On a side note, I'm watching a documentary, as part of the "Forbidden Hollywood Collection", my library has it, about William A. Wellman. He was one of the first big Hollywood directors starting in the 1920s. He made a movie called WINGS that cost over 2 million dollars to make in 1927. It was the first Best Picture Oscar winner ever at the very first Academy Awards, and it's not in the Criterion Collection. I'm kinda surprised because they did a lot of aerial footage that was amazing for its day. 😊 Also in the "Forbidden Hollywood Collection" I'm going to watch Red Headed Woman, and Frisco Jenny, and finally Midnight Mary. These are all "Forbidden" because they are pre Hays Code films... before Hollywood was more restricted in what they could do. I just love the '20s and the Prohibition Era. 🍾 🍷
I just watched that Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2 yesterday and the blonde girl who he "loves" is one of the side characters who gets tossed through a window on Friday the 13th part 7. I have never seen her with blonde hair before. In Friday the 13th part 7 she has long straight redish/brownish hair. I like how they did SNDN 2 as an interview with him, some flashbacks to the brother, and then his rampage. His chuckling while going nuts is funny and memorable. 😅
@AVAPopCulture I think it's on Tubi. That actor Eric had a tiny cameo on In Living Color as a cocktail waiter for the Men on Film duo. Lol. The blonde girl's name is Elizabeth Kaitan. I think her name is Robyn in Friday the 13th part 7. She dates the dopey guy, they both get knocked off! Lol.
I'm glad you like the T1 transfer because like you I think people are disliking this 4k on RUclips just to get clicks. I thought the 4k was fine with no big issues to talk about.
yeah I went into that in my stand alone video review on it...I think people hate on it for reasons that have nothing to do with this actual movie which is a shame
The Northman is Eggars adaptation of the legend of Amleth which is the story that directly inspired Shakespeare’s Hamlet. I’ve seen a lot of people echo the same sentiment as you in regards to the story feeling like it was lacking, but if you familiarize yourself with the source material, the film captures the story as perfectly as Eggars possibly could. He certainly added a few creative flourishes of his own, but in my opinion Eggars style has always been to stay as true and accurate to the source and setting he draws inspiration from as possible which is a huge reason why he is one of my favorite directors to emerge in the past decade.
@@AVAPopCulturetotally hear you dude. To clarify, his source of reference was Amleth not Hamlet. Still a visceral experience for the eyes and ears, just makes me sad to see people saying the story was half baked, but I get that people appreciate different films in different ways.
Hi Chase, there's a nice interview with Kurt Russell, it's from 2006 but was republished last year, of the October issue 2023, in the magazine True West, regarding the movie Tombstone. You'd probably like it. There's also a bunch of opinion pieces about whether or not Tombstone is the greatest Western ever made. I know it's your favorite Western. I saw the magazine today at my local library, and Tombstone is the cover of it. 🔔 I should also add I didn't know Kurt Russell was so intrical to the movie being made, and there's a Sly Stallone connection. And that article said if you visit Tombstone be prepared for it to be like the movie, rather than any other historical aspect of the town itself.
I'm glad you liked Blow Out. I got it on 4k when it first came out and I was floored by how much I liked it. It was a blind buy for me. I wish I had gotten that Terminator steelbook. I had it on order but my dog needed surgery so I had to cancel all my upcoming 4k preorders for now.
I have the regular 4K disc of Terminator and it does have have special features that were ported over from previous releases. Granted, they did not create new extras for the 40th anniversary, but even the ported over extras, some have not been on previous editions since like 2000-2001. From what I’ve read.
Nancy Allen was married to de Palma for a few years. She was in his movies since Carrie. I think Blow Out may have been her last with him? I don’t remember. I own the Turbine 4K disc of Crash. I believe it got an NC-17 rating when it hit theaters and even on home video.
Sadly I think that money is so tight for people that they aren’t going for movies like Hush. And rather purchase a movie they’ve seen a hundred times like Silent Night Deadly Night. I could be wrong but from the people I talk with their budgets are really tight. I want to grab Hush but haven’t grabbed it just yet. As for people watching videos on it who knows about that. 😅 it’s a bummer nonetheless.
@ZombieGxrl I'm sure that is part of it because inflation and prices are hurting budgets right now for sure! It's just that we as collectors and content creators need to remember that We can't complain about releasing the same things if we don't buy and support the different things we are asking for!
I let scream factory build up a while and just buy a bunch all at once. But drag me to hell death becomes her and a couple others look good now. I hear the wolfman is a great release but I kinda hate that movie. I DID preorder the faculty though.
I got the terminator on 4 k steel book, and it came with a blu ray from a local supplier in New Zealand . Wow, what a transfer. It was great, and it was like l was watching it for the first time. It's one of the best 4 k movies of the year
