Thank you so much. You saved dozens of my files. Hours and hours of work that I thought I was going to have to re-do.
I can't believe how useful Microsoft 3D Builder is for not only repairing models but making remixes of existing designs. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent! Thank you! I've had a ton of trouble with this in the last week.
I LOVE your video tutorials! Always so clear to non-techies like me! THANKS! :-) :-)
I use 3d builder as it came with window 10. Works 99 % of the time, when it does not work then I use Mesh mixer. Have not used the windows stl repair yet. Thanks for the heads up and great MK3 printer !
This Video helped me so much, I didn't even know about 3D Builder!
Saved hours of working on unmatched edges. Tnx buddy :))
Great video! 3D Builder made it very easy to fix the errors. Thanks!
Thank you excellent resource, love your slicer !
You are the best, thanks man
😀 Thank you so much the Microsoft 3D Builder made it very easy to fix the errors Thank you for sharing
Thank you!
3d builder excellent at fixing and issues
thx for share ;)
Meshmixer really helped. I was having problems with the Anker M5 giving me a "File is damaged. Try again." error with certain .STL files. Importing the .STL into Meshmixer, then exporting it as an .OBJ and then slicing it in AnkerMake Studio made it possible to print the files.
Thank you.
Can't we directly import the .3mf file to the slicer or do we absolutely have to convert it to an stl file for slicing?
how come your model didnt have any overhangs in the stl and they were present in the g-code?
The thng from microsoft mesh repair doesnt exist anymore. Is there another alternative ?
I get the message "file is incomplete". If I continue to print the PLA doesnt stick to the bed but moves around as the extruder moves.
What is the problem and how can I solve it?
Btw I use Cura as slicer.
Does somebody know, si there a size limit of the file on Microsoft’s website? Thx.
wth I log into my Microsoft account and try to repair files and it just sits there in Q all day?!?! someone help me plz!
The same happens to me
why are you shortcuting your files to open in meshmixer? the program only supports drag n drop or the open diolouge, directly trying to open just opens a new meshmixer page unless it is in the .mix format.
I have solved same problem on same model 2 weeks ago. :) BTW, it can be printed without supports.
Which Layer Height would you suggest at a Prusa i3 mk3?
I dont find this program (microsoft stl repair)... What is the link for it? I only find some sketchy site asking me to login with my microsoft account.
If you're on Windows, we embedded this repair directly into PrusaSlicer. You just have to click on the exclamation mark in the right panel - next to the object's name.
I was very surprised when I tried Microsoft's own repair software, because it was so fast, hassle free and light on operational capacity. - It's not perfect, obviously, but.
Is there a repair algorithm for Mac users? Or is this it?
great tutorial but my solid is so messed up i cant seem to get it to work
Yet another FREE gift in the form of advice, from the god of 3DP. Thank you Jo.
I import it into TinkerCAD then export it from TinkerCAD.
Why no mention of netfabb?
lags
103 error
discontinued service...
I can finally 3d print blargg from Mario worln
I just use netfabb.
how long is processing time?
0:22 that may be exaggeration
So if I try to slice a corrupt model the world goes boom. Got it.
Oh, and you go trough the trouble of blurring your file structure but then when the download menu comes up you leave it unblurred, FYI.
I wish MeshMixer ran on Linux :(

You can use MeshLab instead. It's free and open source and is available for Linux.
I couldn't find any good tutorials for mesh repair in MeshLab.. I know it can do it but it's typical open source 'very powerful but hard to use' software.
If anyone has a few recommendations beyond the half incomplete or out of date ones that are common, it would be appreciated.

As indicated by Pudale the tutorials by Mr. P are excellent. He's updated the series but even the old ones are still valuable for basic operations like repair.
you should make a video on how to repair Prusa printers that the company assembles wrong.
Try the Microsoft 3D Builder app, fixes all my models
Josef please set the printer speed to 150% for the MK3 parts, no one will notice
I just made a comment about baby groots right arm in a forum.
Hi Josef, I like 3D printing and this is realy cool technology. I always wanted to have my own 3D printer but this is too expensive for me. Can I have prusa i3 MK3 for free, please?

Paweł Rogaliński haha nice try. If it's too expensive then work more
I am very sad.
3d builder is trash, takes 6 or more hours to repair my file then crashes. can only repair the most simplistic crap, trash application
