    maybe it's because of the proximity of the Northern Shaolin temple to the Korean peninsula that the northern shaolin kung fu horizontal fist had influenced the way korean martial arts execute punches

    Great Tutorial. Well Done! I like the side angles used for explanation.

    It’s all about the rotation. By twisting your body, you create momentum with each punch, and by rotating your fists 180 degrees, you generate more force upon impact.

    i really want know if does have any diference between taekwondo and Karate punches and blocks techniques, i was watching a karate video few minutes ago and i realized they are pratically the same.... of course, in hands and arms techniques.

      That's because they are Japanese over powered Korea and Japanese arts were the arts allowed Korean m.arts came from the Japanese arts mix with some kung fu arts
      Korean are the most technical kickers bc of hard & soft styles but the hand techniques do come from Japan

    I thought general Choi said never twist your shoulders, always keep them parallel. Or is this not ITF pattern punching?

    • @MishtahPoog
      @MishtahPoog 6 лет назад +1

      Right -- this is not ITF/Chang-hong. What this is showing is closer to Kukki Taekwondo (a.k.a WTF/World Taekwondo), though there are a few super-tiny differences between what is shown and what Kukkiwon teaches now.

      They are technically still in balance, so the reason he twists them is for momentum. Since they are stable either way that is.

    what they don't teach you is that the fist at the belt means that you're susceptible to a hook on the side with the hand on the belt.

    • @kingofstars3508
      @kingofstars3508 2 года назад

      This is basics, he assumes you know how to block before you know how to punch. This is for practicing punching, and is not an effective or efficient stance.

    • @UncleMerlin
      @UncleMerlin 2 года назад

      @@kingofstars3508 Even then, all it teaches you is how to use your full body weight with a punch. It doesn't drill you to get used to punching with your full body weight.
