One thing that i should notice to you that, "Nama saya" And "Nama aku"
"Saya" in Indonesian language generaly use for formal kondition, when we speech, sending masage, letter or normaly we always say the word "saya" To honorable people or older people, otherwise, different with "aku" More often used when we talking to friend, or just some other people that we close to. Hope that can help you^^

I am Indonesian and I dont dare eating those kind of food. Snake I did ate but in the Chinese way of cooking into a soup in Hongkong. The Rat in North Sulawesi is not the regular or normal rat we see in the evening time

Some warungs sell dog cooking, geckos, giant bats (Kalong), and monitor lizards (Bats, Geckos, and Monitor Lizards are believed having medicinal effect, like bats for asthma; Gecko for acne), even Gunung Kidul in Jogjakarta have roasted cricket and grasshopper as their traditional food and sold it as souvenir food.

I remember when the tv show "Survivor" started, in one early season they didn't give the contestants meat, only rice. As the Island they were on was overrun with rats, they started catching them, roasting them on a skewer like shish kabob and I don't think anyone got sick as far as I remember.

Let me tell you a little bit of South Sulawesi as the name of Province or district and its capital city is Manado. It is more familiar name for Indonesian people in every different place. Majority of people in Manado are Christians (approximately 80% to 90%. That is why some of them eat snakes, most of them eat junggle rat, most of them eat dog and pork. But sometimes other Christian people in another place don't eat pork and dog. I can tell you that most of the foods in Manado are very spicy and delicious. It is one of the best places for hunting good in Indonesia. The last but not least, there are so many beautiful girls in Manado. Becareful with them, Daniel. You will be falling in love with them then Natalia will be so jealous with you. Hahaha.... It is about three and half hours from Jakarta to South Sulawesi by plane. I hope you can understand my brief description about North Sulawesi or Manado.

Well, for that kind of food especially the rats is also unsual for most of Indonesian people here. Mostly we considered it as a pest not food. Only for the northern part of Sulawesi especially Manado, they used it as a traditional food.
