Nice sled, bought the same one my senior year. Sled of the year in 96 or 97 If I'm not mistaken? She was mint and seemed to have some work done but that was never confirmed. Had I known what I do now I would've never sold it. That was the sled that made me fall in love with those purple tops. Currently have a super clean, low mileage 95 Formula SS. Picked it up with a 2-place aluminum tilt trailer for $600 🥳🤯. Previous owner thought the case had to be split because of an oil leak, it was the oil seal behind the water pump, easy $40 fix. If you still have this and ever want to sell, I'd be very interested.
Those Rotax rotary valved two stroke sled motors are very durable quiet and good on fuel. Back in the day they were the best all around. We all wanted the Polaris Indy with a 670 HO under the hood. The Ski-Doo chassis were not as good in the moguls and on a rough trail. I used to ride the 1995 670 Mach 1 twin pipe it was a badass sled and would easily keep up with modern sleds if not beat them. I would love to have the 670 twin pipe on a modern chassis. My brother inlaw had a new 1989 formula MX 462 CC in the old steel chassis it was awsome in its time one day trail riding it went 100 miles on a quarter tank of fuel. It had a 10.6 gallon tank we were also surprised by my friends 89 Formula Plus 521 cc it was almost as good as the MX. That is extremely good fuel mileage similar to an E Tech but with carbs wtf. Did anyone else experience that kind of fuel economy on those old Rotax machines?
I never did on my 97 mxz 670 that i sold like an asshole but my 95 Formula SS seems to sip fuel, granted I'm trying to keep her in nice shape and don't drive quite as "aggressively" as I normally would, that f chassis suspension isn't too forgiving and she's just too clean to beat on, damn I feel old worrying about keeping it mint lol.
I had the 95 Mach..it was badass! Pulled tubes, added 1 jet up, Guy Parquette clutch kit,Crank shop stingers ( she was noisy!) thing my ears are still ringing...what??😂 she was a runner.
Clean old sled! Looks like she's still got lots of fun left in her, those 670s are a hoot to ride.
