    I've seen a few people mention The Blair Witch Project and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I think these two movies are very much movies of their era and it's almost like you had to be there. I was there when Blair Witch came out and it was a total phenomena, people thought this really happened until the actors were like "surprise, we made it up, we're okay." I was 17 when it came out and it was totally of its era. The same can be said for Texas Chainsaw, people thought it was real (and part of it was inspired by Ed Gein) but largely it was a reflection of the 1970s...a lot of Macabre things happened and people were being lied to. Very gritty and raw, just like the '70s. I feel like these two movies have the same quality. Just wanted to point that out. I like both movies.

    • @benbelzer8303
      @benbelzer8303 День назад

      I should say, people thought Texas Chainsaw was a portrayal of something real... like the intro of the movie says. I'll also add, both movies were B movies that started trends and became A movies in a sense. They're both iconic.

    Hands down the worst horror film I remember watching is Dead Sea from 2014. It promised bloody sea monster violence and delivered monster-less shaky cam attacks with minimal blood letting.
    The Crawling Dead is also pretty bad. It might have been a laughable good bad movie, but the sound mix is all over the place. Too quiet one moment and then blaring past 11 the next. The acting is pretty laughable as well.

      One of the ugliest looking movies I've ever seen.

      @@geraldmartin7703 I remember the movie had to have a lot of cuts to get an R-rating. mostly due to the sex scene was too hot for theater release. it was not only bad. one or 2 scenes went on for too long. sci fit and horror is a hard combo to pull off.

    If you ever want to see what the true bottom of the barrel is for the worst for any film. The movie The Jar is actually it. It didn't even appear on IMDB for a long time. The guys over on Red Letter chose to destroy it in a jar of acid. It's a film I watched only once nearly 30 years ago, and it's stuck with me ever since, as what truly defines what the worst really is. Chase, I have owned a copy of Troll 2 on DVD way before it ever became a thing on the internet. I usually enjoy what some people consider pretty bad, but there's seriously nothing to enjoy about The Jar. You will think I'm joking, but if you ever see it, it's only on VHS, save yourself that headache, and for anyone else. It really is only meant to be destroyed.

      Do you happen to know what movie from the '70s or '80s has a bunch of kids on a playground at night and they come for a dad and his son? I always thought it was Salem's Lot but it isn't that. It's something equally as spooky though. Does this ring any bells?

      @benbelzer8303 I'm not certain. That isn't ringing any bells for me from that description alone.

      @@anthonymerchant2597 The kids turn demonic or something. It's not Village of the Damned and I don't think it's The Gate either.

      @@anthonymerchant2597 I finally found it. It's called The Ray Bradbury Theater: The Playground. It has William Shatner in it. It's just as horribly freaky as I remember from my childhood!! Don't watch it. 😳
