I cringed when I saw the dirt falling off the valve cover when you were tapping it. why not blow everything clean with compressed air before you start?
Outstanding video! I was caught off guard by the cam lever and wasn't sure where to measure the gap. You did a great job explaining this procedure. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together. I've subscribed.
hi i recently sent my ktm 250 sxf 2009 away to have a new bottom end fitted but it came back and you cant not kick it ive tried towing it with a car anyway what could the issuse be cheers daz
my honda xr 150L intake tappet valve clearance is .08mm and exhaust is .12mm(standard).. i brought it back to my dealer for a tune up at 12k km odo. they adjust the intake to 0.10mm and ex 0.12mm . anny disadvantage for not following the standard clearance?
Eventually you could burn out a valve or worse. You'll definitely notice if your valves are out of adjustment. It'll either be hard starting or start pinging.
Not sure why it would smoke unless you'll getting a little oil leaking out around the o-ring and dropping onto the cylinder. Pop the vent tube back out and check the o-ring to ensure it's not damage. If it is (or isn't for that matter), take a bead of high-temp silicone around the ring and then place it back it. That should seal it up.
I perfectly understood the first feeler guage explanation so either I wasn't listening closely enough or I am starting to understand the Mario way of explaining things from watching too many of your videos but I did notice that your Back in the Garage video's are out of order since I didn't see the new fan you installed on the radiator on your last video. Nonetheless always entertaining.
LOL, "the Mario way of explaining things". Yeah, Back in the Garage vids aren't necessarily in chronological order. Sometimes they sit for a few months and I post them when I need to fill gaps between more timely uploads.

You're right. I was just crunched for time.

Thanks Daniel. Glad to hear it helped.
Lol holy cow man dirt falling all over the place . First step to everyone working on valves. Wash or carefully pressure wash your bike.
Just bought my first 4-stroke KtM. Great video!!
Enjoy it!
There are timing marks on the left side as well.
Where can I get that type of tool to get the spark plug?
The socket itself is just a normal socket with a universal and extension on it.

Hope ya took it back to the place ya had it done.
Do you check valve clearance between the cam lobe and cam lever or cam lever and shim any help would be great thanks
Cam lobe and cam lever
Would you get the same clearance if you measured between shim and cam lever?
Ya I had a chuckle when you said you can't fit a thinner one through. LOL
Sometimes you think you said the right thing...until you watch it back 😬
I do it all the time when posting.

Will make it easier to start and especially easier to start when hot
yes it is now easier to start.. but do you think ther will be no bad effect with the valves ?

shouldn't have any negative effect. How many miles did that plug have on it?
@@2WR only 100km. i bought i 2 weeks ago
If the valve clearance is out, what impact does it have to the bike? Is it something you notice while riding?

2 Wheeled Rider what do you mean pinging?
I need help that vent tube that comes out the valve cover mine smokes out of it after it runs for a while??

High oil level
Anyone know the specs for a
Kim 250 SXF 2014
Intake: .08-.15mm Exhaust .12-.19mm (we have a 2024 in the garage now but didn't make a video on it)
How many hours did you have when you checked this?
Good question....probably around 30 hours. I made a habit of checking them once a year.
will you work on my bike while its all muddy LMAO

How to dill your engine with sand and dirt..
Sir I have ktm rc 390 crank but not start
Pull the plug. If it's wet you're not getting any spark. If it's dry you're not getting any fuel. That's where I'd start.
Sholda cleaned that a lil mire man
good video tho
Tyty
👏🏍👍👌🇳🇴
I call bullshit, it takes a hour to get the plug out. Lol
Definitely does the first time you go to do it.
Yeah wtf that's the only reason I clicked the video. I cant get the boot out to replace the cover gasket
