    I worked with a professional carpenter who used Ryobi and he said that the amount of tools stolen from site, van break ins and just general tool breakages his view was that he could easily replace the tools and it wouldn’t bankrupt him

    Definitely a "Spark"....still a nice job!! Talking of tools I have read some of the other comments I was used to using Makita & Dewalt however I have started using the Einhell brand after working in Holland/Germany. My whole house and garden now run on that brand lawnmower, hedgetrimmers, hoover & combi drill, Rip Snorter, chop-saw etc etc. I still have all of my Makita and Dewalt tools but rarely use them. Einhell tools/batteries/chargers are a good price. Have a look I was surprised by the standard (tool snob me).

    Handy Tip: Before inserting the foam, drill 1-2 centimetre holes around the frame to allow air through for easing the foam in, can use some blank hole grommets to fill the holes after, 🤓💡

    I have a nice tool wall in my garage (peg board) and the one and only thing I can tell you about it is I change it every 2 weeks. Reason being is tools die, new tools added, tools break, tools get upgraded. One tool change and this wall is useless really or looks horrible with a dead spot in it. Sure it really looks good I have to be honest it looks so tidy and nice but practical... seems like a horrible waste of money! Just one person's opinion! I think the only way these things work is that they are cases for each tool set. IE you get a set of chisels you make a display box, you get a set of crescent wrenches. you make a display box. these are tools that tend not to change very often. but then You end up spending $200 on every set of tools you use.. which again you get into the category of seems like a waste of money when you could just hang them on a peg board

    I haven't looked if anyone else has mentioned this, the new bit holder is actually a drywall bit holder. This bit holder was designed to use on drywall or plasterboard to prevent the screwdriver bit ever going too deep. The heavy duty magnet was designed primarily for drywall applications to make sure the screw wasn't lost during installation.

    • @ShadowFoam
      @ShadowFoam  3 месяца назад

      Interesting to see new uses for it! 👍

    • @douglasreid699
      @douglasreid699 3 месяца назад

      yeah you are probably correct, you get flush fit bit holders for plaster board fitting, you also get sleave bit holders, the case extends over the screw so as you start to drive one handed the screw wiggle doesnt come of the bit as its enclosed, i have a ryobi one on my ryobi drill that i had for 6 or 7 years or more now, its just a bit rusty.
      the plaster board bit holder is good for small jobs or tidying screws up, if you can afford it, its far better to get an autofeed screw gun with the strips of screws for bigger jobs like putting a whole ceiling up, makes life so much more straight forward and quicker rather than screw by screw with the bit holder.

      I have no idea what tools you are basing this on but ryobi power tools are crap. It used to be great but not anymore. I have spent a fortune moving away from Ryobi after disappointment after disappointment. 3 cordless multitools all broke after at least 1 week the first broke after 10 mins use. i changed brand. not a single problem a year later with Dewalt. no power in the combi drill compaired to the Dewalt version. The ryobi would not put a 12mm speed bit through a floor joist the Dewalt smaller drill does it time after time without need even a batery change. The cordless angle griner. Anyone want it the biggest disapointment of all. the clutch omg constantly cuts out and is unusable. A week later I went out and bought the dewalt version, no probles at all. I then just started to replace everything more so because of the batterys are so expensive, by the way 4 chineese batterys still going strong, but only 2 of the 8 ryiobi baterys still working after a year. so yer tried and tested oh yer broke a impact driver and a combi drill from over use.

      @@davewilco822 definitely sounds like you’ve got some bad tools for sure. I based my comment as a general overview. The Ryobi brand being really great is for home owners and contractors who are not hard on their tools like an electrician or someone who rarely needs a tool and does not want to spend DeWalt prices for a tool he needs 12 times a year.

      @@davewilco822I have the same quality issues these days with Milwaukee and Bosch, especially Bosch batteries. They are really poor quality. The range of Parkside tools from Lidl have done surprisingly well for me as a heavy DIY user. They come with a 3 year warranty (DIY use only for the standard range) but I have never had to make use of the warranty yet. RUclipsr Dean Doherty did a piece on the Parkside SDS hammer drill I have for the first time and to say he was pleasantly surprised just how good even the DIY standard tool was is an understatement and his wife carries a lot of weight as a professional power tool service engineer. Came as no surprise to me. I have been slogging away with this £38 tool for the last five or six years and it has never let me down once. I have quite a range of their power tools and I can thoroughly recommend them.

      When they were in the blue, they were a good mid range amateurs tools. A pro would not use them but they were pretty good. The change to lime green brought a downturn in quality to appeal to the home DIYer. The batteries on the 18v range were rubbish. Milwaukee well over priced but good. Mikita is the next step up and the batteries last out well. Just my opinion.

    I’d like to build something similar to the tool panel, but on a smaller scale to hold my airbrushes for scale modelling and ancillaries to that in the utility room where my spraybooth is located
    My budget is limited as is my supply of tools,as I haven’t worked since covid and the NHS unfortunately crippled me when operating and I’m at this time, disabled.

    I don't spend big money on power tools. I buy most of my tools from VEVOR now bcos u get a decent deal from them. OK so they don't sell top brands but I bought a drill/Imp Driver set for 93 euros. They're brilliant and I've had them for 21/2 yrs now and they work really well. The driver is a powerful little unit. They're both brushless as well which helps.
    I love power tools btw but recently I've begun using more Hand Tools. Hand planes, chisels, saws, etc and I'm getting just as much enjoyment out of them as any power tools. Yeah the work takes a bit longer when using Hand Saws but I enjoy the heck out of it man..
    I see ur wall of Skill power tools but can u get one of the Skil Table saws in the UK?? I can't get one and was wondering if they're sold over there. In Ireland it's a nightmare to get these tools here just like RIGID as well..
    I wanted to get thye RIGID table saw with the Cast Iron table. It's a beast but to get it here is impossible unless u try and take a risk on EBAY and I'm not handing over a grand to somebody on EBAY so my hard earned cash can disappear.
    DEWALT table saws are being sold for a grand or more here too. The cheapest I saw was just under 800 Euros which is a rip off for a saw of that quality.
    Love that foam ur using mate..Keep making the walls for tools bcos they make it all look so much tidier.
    Oh lord I need to clean out my garage today. I left saw dust everywhere before Xmas and haven't gone back in.. LOL
