- This color footage is from "Lucy's Really Lost Moments". Desi Arnaz is taking a representative of Westinghouse on a tour of Desilu Studios as a potential sponsor. Lucy as usual as her own plan.

people don't realize how powerful of people desi and lucy were. they literally owned Hollywood and the tv sets and sound stages. everything was filmed here. great people with a great vision for the future
Desi was a drunk and destroyed his family cheating the entire time they were married. Not a great husband or father.
This is absolute gold! How nice to see Vivian Vance & William Frawley as themselves. And everything in color! I love this ❤️
i bet the color was added later... but very good bonus footage
desi arnaz was a genius. the industry never gave him credit. smh
Just think how important the rerun is. The man was a genius.
@@Btvstudio part of the "problem" with Desi is that he "threw it away" via drinking, womanizing and insecurity.
@@scotnick59 I can't argue with that
Fred as "Betty Furnace?" You can be SURE that was one idea the Westinghouse people didn't adopt!
2:08: Just beyond the "mansion" is the future site of the Stalag 13 outdoor set (1965-1974), used until 1971 by the Hogan's Heroes crew and one time in 1968 by a Mission: Impossible team. It was demolished during filming of "Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS" and apartment sets were then erected for "The Fortune" . . . these didn't last long.
It’s now Culver Studios. I used to live down the street.
Sandi Angel so did I . on Poinsettia CT and Ince St next to Jerry's market . growing up we would watch them film Hogan's heroes and Gomer Pyle and every Wednesday night Don Kirchner's rock concert
@@joelsube2798 Totally different now and stage 6 building is being made into another building and that's where Step by Step was filmed. We used to hang out there in hopes of seeing Staci or Angela as they entered, which happened only 2 times and they waved back lol. Sad to see how different that area is today. Great memories.
Dezi knew his stuff when it came to running a studio. Lucy was funny here trying to get items from Westinghouse or as Dezi says Westinggouse. Her in the dryer hiding, very funny.
Desi was a brilliant man. He essentially created 3-camera sitcom with an audience and was a huge pioneer of filmed TV production. He's never gotten the full credit. When Lucy took over, she was responsible for green lighting two series nobody else wanted: Star Trek & Mission Impossible. Also, many of the most popular series of the 60s were shot on Desilu stages.
That "Westinghouse man" is the actor who also played Ricky's Hollywood agent...
This reminds me of an episode of I love Lucy.
And some of those disguises were pure "I Love Lucy," even to Lucy hiding inside the Space Mates washer and dryer!
Wow great show
LOL. That was really cute. Thanks for sharing.
William Frawley misspoke. The puppet isn't from "King Kong" (1933). It's actually from "Mighty Joe Young" (1949). Both were RKO pictures, produced by Merian C. Cooper.
That would make more sense, since the Kong armature (the "round-faced" one), which was indeed stored at RKO at the time and had been stripped in 1933 and used for "Son of Kong", was in terrible, decaying condition at the time this promo was made.
I love this
at 1:40 you can see what was to become the courthouse for the Andy Griffith show.. the 2 pillars on the right frame the front door..
Amazing thanks for sharing! The 40 Acres set produced a lot - prolific!
You should already have known that the marriage of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz was quite adventurous as far as career goals. Undoubtedly, the Arnazes did everything together as far as that, it led to ongoing frictions within their marriage mainly because of their decisions weren't always the same.
The rep is Ross from the Hollywood episodes haha
1:40 Desi flies over Mayberry. Tara is at 2:05.
Dezi arnezz should narrate everything!!
THE ORIGINAL KING KONG !! LIKE NEW!!! Now its just a metal frame !!
Actor Ross Elliot plays "Mr. Hayden."
I Love Lucy my favorite one fan BIG season DVD 📀 Dolls New York Jamestown Lucy Desi Museum Love my favorite one fan BIG 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🎶🗽
Wait he's IN the chopper!!
doesnt Universal own a lot of the former Desilu studios?
No it's another studio now but the Lucy set is still there it's a museum now you can tour it
@@yakamarezlife I had no idea it existed.
where was that?????????????? California(1960???)
Funny!!
9:05 It’s really Mighty Joe Young.
She's really spraying black paint while people are 4 feet from her inside a set!
What year is this?
nope it was 58 i think
Close 1957
@@yakamarezlife Wikipedia backs you up, it's '57. But, why is it in color? Nobody had a color TV set yet.
@@timyoung3257 actually a few did but they where insanely exspinsive I think Desi did it to make the studio look even better
@@timyoung3257 --this footage looks to be colorized black & white footage.
Everybody’s comments on here were so nice and flattering so kudos to you good people . But Ive got to be honest with you folks I am a huge , I Love Lucy fan , but this was absolutely ridiculous senseless and pathetic , I found it completely unwatchable , i’ve seen better film on my teeth. Somebody grab me a drink and a loaded firearm so I can shoot the TV , oh my goodness no !!!!!! Forgive me but it had to be said !!!!
C'mon, have some fun. It's simply a spoof of I Love Lucy 🤣
I don't think that this was made for television consumption but for internal Westinghouse public affairs.
@@kennixox262 I believe you are correct however, it still doesn’t make it any easier to digest but it does help somewhat. Thank you.
Im pretty sure this was made as a promotion for westinghouse, when you are making a advertisemnet piece there is only so much you can do to make it entertaining... thye did just that
