    You are so missed Sister Phyllis, until we meet again praising, singing, rejoicing, dancing, and free of pain, sorrow, stress, no more crying, only Love and eternal life. Going to try this casserole, I was going to get a Air Fryer and try your recipes as well, but can't seem to save up the money.
    Thank you Phyllis for all your amazing utube channel home cooking. Yummy

    I realize it's been awhile since we lost Ms. Phyllis, but I still think of her very often and still watch her numerous videos. I miss her voice, which was soooo calming and soothing to the ear. It's like I lost a loved one in my own family even though we never met. I know other people out there, feel the same love for her, as I still feel. If her family still see's her videos, I just want you to know she will NEVER be forgotten. She was somehow, in my life everyday, for year's. I miss her so much. God Bless to all of her family members and friends. BE SAFE....

      Elise Calbazana Sara doesn't show herself on camera anymore and that makes me sad for her. I think it's due to a bunch of horrible people leaving horrible comments for her. Its terrible because she's so sweet and gives off the vibe of a friend you'd like to have.
      Now all you see is her arm and hand and hear her voice. Her husband seems like a great guy too.

    • @itiswhatitis5784

      I actually hadn’t noticed until you said that her face wasn’t in her videos anymore. Sad how cruel human beings are. She has such a kind and welcoming face and sweet as pie.

    • @beautifulloser75
      @beautifulloser75 6 лет назад

      Elise Calbazana she's not given the reason but that's the conclusion I came to. It's a stark difference from her usual videos. She used to have her comments disabled but when she turned it back on she stopped showing herself on camera. Hate that for her.

    My husband and I make this about once every two months. We make it exactly like this, but spread a can of cream of chicken soup over the tots. It tends to add a bit more flavor to the tots. You can also do this with mashed potatoes if you don't have tots on hand. Yummy - now you've got me craving it!

    I have made many different versions of this. I have used ground turkey, ground lamb, bulk italian sausage and different cheeses too. Simply Sara is fantastic! I've watched her for a long time and just discovered she lives very near me. I laugh because my dear friend (who is British) is always asking me about regional accents here in the states and I share videos with him so he can hear different ones (including yours). I told him that Sara sounds to me like she's from WV and then I found out she is and is very very near to me.
    All that aside I enjoy her channel because she cooks like we always have! Haha! Glad you discovered her. I'm sure the casserole is delicious despite some of the ingredients.

    I make a version of this. I call it "tater tot pizza." Everything is same as yours except on top of meat i spoon on pizza sauce or marinera or pasta sauce, pepperoni across entire casserole, cheese, then tots on top. I sometimes use a variety of cheese for flavors. Sometimes i use sasuage and grnd beef or grnd turkey or chicken, or one or other. MY FAM LOVES IT! I make it in bulk and freeze for meal preps and leftovers. It one of our favorites. I sometimes add mushrooms, onion, diced tomato, any pizza type topping and i put it under the cheese and tots.

    I always mix the meat mixture with cheese and the tatertots. Then I add more cheese to the top. I don't add peppers, but I do onions chopped finely since my son does not like them. He absolutely loves these casseroles....I also make a breakfast tater tot casserole that he loves. I laugh because I think Miss Phyllis was part mouse. She loved her cheese.

    Phyllis...I found your vlog a few months ago and have been watching 4-5 videos a night since and girl, you make me laugh and you make me homesick for what used to be. Tonight I decided it was time to post a comment (well, a bit of a "note from home" if you will). I was amazed to find that you were already well on your way to another fun visit with some 3000 views and 105 comments after less than an hour. This recipe for Tater Tot Casserole is far different than mine but I will try it as a different meal option for my husband and I. I must say that I have to include in this comment that I truly do enjoy your "stories" and the black panther telling was the best! Jack(my husband) enjoyed your interview with Mr. Bucky about all things BBQ as he used to travel quite a bit to Georgia and Tennessee before he retired and the first thing he did was stop at a road side BBQ every trip. Mr. Bucky's take on BBQ was entertaining and enlightening as we had never heard of mustard based BBQ. Being a stay at home Mom for many of my married years I did all my cooking from scratch and I hope if nothing else, your vlogs will bring some of that back as today's generation is too "heat and eat" or "get it and go" programmed to understand that it will catch up to them in some future year and they will wish they'd learned the fine art of cooking, which you make look easy and YUMMY! Listening to your take on the world brings back so many memories of my own upbringing with my 8 other brothers and sisters so I guess you know that mealtime was a major event each and every night. My oldest brother spent 5 years in Germany while in the service during the Vietnam Conflict so I always think about those years whenever you bring up thoughts on your own children. I do hope and pray that you and Mr. Bucky will continue to be well and healthy and your vlogs will continue into the future as this is some of the best entertainment available today. I will say that I was a bit saddened when Lillie Belle and her brother were sent off to their forever homes but I'm pretty sure that Steely wasn't all that sad at all. As a matter of fact, I really thought I could hear him saying "thank God and greyhound those furballs are gone and Mamma will finally be more focused on me and Sunny again"! Just one quick question before I end and that is, could you give this "up north" viewer an explanation as to what the term "low country" means? I've heard you reference it a few times in different videos but really have no clue what it means. Jack is kinda thinking it's living at the foot of the mountains but he isn't quite sure either. So we Michiganders are just trying to figure out what your South Carolinian reference to "low country" means. All help appreciated and we may not be the only ones wondering so it could be a subject for a vlog, yes? Thanks again for entertaining and enlightening us with your stories, recipes and oh yes, smoothie morning rituals...what a hoot Miss Phyllis!!!:):):)

    • @PhyllisStokes
      @PhyllisStokes  6 лет назад +1

      When we refer to "The Low Country" we are referring to the area along the coast that is almost at sea level from Myrtle Beach all the way to Brunswick, Georgia and inland about 50 miles. It also refers to the sea islands off the coast. These areas are low and were used as rice and indigo plantations before the Civil War and before cotton was "King". You are right this is a good idea for a video explaining the whole thing. Even on the TV weather they refer to the area as the "Low Country". This might help showing the different counties that are referred to as "The Low Country of South Carolina":
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Carolina_Lowcountry

    • @vickiulrich6694
      @vickiulrich6694 6 лет назад +1

      Oh, OK. God bless you girl for taking the time to answer so quickly. That is the furthest thought I had in my process of trying to figure out your wording in the story. Now I will better understand when you speak of the "low country". I truly do love hearing you bring in the history of the southern states in your stories and look forward to the next chapter of the Phyllis and Mr. Bucky show. Great content you have Phylis, please don't change not one thing!!!:):):)

    Great Miss Phyllis!! Cooked this tonight but with a few exceptions. Instead of beef, I used peas and string beans and it still came out great; thanks again!!

    I love my Vadalia Chop Wizard. My hubby bought it for me after you recommended it. He also got me a Vitamix upon your recommendation. He is the best husband ever! You and Simply Sara are a couple of my favorite cooks.

    We make a Mexican version with mexicorn, nacho cheese, and taco seasoning instead of the cream soup for the filling. I rarely make the original anymore, my boys gobble it up. Love your channel!

    Thanks for this video. I had forgot how much I liked tater tot casserole, and how easy it is to make it. I just got the Kroger ground beef on sale today, and I have shredded cheese and cream of mushroom soup, sweet onions and a yellow bell pepper. I even have a chopper similar to yours. I will go back and get a bag of tots and make this tonight!

    Phyllis, you starve me to death with all of your delicious meals! I will certainly give this a try. One thought I had was to substitute the tater tots with the shredded hashbrown potatoes in the freezer section. Wonder how that would work? Probably wouldn't have to bake them quite as long as the tater tots. Can't wait to see what you cook up next!♡

      I think the shredded hash brown potatoes would work just as well as the tater tots. I also think next time I make the casserole I will be using creamed potatoes as another subscriber suggested.
