Desi does not get the credit he deserves. He really was a creative genius, a television pioneer. He wanted Lucy to be the star and she was and is ❤ But he was the brains

Desi was a brilliant man. He essentially created 3-camera sitcom with an audience and was a huge pioneer of filmed TV production. He's never gotten the full credit. When Lucy took over, she was responsible for green lighting two series nobody else wanted: Star Trek & Mission Impossible. Also, many of the most popular series of the 60s were shot on Desilu stages.

I wish someone would have prayed more for Desi and Lucy. They are wonderful together. Desi really needed prayer. He was seeing two to three different women a week. He smoked a lot and got drunk too many times. This affected his health and cut his life span. Ultimately, Lucy could not take any more of this, understandably. They divorced in 1960 but we all know their love was always there. If Desi overcame his demons, the marriage would have survived. Desi and Lucy would have lived longer than they did, and the kids would have had the joy of both parents together. Sure, Lucy married Gary and Desi married Edi, but it was always Lucy and Desi.

Dezi knew his stuff when it came to running a studio. Lucy was funny here trying to get items from Westinghouse or as Dezi says Westinggouse. Her in the dryer hiding, very funny.

The problem wasn’t that Lucy was too old. She and Gale Gordon were still in great form. The problem was the writing wasn’t funny and the actors who played Lucy’s family were superfluous at best, and unwatchable at worst. Lucy deserved better material. If she’d been given better scripts, a better cast and director, she would have had a fabulous career for many more years.

Wow this was abysmal. I tried to cut through the eighties sitcom cheese, the obnoxious kids, the terrible writing, and finally the hacky acting. Her comedy didn't evolve. At this time comedy was getting more cerebral. Like cheers. She was just being a clown. The only reason she didn't do a prat fall was because of her age at the time.

That is not a rep from Westinghouse. He is an actor - he played one of Tony Dow's teachers on Leave It To Beaver, and a psychiatrist on The Dick Van Dyke Show.

I enjoyed all of Lucy's other shows, but I didn't care for this much. Should have stuck more to Lucy and Gale and the hardware store, and brought in the celebrity appearances every week like Here's Lucy.

I haven't watched this yet. I just finished with the Lucy Show. Now I'm gonna watch Here's Lucy (I've never watched any of these shows before). I wanna watch Here's Lucy before watching this one. Why is this the show only one season. She's always had 6 season on her TV shows. I wanted to watch all these in order, but I Love Lucy isn't on RUclips or anywhere else I can find!

Poor lucy still thinking its the 50's remember old folks you have to change your calendar every dec 31,gale on the other hand was smart he came out of retirement only if he got paid for the full 22 episodes in advance, they only made 13 and it got canceled after just 8, he knew it would bomb.

I suspect the network cancelled this show because Lucille Ball , at 75 years was frail and Ill at this point and was finding it difficult to perform , maybe they feared she would collapse and they would be blamed for this unthinkable possibility.

its true that older people can stand in their own way by not being open to new ideas. I still think she would have come around if they had approached her the correct way about the shows problems.
