Thrones than anything else!

If you want to understand the whole War of the Roses, you could react to the documentary made by Kings and Generals (link: ruclips.net/video/Do7XBxUVJsE/видео.html) but it has around an hour so for a shorter version, another good explanation of this war was made by Feature history (link: ruclips.net/video/8usSAMpuSVI/видео.html) which is only 12 minutes long. I suggest those too videos because they're well explained and anything shorter is even more confusing than the video you watched here. And trust me, both videos can be quite confusing, I've been studying the War of the Roses for a year now and I'm starting to finally understand exactly who did what and remember more than half the people involved.
