This road test was what got me into BMW 5 Series cars (especially the 540i) at the time.
I’ve had both. I miss my 540s. I love my 528i that I have now.
Pretty sure the 540 uses recirculating ball steering, not rack and pinion.
Correct
Yes, but non-V8 like 528i have rack and pinion.
I love E39s
i ALWAYS ONLY SOW PARTS OF THIS VIDEOS, this is the first time i see the full video! thanks!
The burnout segment and the pile of smoking tire rubber scene made me really like this 5 Series (pre M5).
Wow that navigation system looks pretty advanced for the year 1997
they first installed that unit in the E38 7 series in 1995.
Wow wow wow! Bring it ALL Back!
Or at least post more Motor Trend TV episodes here on RUclips if anyone can find anymore.
That has got to be one tired 427 Corvette. The only way it's going to do a 14-second 1/4 mile, is if the driver's asleep.
Yeah. It's biased ply tyres would go up in smoke one would think.
lmao 155mph. ( if you still have the factory speed limiter) its more like 175
