I have a warning everyone!! The PUSH-DOWN WHISK is NOT worth BUYING! It really isn’t even worth getting for free!! I saw a demonstration on it a few years ago at the store, and was intrigued because the guy demonstrating whisking eggs, it with ease!! BUT, no. He even stated that it would be so easy for someone with arthritis to be able to USE! 😮. But, NO. It was not easy and even my adult 41-year-old daughter thought it was a pain in the b u TT !😮😮😮
I gave it away to the thrift store. I guess if you’d like to try it for under $10 that would be one thing. The two piece set I bought at the store was 20 bucks. 😢😢😢

The easiest egg separator is actually free. It’s your hand. Yes, crack the egg into a bowl, pour the egg into your hand at the fingers, open your fingers slightly and the whites will quickly and gently slip between your fingers. It’s a bit messy but it works.

Matt! I have that corn stripper & LOVE IT! We have a freeze dryer and I bought 3 dozen ears of corn at a local farmers market. Hubby stripped all 3 dozen in about 12 minutes. What a time saver! Highly recommend this gadget!

    • @user-jy1md7vk1w

I'd love to get a freeze dryer someday. What kind do you have? How did you decide on it? Any particular features you do or don't recommend? They are so pricey. What are your favorite uses for yours?- Do you prep, garden, camp, etc? My family is very small so maybe a freeze dryer would be a silly excess for us. Still, they look like so much fun! And much better than the traditional food dehydrator style. And with my child's food allergies, the more foods we make ourselves helps them eat healthier and allows me to be prepared for their specific diet if we ever had anything like the crazy times when there were food shortages a few years ago. But do you eat things like dehydrated chicken all that often/ever? What do you do with the extracted water, is it useful to add to dog food as a tasty addon, or is it only plain water? Freeze dryers still look like a lot of fun!!! Just trying to justify the cost to my husband, lol

I know this is not the same as rubber gap fillers, but when I replaced my stove I had to move a cabinet and cut the counter to widen the hole as I was replacing a drop in stove with a slide in stove. The edges of the counter were ugly, uneven, and even chipped in one spot. I took a flat aluminum bar, cut it to size, painted it black with appliance paint, and glued it down around the new range on the counter. It covered the imperfections and filled the gaps nicely. Just a more permanent solution. Cost about $40 total.

The pacing of the video is excellent. You give enough time to each product, explaining its features and practicality, without making the video drag on.
If you're looking for a way to keep track of your spices and seasonings, consider labels that not only name the item but also provide additional information like taste profiles and food pairings. It's a small touch that can make a big difference in your cooking experience.

The can of corn/etc. safe. I think it is a decent idea, personally I would forget, probably toss it eventually. At the same time, I can see kitchens across the country filled with open cans of food from people looking for a safe. People taking donations at the soup kitchen or homeless shelter scanning the cans. In 20 years there will be stories, a stranger donated me a box of food and when I opened the beans there was 50k inside!!.

I know it isn't cool to like Amazon but more and more we all rely on it and to get to find out about innovative products like this is a great help. Those refrigerator dividers you showed might work perfectly for my needs to keep food from touching the back wall...which leads to uneven cooling and certain parts of the drawers freezing and ruining produce. I've tried tension bars made for RV refrigerators and they work ok until you bump them. The ones you showed might work better. Anything to help prevent food waste is a win. A free alternative to the vegetable can safe; just use the real can. Modern can openers allow you to lift the top, so just rinse the can and put the top back on. I also use containers like bread crumbs and Pringles, where you have a plastic top. You can also use cereal boxes or anything really, but be sure to tell a family member, just in case. Some great ideas! I especially like the corn 🌽 kernal remover.
You can make your own veggie/soup/fruit can "safe". You will need a safety can opener (removes the lid without leaving sharp edges) and a can with a pop top. Open the BOTTOM of the can, empty contents and wash and dry can completely. Place money/valuables in the can and replace the bottom of the can. Because of the way it was removed, sometimes there is a little bit of glue left on the lid and you can firmly press it back on. A little Elmer's glue helps, too. These also make cute containers for gift cards, cash or candy. Just wrap with decorative paper "label" and decorate with ribbon, etc.
Thanks, Matt, for another great video. Love you, too!

Easiest / quickest way to separate yolks out is to use (CLEAN) fingers as a kind of sieve. Messy, but it works 100% of the time once you learn the technique. Otherwise, you can do the same thing the gadget you showed is supposed to do with an empty soda bottle (PET, thick enough to bend and not crumple).

Great gadgets! I especially like the electric pot, bacon grease keeper and pickle fork. I feel the silicone air fryer liners, while helping with clean up) would defeat how an air fryer works, which is moving the hot air around the food. If on a liner the air would only get to the top, similar to a regular oven. The food wouldn’t crisp as well. They would be fine if the items don’t need to be crispy. Has anyone tried them?

a few things you can use to separate egg yolk. A plastic water bottle, used just like you did with that yellow contraption (this works though), use the egg shells and go back and forth several times until all the egg whites are in a bowl and only yolk is left. You can do it by hand but i hate getting my hands dirty.

  • @johnbethea4505
    @johnbethea4505 Год назад +1

The best way I have found to separate the yolk of an egg is to Crack the shell, pour into your hand over a bowl, the white will strain through your fingers into the bowl left with the yolk in your hand. Put the yolk into another bowl.

A even better way is just crack the egg into a bowl. Then dunk your hands in to get the yolk out. Works especially well for separating large amounts of eggs

I immediately ordered the water pump, the counter gap covers, and the bag clips. I have a few comments about some other things, however. First, the safety can has an obvious plastic lid. Any crook would see that and know it isn't a real canned good. I bought a similar item many years ago, and still use it in my camper. The top of the can is made so that it screws in on interior threads and when it is closed there is no clue whatsoever that it isn't a genuine canned good. It even has a felted lining to help mask sounds of the contents moving inside. Second, I wouldn't personally like the oven rack covers because they wouldn't allow me to slide the hot pan over the edge of the rack when removing it. Third, the egg whisk seems unnecessary - I just use a fork to scramble eggs, and my hand held mixer to make things that require more vigorous beating.

However , some of the gadgets you have shared only have one purpose and for gadgets which are rarely used to me they create more clutter and waste of 💰. This just based on my experience for example the one for the peppers would not work for me since I would only use it when I make stuff peppers , which is once in a while.

1, I clicked on your link for the paper plate dispenser--it was in black and 12.99, But on the bottom of the page, there was the same one in white for 6.99. So you might want to fix that link. 2, RE; egg yoke separat0rs: I have been using a little hand held thing for years that Tupperware use to give away as a party prize. It looks like a spoon, but the yoke stays in and the white slides through the slots. I believe I have seen the same concept at the dollar tree or the 99 cents store.

This inflation also happened in the 70's, & has happened before that! I recall my parents being scandalized when gas got up to $1.00 a gallon, then the bread went to a dollar, too. Basic economic cycles. Doesn't make it fun, though!

The best way to separate eggs doesn’t need a gadget. Just break the egg gently into your hand and let the white run through between your fingers. Then you have the unbroken yolk in your hand. I’ve done this for about 75 years!
