We spent 7 weeks in Albufeira in the first year of our full time travels 3 years ago. We are now looking back fondly and enjoying watching your journey. We decided to buy a condo in Bucerias, Mexico instead of a place in Europe but it was a tough choice and we still plan to visit Portugal again.

Congrats on beating you budget!! TravelSpend is great! We didn’t know that there was a free option. We pay something like $12 a year, and it’s well worth it! We’re using it now to budget our living expenses in San Miguel de Allende México. Happy travels, you too! We hope to see you on the road someday!!

Hi Sean! Yes, we tip. For example, Rick's haircuts were 5 Euros each, so we tipped 1 Euro (20%) which is why the total for both haircuts came out to just over $13. 💇♂😊

Tips are not customary outside of the US. Maybe for extraordinary service. It is not expected like the US where it’s absolutely out of control!
